    • @freelatinlife
      @freelatinlife 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s was easier to get a temp residency and renew in a year (done) and convert to permanent in three years rather than go for permanent in the beginning. Now, why do it at all? Options! Many of the western nations are beginning to see freedoms ebb some do having options is good. It’s also hard to spend very much time in Mexico without falling in love with this beautiful country and it’s warm and welcoming people.

      Our facilitator has a small problem right now. She can complete your paperwork and coach you but can’t attend INM with you. When you attend INM your facilitator has to stay outside and can only come in if you have trouble and ask to bring her in. We have attended twice now; once for temporary residency and once to renew. She explained how it works so well that we don’t need her to come in. She is very familiar and gave us good coaching. We were very comfortable with attending without here there the second time. The first time she just waited outside until we were done. I can still get you in contact with her if that works. She had been knowledgeable and taught us what we needed to know. What would you like?

      @Free Latin Life I plan on moving to Mexico with my family of 4 by the end of the summer. Since I am the only one with US citizenship in the family, I discovered it's easier to book an appointment in the US, get the residency, then send for the family later. I already have an appointment for next month at the McAllen Consulate so hopefully everything goes smooth. However, it is good to hear the experiences of others during this process. Since we live between the Dominican Republic and Ecuador, we are eligible to apply in those countries, however it is impossible to get and an appointment at the consulate in DR and extremely difficult to get one in Ecuador. That's why I decided to go to McAllen instead. Also, I hear it is better to send for the family one you have the residency.

      We didn't try right off. Apparently you can go to the trouble of showing a larger portfolio of financial assets and skip right to permanent residency, or you can get temporary residency and renew after a year and then (in most cases) convert to permanent residency once you renew after another three years. I have heard that some folks are showing the requirements for permanent but only being given temporary, have to confirm that with our immigration lawyer. I have been considering juggling all that around and showing the requirements and then just being done and having permanent in place. But, that's why ... just what Soron Quenta said.

    • @davidsebastianelli1326
      @davidsebastianelli1326 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes it's to your benefit for either you or your spouse to get a Temporary Resident Visa to start off. You can then drive your foreign plated vehicle for the four years until you exchange it for a Permanent Resident Visa. You get a TIP (Temp. import permit) and can come and go as you please. If you start with a Permanent Resident Visa you have to sell your car and buy one down there if you need to come back for anything.

    In the last 2 years the financial requirements for residency in MX have changed. You have to demonstrate that you have an income of $3,275 per month and/or have $54,000 in your bank account for 'temporary' residency. There is no standard [?] and that depends on each consulate. Furthermore, their website is not updated.

    • @freelatinlife
      @freelatinlife ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Laura. You have correctly observed that there are some discrepancies. The income required by INM is apparently different from what the consulates require ... by about a factor of 2x. Income or net worth required is based on a multiple of a minimum daily wage in mexico ... but there are two different ways to calculate. And, this amount is in Mexican Pesos, so the conversion rate to the currency of whatever currency of the consulate you are attending is (apparently) left to the consulate. So ... there are some differences. Each consulate will list the requirements on their website. Yes, if you are close to the edge, consulate shopping might be a thing. This is a different country with different positives and negatives from what you and I might be used to. If we are going to immigrate and be a part of this new (warm and welcoming) culture, we might need to adapt our thinking a bit. If you need help, please reach-out. I may be able to connect you with those that helped us.

    That is not fair! I am here in USA for more that 20 years and until now I can’t get my residence. Why do you get the resident in Mexico? Are you an investor? I just want a permit to enter and exit of the USA I don’t want residence, I just want to come back to my México 😢

      FYI-You don't need to be resident to purchase property in Mexico.

    Another enjoyable video. I'm just wondering how you reconcile the shopping malls with trying to get away from North American culture! "Shopping" is just as available in the Mexican form without the gigantic mega shopping cities like Walmart and Costco. I think being in Mexico would be to FLEE from them wherever humanly possible unless just absolutely unavoidable!

      @@freelatinlife I love that concept of "soft landing". You should make a video just on that subject! 👍 I still can't figure how people in Mexico and central America can afford to shop in those places. I saw a video from Managua of centers that looked like they were in Manhattan or Beverly Hills!

      @@dovygoodguy1296 Good idea. I am putting that idea down for a video ... this is an issue for people wanting to leave the USA or Canada but fearful. It is definitely obvious to us that there are a bunch of people in Mexico with more money than we have! There are lots of low-income people but lots of wealthy people too. Keep the video ideas coming!

    My question is about making a appointment, is it best to have a lawyer make a appointment so that I wouldn't have to wait in line and if I did wait in line would my appointment be in that same week?

    Is it accurate that if you purchase property for 175,000 or more you qualify for temporary residency?
