    It's the same thing a "physical" filmmaker does, they don't build a city, they find one, the don't build a house, they find one, and if they do need props made, they are made for their visual attributes, not their actual attributes. Filmmaking is about what is seen, no matter if it's practical, or digital, just focus on what is being seen in the scene. Example, I watched someone recreate a scene in UE5, they created a whole 4km landscape, but the entire scene took place in a vehicle, only a few frames even looked right outside the vehicle, a lot of wasted energy, time, and pixels. This is something I need to remember when planning,... thanks for the video, it helps to put things in perspective when you feel overwhelmed.

    Considering how compatible Iclone and Unreal Engine are, I was expecting a much more smoother migration process between them. Don't get me wrong, it's still immensely easy but adjusting the roughness of the models, tearline and scalp timeline etc. it's driving me crazy. Although limiting, I found myself buying assets from Reallusion store and working solely on Iclone for rendering my videos. Maybe it was their plan all along 🥲

    The era will soon begin where we will have the News and the "Nooz," no one in a very soon to be future, will be ABLE to tell the difference between a speech from the President or Prime Minister, or a "talk from the Prez, or the Prym", if you follow. I suppose what I'm trying to say, is as soon as those lip-sync problems are solved, who will be able to tell one from the other? We truly will be in "the Matrix." What say a flesh and blood human leader, though merely an "underling", gets a crazy idea, like a real life "How I Learned to Stop Worrying, and Love the Bomb?" And have "the Prez" give us all a ten minute speech on "why I let the Bombs fly," while we're all stunned, like 9/11, hundreds of millions of people around the World just simply sitting, glued to the screen, Mr A.I Prez, the President of the USA, tells us why we all had to "die." ... And just like that, "Transmission Ended"

    AI is machine learning which means Sora will need source material to learn from. When I look at the examples, it is pretty clear that the results are just a synthesis of video materials that the AI has consumed. For example, the Gold Rush town video has the same quality as many old western movies made in the 1950s and 60s. The source material is obvious. Sora results will never be better than the source material. In order to get better, Sora will need more and better source material and where will that come from? Human filmmakers. The reality is that everything Sora produces is just derivative content.

  • @starsnoireart
    @starsnoireart 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I feel like AI content lowering the barrier to entry for creation will just lead to an excess of low to mid-quality content and making it harder to find good stuff -- even harder than it is now. I think that this may lead to a burst of new content followed by a massive decline when people realize how hard it is to 1) make good content 2) get people to care about it. I hope that this will lead to more curator-type apps, websites and algorithms that are designed to promote good quality content. I believe that many of these employers who are laying off their talent will find themselves in competition with these same talents, as AI will make it easier for people to get their projects off the ground. You can get an AI to write code for you. You can get it to make all your graphics for you. You can get it to help you write a story. Perhaps we'll get to a point where we can get AI to generate 3D assets for you. And as the tech gets better, we may reach a point far off the future where all creative media has had no human input unless regulations are put in place or more techy artists / programmers fight back with anti-AI technology like Glaze and Nightshade. I don't know what the future holds for real creatives, but I guess we'll see.

    Well, economies are headed for a crash. In the extreme people may no longer afford to get online and content creators dependent on subcribers and patreon will take huge hits and may have to close down. We may encounter what the DUNE universe called the "Famine Times". No one is going to have the luxury to indulge in these new toys. Also, currently, google's AI is being raked over the coals. The piblic are already souring on AI.

  • @mtbrocket
    @mtbrocket 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yup. I see both sides as I want images for my stories on my website but I can’t afford to hire artists to make them. So I am both a creator and a customer. I want both and I am sure there are a lot of people that feel the same way. But I have a question, aren’t companies already replacing talented artists with cheap low-wage hacks already? I predict that the talented artists will use AI to elevate the quality and scope of their art.

    • @wernervanpeppen4873
      @wernervanpeppen4873 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As mnetioed, the companies don't want great art. They want "good enough" art.... Talented artists cost a lot of money....

    • @mtbrocket
      @mtbrocket 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wernervanpeppen4873 But isn't that true now, "good enough" artists are being hired to do "good enough" art? You would think they would be the first to be replaced by AI, but will they not be needed, as they are the people who actually know how to get the "good enough" art from the AI (it is not like the CEO's will do it themselves lol)? Meanwhile the talented artists (or really, the ones willing to embrace change) will use AI as a tool to make new and better art? There is evidence of this happening now. Is there not an economic theory that states that as a product becomes cheaper to produce, it is used more often (LED TVs are replacing printed menus at restaurants) so would it not be just a change in the nature of the work? Will not people who were not able to produce art by their own hand now be empowered by AI to produce art? I just think the position of "we have to stop technology to save people's jobs" is untenable. That belief is that of John Henry, Paul Bunyan, the whale-oil street lighters' union, and monks writing books by hand. That way leads to societal death. Why are people not more afraid of that? I don't think we have to stop advancement, we just need better Government that can give people purpose, pride, resources, and good, enforceable, laws (like against stealing art or deep faking or scamming people) to help society absorb new technology. People who have the energy to be angry or afraid of AI have enough energy to step up and vote, volunteer, and run for office.

    On one hand, tech bro's have a long history of overpromising and lying through their teeth on the long term capabilities of their technology. On the other, this is stuff should be scaring us, at the very least raising awareness of the consequences of this technology is important. I can see studios racing to adapt this tech and, hopefully, getting painfully costly bad results.

    BRAVO! Both of our journeys through the jungle of 3D are so close it's uncanny, and it is so refreshing to hear it relayed with such encouragement to others that want to create 3D films. Reallusion and Unreal Engine 5 have been my 'god send'. I came upon a cross roads not too long ago where I was trying to learn absolutley everything, and achieving nothing. I had seen the way Blender animation could look, and I wanted so much to emulate it in my own productions - but I, like you, am not a 3D animator; moreso because of the time it takes and how much time it takes away from all the other aspects of 3D filmmaking. I realised after learning what I could of Z-Brush, Blender, and Maya - that I also was not a modeller, but I learned the theory behind it, and it helped immeasurably. Deep diving into Unreal Engine and Character Creator 4/iClone 8 has been such an amazing experience and it was the right decision for 'me', not the most popular choices, but it was for me, and me alone, and I'm very happy with the results. One thing that has recently occured to me though, totally out of the blue, is after all this learning I started to doubt myself. It was if I was all-of-a-sudden fearful that I wouldn't be able to achieve the visions I had in my head. I realised that I was doing far too many tutorials and taking way too many notes. In order to get back in the game I had to go back to square one and just start buliding, making, creating and imagining from scratch again. When I didn't know how to do something I stopped, looked it up, learned it, achieved it, and then moved on until the whole idea had been realised. I have learned and retained more about Unreal Engine this way rather than sitting through long 8 hour courses. BTW thanks for the iClone Lip Sync video - you will never know how much this has helped me. Truly.

    I think with games and movie entertainment people are getting into 3D to take matter in their own hands due to corporate failures on projects or not being in sync with fans instead do the opposite which can get quite frustrating. I'm getting into 3D I'm a person with great ideas and have different talents, with drawing, music and sound design. Now that I see 3D is getting easier with other potentials like making cartoons it's a great investment to start learning it now especially with ai on the rise. I think they're probably most useful when you have a character with a lot of accessories, like a sword, shoulder pads, a gun belt, etc. You could link these into the character on a blueprint so that you don't have to keep adding them in new projects. I've also had to use blueprints when I've needed my character to interact with the environment, like footsteps in snow, or splashes in puddles.
