The art panels are ATS Acoustics absorption panels I purchased off Amazon and then wrapped in a breathable fabric that I had ordered with our custom artwork printed on it. The site I used is no longer operating but there are generally a couple sites that will print your graphics files onto a variety of materials for a reasonable cost.

Thanks! I don’t have rears in this room, though kinda wish I did. The rear heights are on the back wall but will be moved out into the room when I upgrade the projector. My surrounds are still fine in their placement, I can still see them from the MLP so no major blockage.

I didn’t see those but good to know. Been happy with the BTF now that I’ve learned how to pair power supplies and split off. Very customizable and I was able to get rid of the wall warts on the side walls and move all the control and power behind the screen.

Yeah, convenience is such a terrible thing. I can’t believe people who want to add convenience in their lives. Such an inconvenience for others. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

It can’t be inexpensive, though. People continually look at Kaleidescape as an assembly of off the shelf parts and ignore the rest of what goes into it, not the least of which is file security, which is a big part of what allows them to offer the quality they do. The studios would never allow them to sell a $1000 box that every hacker would try to open up and steal the IP within.

@ very true. I didn’t think of it that way. For me, like you stated in the video, it’s all about convenience. That’s what you are really paying for when you really look at it. You decided what you want from the app, purchase or rent it and in 10mins, it’s ready to watch with the highest possible quality available. Too much hassle with Plex and other systems. The Strato V makes it within reach for many people I think now.

I still have the Laserdisc as well, and had ripped it into my edit system at 720p and cleaned up some of the noise. Such a great show.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. It’s great to hear about your setup and some potential issues with the HDHomerun. I've not dealt with their support. PLEX still does not support any ATSC 3.0 channels, but I haven't had any problems accessing the higher quality audio through the HDHomerun app on an AppleTV 4K, but yes, not for encrypted channels. ATSC 3.0 has been a mess so far, and it doesn't seem like hardware manufacturers are too interested in putting in the extra work, especially with broadcasters still able to lock them out with no notice.

@@danielforward8218 not wasted. At the time, the vast majority of equipment is 40g… including testing equipment that’s anywhere in the realm of affordable. Our testing kit costs several thousand, as is. So, yes, we aren’t pushing through 48k, but we are testing to the limits of where our gear can take us, in addition to a range of other variables, including physical measurements and real world connectivity. We aren’t pushing through sourcing a 48g kit this coming year - 48g chips are finally landing in more affordable realms, and, this industry leaders like Murideo are starting to produce testing equipment with 48g chips embedded. In the case of this particular review, we pushed the cable as far as we could with the tools that are available. And, yes, you’ll have to make a decision if the extra 8gb can be extrapolated or not. @@rcb_matt core 200 plus the flexus sub cost more, but are a slightly more robust pairing. I’m we haven’t measured the flexus sub, but have heard them in action. Nice gear!

@ I’m tempted to run with the Flexus. I listened to the Sony soundbar at Best Buy. It was amazing but the sub, even the upgraded sub was lacking.

@ cool! I keep reading that it’s supposed to be released in December but as of yet, haven’t seen it for sale anywhere. Any idea on the release date? I doubt I need anything that strong but thought it might push the Flexus 200 price down a little.

Unfortunately no, there’s not a center seat, but my last theater also didn’t have a perfect center seat so I’m rather used to it after 15 years of living slightly off-center.

I think this is new to Audio Control

It's a product for a specific audience and use case, and due to the fact it has no competition with the same feature set, those folks will likely find it worth it. For those who are okay with streaming compressed files, or managing and maintaining a server and waiting for discs to maybe become available, this isn’t for them.

Thanks for pointing out the link error - corrected! TH-cam is supposed to create chapters that are viewable in the description. It did it for the last episode... no idea why it didn't auto-chapter for this one. Frustrating - you're not the first person to make that request. I’ve run a lot of remotes through here and this is by far the best value for the build quality and capability. Goes way beyond Sofabaton, beats Harmony, plus it’s not plastic.

I can't speak for them but doubt they are adding any compression at all. In fact, either they are decrypting the disc and copying the files over 1:1, or they are copying the disc in its entirety and on the drive, it is treated as a drive/disc. If your disc is 30 gigs, on the NAS it should be about the same.

@Saintel I saw a review of the ripper and it was implied no compression is used.

Of course. I wasn’t coming from 3, I was deciding between 3 vs 6, and I went for the included Neo power supply with the 6.

@@jasvindersingh-2 there are so many options out there - many are good. The mini, though is almost in a league of its own, just because of its size. You’ll be hard pressed to find a speaker that beats its footprint
