I loved this movie when I was younger, I thought the opening oil rig scene was so sick and I will always love it but seeing it again the first half is definitely a lot better

Cars 2 is a good movie BUT is a bad sequel to the first

The thing I didnt like was just how mean lighting was to mater and I feel like they ignored lighting's character development. Why did lightning bring mater along with him as his friend, if he was just going to be embarrassed by him.

If you deliberately try not to understand this movie, bang your head against the wall and tell yourself, "I don't want to understand anything that's going on, I'm stuck racing," then Cars 2 will really seem like a bad movie. Especially if you watch it with your eyes closed and your ears plugged, then it's generally a terrible movie. (If you know what I mean😅)

Ngl I was more interested in the spy stuff than the racing. Thats prob why Cars 2 is my favorite one out of all.

I don't know if I can post this here but, When LL Cool J was beefing with Canibus and Canibus said on 2nd Round Knockout: "You might have more cash than me, But you ain't got the skills to eat a n*gga's ass like me!" I still can't believe he said that, and he's a legit lyricist. One of the best of all time.

Cars 2 is obviously a very weird film in comparison to the og and 3 but it's not terrible at all. It has it's highs and lows but the highs are higher than the lows are lower in my opinion.

Genuinely remove mater from this movie and it’s fire. Have Finn be in a spinoff movie with some cameos from McQueen due to it being based around the plot at the grandprix and uve got a fire spy movie

I have to say my piece. Firstly I don’t respect Jackson storm at all. In the first minutes of the movie we see that lightning is boxing out every other racer from the next gen cast. This immediately makes me feel like storm is only winning because he is literally “cheating” by being part of better technology. Compared to chick he is nothing. Chick played dirty but excluding that he was an excellent racer. In the opening race after the big wreck he is stuck in the pits and starts almost last. However he is able to climb back to the top with no dirty plays. And because the king makes a small mistake he is able to get on even grounds and tie. If storm was the same gen as lightning he would not have been able to perform this same feat. Also speaking of how you were disappointed with the ending I think one of the deleted senes would have intrigued you Mr Aaron. In one of the deleted scenes before lightnings race his boss says he isn’t racing him because when he was training with Cruz her numbers were much better. So the boss quits on lightning which perfectly parallels docs story. However lightning gets to the race because tex is friends with Smokey and tex officers lighting the sponsor of dinoco. So lightning races under dinoco with docs colors and number. This is what we know 100% and I want to give my own idea on how to make the ending work. So lightning and Cruz race. During the race lightning reminds Cruz of their training and they together climb the ranks. Once they are in 4th and 5th storm starts to get worried about lightning. (In the actual movie we’re in the manipulation scene where storm smack talks Cruz but lightning reassures her.) so storm starts mind gaming and makes lightning lose his mojo a little. Smokey however gives lightning words of courage and says the fact that storm is mind gaming is because he’s desperate. This gives lightning mojo. While storm is mind gaming Cruz picks up speed and speeds past them. Storm is shocked at what’s happening and races after her. He has a hard time getting past her and because he’s distracted lightning is able to draft and save energy. Eventually by the final lap storm manages to pass Cruz saying he will see her at the finish line. At this moment lightning speeds past storm. This sends storm into melt down mode and he tries crashing McQueen out but fails because of lightning’s experience with chick. Eventually he manages to slam McQueen into the wall. But mqueen does doc’s flip (yes doc did it first). So he manages to speed past and win. And because storm slowed himself down with the slam as well Cruz is able to speed past him too finishing in second (still a little too good for a first time but oh well) causing storm to finish third. And bam a much better (in my opinion) ending and a proper send off. Sorry but I had to rant.

I loved this film as a kid because of the cool spy stuff and the races but rewatching this a decade later I can see why this movie was hated, the spy stuff is a bit annoying though something I found hilarous was the fact we got to see cars dying in this movie.

4:49 as a TOP fan as soon as I saw them in the thumbnail I knew EXACTLY what lyric you were going to talk about 😭 Edit: Taxi Cab is actually one of their most beloved and well-written songs, that whole verse is a metaphor for Jesus saving the world. It isn't about an actual taxi lol, but if you missed the religious allusion I agree that it sounds ridiculous

Cars 1: Best Pixar Movie! Cars 2: Good. Cars 3: Great!

I like cars 2, don’t get me wrong, but it really does just feel like a maters tall tale that got turned into an actual movie and had logic applied to it. Still, I love all the characters. The first movie feels like a tribute to Americana and racing, and this one feels more like exploring characters and world building. You can definitely tell the crew had fun coming up with all the wacky characters and world

One of my favourite things is how it felt re watching it after finding out that it’s a true story about a house in Neil Gaimans home town.

We love our boy talking about music so I hope you can do more of this in the future
