I turn the center knob counterclockwise a little bit,if it doesn't do the job, i do the same to the top knobs. I find my machine works best when top knobs are a bit tight.

That might need someone to come in to maintanance it. If you bought it thru stitch it international, they should have list.

I went back to the original settings when I got the machine. Since all the new settings, they don't have the cancel option when the machine happens to have an error. All I know is that I have my settings with the tension knobs a little tighter. You might want to clean the area where the knife blade comes out every time you start up. That's where the oil tends to come out, from which it helps me out, giving it a pat with something that doesn't have a lot of lint.

When you digitize, try to move the end of one area to embroider close to the start of the next area if it has the same color to prevent too many trims.

They also did a recent update again. I hope they make a new one. I went back to the original because if the machine messes up and the only choice is to shut down, the update doesn't have the option to cancel (go to the last point were it shut down) you only can go to origin.

@@Lillymaricreations Thank you. I did the April 2023 update and my machine is running better than ever. I was able to go back after my thread broke when doing an H test on a a couple of the stitches, so maybe it’s been corrected.

I wouldn't. Is it causing any problems with your machine? I'm not home to really see if it makes such a noise. If you feel it's off, you can go to FB SWF Mas-12 Group page. Make a video of start-up to see if anyone else is having that problem.

Are you running your designs 550, if not, try decreasing it to that area.

@@Lillymaricreations Yeah I was running 500 to 450 and I just keep having the same issue on same spot middle bottom of the design looks like when the needle gets to the bottom of the design the needle just looks like is just stiching straight down don't move side to side

Sometimes, it can be the design .

You can assign one that fits your design. As for the SWF, it will trace your stitch area, not the assigned hoop. If I know my design 7x8 or near 8x9, i will use my 8x9 hoop. Run trace and adjust accordingly.

No switch. I love using them both. Aways wanted ricoma when I went to expo. Got it and love it. The only thing regrets is that the swf mas-12 should have gone for the swf 15 needle bigger embroidery field and bobbin area narrow. It still has a quick cap system.

I upgraded to a Ricoma SWD-1501. That sucker is heavy, but I'm keeping it for mainly large flats for now.

Make sure when you're setting your cap not to pull the inner lining all the way down to the frame, I leave a tiny gap. So i know that the metal band that locks cap in place it is right over the edge of the frame. Then, when running my first trace, I make sure it doesn't hit frame. If it's too high, I lower my start position also on LCD Screen upper right corner. You can select that to move to needle 1, then i will use arrow, then place foot down and find center seam. After i do another trace. The bottom, near Bill, I lower the foot to make sure it's near the metal bar but not touching it. Then I run design. I try to run it slow, esp client purchase hats.

@@Lillymaricreations thank you so much. Your videos have been so helpful. I got my machine more than a month ago and I cant figure anything out.

I like them the same, the ricoma runs great,it takes up twice as much room but that's what I paid for, love the size of bed, the stitching is great and if I need help I refer back to my account which has videos for my machine, you can save your own parameters for Frame. I'm not sure if you can use it unselecting hoop. I did have a LCD glitch but resolved it by doing my own troubleshoot since I couldn't find the answer. The PRO on SWF we have is easier switching out cap hoop system. You have to screw and unscrew Ricoma. The bar can get moved to two positions, then there's cap Frame uses the 3rd position. I like SWF that can be used with unselect the frame to get a better field size to work with. So, keeping both. now that my SWF is personally maintained with oil and grease, it runs like a gem.

For thr updated version I left the new settings alone. The update is specifically for the SWF MAS-12. Hopefully they have an update for the trim. Sometimes it's great for me sometimes it's not. My garage is temp control but have my A/c and heat off at night unless it hits a certain temp so think the heat and cold can play a part in the thread leaving tails or coming out of the needle at time. Also other factors.

I get the issue every now and then. First I wipe down the bar because the oil can saturate it, it prevent from catching the thread or causing the blade from cutting the top threads. If that don't work loosen the center tension a bit or if it's all then loosen the bobbin tension just a tiny bit but before all that open up the bobbin plate and make sure there's no thread stuck in the blades.

