Trying to entertain you, one view at a time. Like really, I only get a few views, y’all.
Visiting LA with OG Blackmagic Pocket Cam and Drones.
A very quick recap of my recent trip out to LA. Some tourism, networking and test shots. Hard to capture five days in a 45 second video. Aerials with DJI Air2S. Ground shots with the original Blackmagic Pocket Camera….and it’s still fantastic.

Lost Tracks of Georgia - Banks County Speedway
มุมมอง 13Kปีที่แล้ว
As NASCAR rolls out its 75th season, we bring you the story of a unique dirt track, founded by one of NASCAR's earliest members. It hosted several early NASCAR winners and champions, and helped launch the careers of a cadre of short track legends. This race track once was lost, but now is found, thanks to the love and dedication of an historic racing family in Banks County Georgia. This is the ...
COMING SOON: Lost Tracks of Georgia - Chapter 2

Here's a teaser for the second episode of "Lost Tracks of Georgia," featuring a trip to the site of the former Banks County Speedway. It's a track that was lost, then found, and endures today as a time capsule of a bygone era. See ya soon!
Lost Tracks of Georgia - Athens Speedway
มุมมอง 18K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In a time before the Braves, Falcons and Hawks called Georgia home, and before college football ruled the South, local race tracks scratched the competitive itch for spectators and combatants. As time marches on, many community tracks have disappeared, never to be seen again. Such seems the case for Athens Speedway. But look again. This race track is hiding in plain sight. Join us for a closer ...
Main Street Theatre Tucker Presents: Laughing Stock

One of the places I volunteer is Main Street Theatre Tucker. I help direct a fun trailer for every show and the newest production, "Laughing Stock," is coming up soon (Spring 2022). The show is a bit of meta-theater as it follows the comedic story of a New England-based theatre group as it enters its Summer season, which is held outdoors in an old barn. Big thanks to the cast for a whirlwind Su...

Costa Rica Monkeys (REALLY old video)
มุมมอง 263 ปีที่แล้ว
Sorry for the poor quality. This was shot in like 2004 on miniDV tape. It is, what it is. But I stumbled across and wanted to share. This is at the Costa Verde resort in Costa Rica where every day at 4 p.m. a huge group off Mono Titi's (Squirrel Monkeys) gathers and runs through the restaurant. It's crazy to see in person.

To all my subscribers who are NOT bots, I apologize for the lack of posting. I've had some "life stuff" going on, including some job instability. But I'm ready to get back at it and bring you some crispy fresh video (TH-camr jargon). You can get a preview here: www.ScottHartmanFilms.com. Around our house, I’m always game to devour some leftovers. Heck, sometimes I think a dish’s flavor improves...
New Drone (for me): Mavic Air 2 Quick Hits

Just got a Mavic Air 2. First impression is that it's dope. I'll add some more thorough thoughts once I get some more time with it. Until then, I just wanted to upload a quick hit.
Tucked In: A Scary Short
มุมมอง 1024 ปีที่แล้ว
This one is from the Wayback Machine, but I realized I hadn't shared it with the TH-cam world. So, I hope you like it. It was a collaboration between me and Antony Bui at Launch Light Films. Even though this is meant to be a horror film, in a weird way, this short film is really about the challenges of parenting. Bedtime can be super stressful as a parent when your child doesn't want to go to b...

