NSS MUSIC aims to be a haven for performing artists. The label will release recordings of new and established works by musicians across the musical genres, with a special emphasis on live performances.
It is the next step in the natural evolution of a "breathtakingly daring original" musician's career. From her sought - after concert and recital performances to her recordings for such labels as Angel/EMI, EMI Classics, and Nonesuch, to her roles as author and Oscar nomimated documentary film subject, violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg has created excitement in the entertainment world for over 25 years. Now, in addition to continuing her performance career, she brings her love for creating beautiful music and her passion for sharing that music to the "other" side of the recording business.

Four years in the making, ON OUR WAY, by CounterPoint Films, in association with NSS MUSIC, candidly reveals how one of the most electrifying soloists and daring recording artists in the classical music world came to partner with a then 16-year old, accomplished, conductorless string chamber orchestra from the West Coast, and her goal to take the 19-member ensemble from a highly regarded entity...

ABOUT IMPRESSIONS: "The piece begins with a Theme & Variations movement, which showcases the five individual sections of the orchestra. Each variation has its own musical language and style, setting distinct soundscapes that are contrastingly derived from one single idea. In Fusion: Dança Brasileira, I bring in my own inherent Brazilian musical background, integrating the joyful rhythms and pec...

Did we ever get that trumpet performance with Doc and the band?
This is a favorite. Sooo Good😌
Best, simply the best!
Heart on sleeve intense. Intonation has a lot of rough edges and she goes crazy with her tempos too. But the audience enjoyed it, and so did I.
She thinking outside the box❤
I've been a fan since the late 80s, and it's still hard for me to find words to describe her performances. Thankfully, others have done so here.
She certainly deserves a lick for that performance
I always thought she was italian l o l. I don't think I ever actually heard her speak before. But she sounds like every salerno in new jersey
Nadja or Hillary Hahn who ya got
I remember watching this live when I was in high school. It was a very inspiring performance and a fun interview as well. So cool that you have made it available on TH-cam!
Absolutely possessed. I’ve always adored everything about her. She’s a monumental force and smart like no other. Even her cadence.❤
❤
Genius!
Quite remarkably vacuous.
Really focus on the keyboard arrangement ..wonderfully changed to support the violin solo
underrated musician
The GOAT.
If I were cocaine, I'd I'd snort Nadja to get high.. the natural, physical, energy she exudes in this was... literally superhuman. Every single time I've see her perform, within 5 seconds, I've said to myself " this is the greatest living virtuoso" . Maybe the single greatest player ever of the violin. This level of excellence in any human is an actual miracle to me.. peace.
Violin. The Marvel way.
Nadja rules. Period. Tortured genius, übervirtuoso. Makes Yngwie Malmsteen lose sleep and feel like a fraud.
brilliant
great
What song?

I have tears in my eyes. So expressive. Tremendous control of bowing and vibrato.
Same here.
She occupies many places in memories.
superb!!!
Would love to see Nadja perform with Emily Bear accompanying on piano, 2 geniuses together.
She's the greatest!!!!!
wonderful
woah
What a family! Just as well that Dad and Uncle Odair are up to performing what you write!
She and Sarah Chang ruled the violin world in the 80s and 90s.
This is fabulous! We really enjoyed it, thank you.
She is wonderful. Having played the violin with teacher Dorothy Delay, I have a real understanding of just how very, very difficult it is to play as well as Nadja plays. Incredible!!!
David Lloyd
Incredidble performance!🥀
Salerno-Sonnenberg has been, from the very beginning, a violinist whose talent and individual voice were so spectacular that she just could not be denied by those at the highest pinnacle of artistry. But, she was also a woman who wasn’t interested in being demure or in making the important males in that world feel “stroked” or admired enough, deferred to enough, to get a free pass which her virtuosity should have assured her. I’ve always admired the hell out of her for this quality as much as I have loved what she has given us. I wish the men who sliced her in reviews-not her playing, which was far too good to criticize-for her facial grimaces which were “ugly” and not ladylike, and for her fashion choices, the sure way to really hurt a woman as sensitive as she was, and is. It’s been a very hard journey for her, and I’m glad she had so many invitations to appear on Johnny Carson’s show bc he knew how to value and promote her to everyday people. I love her!!
This. Every time I see the similar genius Chris Thile play and rock and sway and grimace violently on stage, I wonder if he is aware of his male privilege.
Nadja leaves all pretensions behind.
She was a frequent guest violinist in Portland, Oregon for the renowned Oregon Symphony (under the direction of the late great James DePriest, Conductor) in the 1980’s and 90’s! She would twirl her violin during mid performance and the sold out audience would go wild! I am blessed to have seen her perform!
I was at Aspen that year. She was and is amazing.
Nadja is pure passion. She is rare like J Dupre or KD Lange. I fell in love with her. I’m a passionate pianist. Maybe we will meet someday.
I love your KD. AND Dupre comparison. ❤❤❤
A great artist who has touched many hearts through her sensitivity in expressing what the composers intend.
Wow🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
She's a once in a generation type of gift.....
we called her the classical Madonna in the 90s. She is so good.
How fast can she play the bumble bee. She should be on aGT.
She has put in her 10,000 hours.
The most vulgar violin playing ever........
Nadja is beloved for the creativity and vision she shares with others, Could you play an instrument as well as she does it...If not then it's best you keep your crude opinions to yourself...Nadja has thrilled people all over the world because she is among the few who are willing to put both her heart and her beautiful soul in her music...Could you do any Art as beautifully as she does? Most like to hear her not only for her amazing technical ability and her courage to put herself into her music...Few are technically good enough to reach the level of playing that she reaches so easily due to hours and hours of work she has done to be able to play with her heart and soul for the people...
I’m curious to know why you feel that way?
I was extremely fortunate to meet this beautiful talent many years ago, at my aunt Rosie's luncheonette in Brooklyn. She is family. Thank you to those of you that appreciate the talent. The others, not so much.
Classical music snob.