Thanks that was one of those tricks …. Thanks for it ❤
Is there any update on it?
Great video! Great memories!
I spent many sat. Nights there as a kid. We used to ride on back of the wreckers to go get the cars after they wrecked. Hate its gone, was my favorite place to be unless pop was racing in jefferson.
Thanks for your note. Glad we were able to help you relive some memories!
Great video…the racetrack closed at the end of 1990 however not 92 I have pictures to document this.
Thanks for the coverage ❤ 👍🏁🇺🇸
Thanks for watching!
Que lindo lo que se robaron los arias 😍😍😍😍
Great Video
Great video
Genius timing, great acting skills! :)
Wow, I never knew how much of a connection and impact that accident had on racetracks across the state. My dad's sister, my aunt that I never got to meet, was one of the spectators who died in that accident. It's insane how that one accident caused a ripple effect across all forms of racing.
Wow. That is an amazing connection. Thank you for sharing your story. And thank you so much for watching our video.
Congratulations, Scott; I did some work for my Corporation and some personal projects. I'm curious about this competition.
far out man! that's Awsome!
Excellent video in every way.
Very well done!! I love abandon track videos
Appreciate you watching! Hope to churn out more in the coming months.
I found this on Google maps decided to look it up
Great idea for preserving the track. Much of oval track racing came out of bike racing. The great board tracks were constructed by velodrome builders. Many of the early drivers had been champion riders and of course many of the top NASCAR and Indy drivers ride for fitness. I often wish there was more of a two way street between the sports, or in this case one-way turning left!
Are people allowed to visit the track? Awesome video 🙏
The track sits on private property and I believe is owned by a real estate company in Atlanta. My producer obtained permission for us to shoot there for the day. Having said that, you can basically stand on the side of the main road and at least see the top of the grandstands.
@@hartmanscott Ok cool, thanks a ton for the information! I’ll drive by and see what I can see from there 😁
Does it autofocus or you have to pull focus yourself?
It does not have continuous auto focus. You can push a button on the camera to center focus.
Nice story, hope there is a future there. From the UK where 99% of our tracks are built on.
You do need to make more videos like this buddy.
I’ve watched both of your “Lost Racetracks of Georgia “! And I must say you have put together two masterpieces of capturing the nostalgia, the excitement, and the memories revisited by many race fans and competitors and those who made it all happen. My only wish is that you might continue this series …. Lots of states left ! Thanks again !!
Thanks much! We hope to crank out a few more in the future.
Картинка с этой камеры неприятно мыльная
Excellent! So glad this lost track is now remembered.
no IBIS, does not work to do movie type stuff on the shoulder
I live next door to this track
My Uncle, Mack Carter, raced here in the 70's and 80's. No. 46 most of his cars and No. 55.
Knew Mack from the old Allen's days. He paved our driveway . Zero Collins also raced there back in the day
Tootle's son use to be the flagman at my local track growing up, Corbin Speedway, but it, too, is now abandoned. :/
Went to many a race here as a teeneager!
Such great work! I'd love to learn more about the former tracks near my neighborhood (south Fulton county) namely: Ted Edward's Skyport Speedway (former airstrip & 1st permanent dragstrip in GA recently demolished for warehouses, near Fairburn & Palmetto that had a small oval dirt track near the hangars, and a very long road coarse through the woods), Holiday Downs (large dirt oval a block down Hwy 29, built in a failed effort to entice lawmakers to legalize horse racing in GA, later popularized as a motorcycle and motocross track, finally hosting horseback camps for disabled people & several concerts/raves/festivals), Dixie Lakes Kennell Club (massive dog track that was part of a large resort complex in Union City where the baseball field and park are now, opened in the late 1920s but was forced to close almost immediately thereafter when lawmakers hurridly passed new laws banning all dog/horse racing in GA) and Seven Flags Speedway near Douglasville. Research has been impossible to find for these tracks. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for watching! We have actually talked about visiting Ted's - it's a great idea!
@@hartmanscott here's a curveball: there was once a very popular dog racing track (right behind Bruce Hill's old NASCAR shop) in Union City in the 1920s & 1930s that was shuttered due to some dirty statewide & citywide politics of the time. It's now a walking park and a baseball field but was once a water park, Grand 2 story hotel, pavilion, 9 hole golf course and vacation cottage community. It's not auto racing but there was also Holiday Downs horse track (with an equally rocky history with lawmakers) right next to where Ted Edwards Sky Port Speedway was. And you had 7 Flags Speedway just over the Douglas County line.
@@MatthewLewisAtlanta Very interesting
Great video! Thank you!
I actually found the remains of the Raleigh NASCAR speedway from the 50's in the woods on my channel. I also live close to the Qcconeechee speedway in Hillsborough which dates back to 48 and reminds me of Athens a bit. Great video man and great NASCAR archeology!
Very cool! I'll check it out. Thanks for watching!
This is great, hopefully you have more planned.
there is 4 race tracks in panama city fl that has been gone for years .
I hope you still make more videos of this😊
Thank you so much!! Because Blackmagic pocket camera 4K they don’t make focus handle for it. 🎉🎉
30 second ad for this? LOL
I need to talk to someone about another lost GA track Sugar Creek Raceway that is no longer dead th-cam.com/video/CVNgfbaw_AM/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/Ek3i7tBGPkA/w-d-xo.html
Nice video. Was thinking of buying one of these. Was focusing ever an issue?
I never have much of an issue, though the LCD screen is not great. I separate monitor might be needed at times.
@@hartmanscott Thanks for responding! One other thing. Does security ever give you any trouble with the camera and stabilizer? I mean, short films are shot on this thing lol. I would think, if your goal is to shoot at the park, you probably wouldn’t be able to get away with sneaking an external monitor inside.
Personally, I didn't try to bring a stabilizer. Disney used to have a "no selfie sticks" rule. I just brought a little hand-held tripod about 6 inches tall. I have seen people at Epcot with DJI Ronins and of course people have phones stabilizers all over the place.
A great story and a History lesson.
We have a former dirt track 2 miles from me that closed in the early 50"s. My Dad told me about it but we couldn't go back and look at it. The owner wouldn't permit it. It sad I never saw it.
There is what's left of a dirt track on Hwy 211 not far from Road Atlanta. If you look close you can see some of the board fence.
you talking about Lanier?
We need to do this for athens speedway..its still there
Hi there. If you mean make a show, we actually did Athens for our first show. You can watch it here: th-cam.com/video/geVHYI7E2Yo/w-d-xo.html
I saw the first race on that track. I was just a young'n but loved racing at such an early age. My parents took me to it and it was on a sunday afternoon. It still is the best dirt track I have ever been to. Had lots of friends that raced there. Rudy Boroughs was a good friend of mine and he drove the 007 car and won a bunch of races. Sure do miss that place. When that track was build it was 5 miles outside of Athens and NOTHING was out that way. Now it seems like Athens city never ends. That Jennings Mill country and sub division is what took it out of business.
Thanks for watching and sharing your memories.
Y’all should do sanction lawn mower racing there !
Wish I could hit the like button multiple times !
I would have a tractor going an have they put back like it was an let people come practice an breakin new engines i would have to have some kinda racing going on to keep the sound echoing off them trees an leave all the historic building just like they are! Promise i would have it set up to be used just for the old heros memories!!! Beautiful property
Had a lot of good time at Athens speedway a fan every Saturday night. Made a few laps around the old track myself And the movie Grease Lighting was filmed there (Athens) and Winder Barrow speedway there were a lots of good drivers came out of this t rack.
This is a great video to all racers and thanks to Bobby and Tommy for what they did for racing in GA
Thanks Mr Tommy Irvin’s Sad we might be losing another great track Hartwell speedway lets hope not
It's a crying shame at the race tracks across georgia that have been closed for different reasons. Athens, lanier, gresham. I know the last two are paved but race tracks none the less. I was at the 2015 reunion and it was pretty great to be there. Would love to go there again for another reunion if they have them. There was a Tommy Irvin that was the georgia ag commissioner, but was this one in the same or were there 2 different Tommy Irvins?
I believe the ag commissioner (Tommy) was actually Tommie Irvin's cousin.