The black velcro bar behind needles since the oil hole sometimes moisten that area a little to much. I also dabb around the picker and were the oil comes out. Make sure you use a cloth, or something that will not leave debris.

3 embroidery programs? Meaning different machine or digitizing? My laptop I have the SWNS, Embrilliance, hatch, glowforge, now. Chroma.

For the SWF 12 machine, the max size mighty hoop it takes and what I used, is the 8x13.

Are the mats rubber underneath?

What do you mean? Placing bobbin thread clockwise, in the bobbin case? Or path of thread in the bobbin case? Or top thread?

I use Madierra and off brand too from Amazon they work great a few got rid of. It takes running design to adjust tension to get the machine were it needs to be sometimes thread sheds can be old thread, tension not right or design to dense. I still use cardboard bobbin I get those on Amazon. It's half cost of the magnetic ones. I prefer the extra go to mighty hoops and stabilizers.

I pick a hoop to center the machine and then unselect the hoop. Then trace to make sure it wont hit the sides. If you know the design is within the 24x24. It will not go crazy.

75/11 organ ball point. I left the needles I had prior to making the hat. I am getting 15 more hats to do, so will be replacing those two needles after.

Thank you, the sticky stabilizer is a hassle.

I actually don't have any problems with my stitching with the cardboard bobbin. Ran a bunch of blankets and aprons for Christmas and a hat without thread break.

I have so many issues with mine 😢I'm so frustrated with it lol 😅

I have done a few caps, just not with the cap plate. Working on some Christmas embroidery project when I get them all done hopefully will run a cap on the machine with the cap plate.

@@Lillymaricreations Thank you. i was just wondering because you would think the folks have been struggling and questioning about doing caps, out of all the videos Stitchit has made they never mentioned it, even on the fb pages. I do have another plate as well.

Yup, when I got it all they said was just click the cap driver in and it's ready to go. The plate is made different and available so it's meant for something. When you google swf cap plate this pops up too.

If you have the USB that came with the machine the SWNS should be in there. It only works for PC not a MAC Unless they updated it. I bought my machine last summer

@@marcocastaneda334 to use the software you need it or try stitch it international. You really don't need it sometimes I just transfer my designs directly too.

Make sure the design is within parameter if you choose a hoop, it shows on screen when your on trace. If you feel design can fit, then try to not select a hoop it will give you the machines complete limit but run the trace, do not pull down a needle if it hits the frame it may break that needle and or bend the area around the needle and do more damage. If it's to near the frame or continues with same errors then you need to reduce the size of your embroidery field design.

@@bkgallardo yes,( about the y and x). the cap driver is a bit tricky sometimes it can be centers on the Y and X with no problem or that one you have to adjust the center, I find at times it can be to low which is no problem unless you run the embroidery and I'd it is to high it can scrap on to the top of bobbin area. Either way most times it will alert you. If you k own your design is the diameter of that cap driver selection. You might want to check the parameter of the design in a embroidery software.

I know min 100- 150 max. Each of mine are different within that range.

If you have software you can run the simulator to see were the first color will run or Not sure what software you have, I have embrilliance but when you press print you can scroll to see the areas the color changes go I also use it to pick the right cones for the changes because the DST changes all my colors.

It’s Embrilliance essentials, as I don’t digitize them myself.

On it there is a setting so when export it if it's not correct it can skip area. Open up the DST version of your design after saving. If it shows skip areas it can be the settings.

@@rebeccamosley1500 check the setting here are the ones recommended to me. I had same issues with my letters. On embrilliance Under Preferences - Conversion - DST - settings max color-0 Commands trim-3 Chk Ensure Trims after 127

It's the button to convert photo to stitches but not really fond of the auto digitizing that it produced.

Go to float, then there's a + click on that to change it to a - so you can go back. I usually click on 10 a few times. It gives you the options of going back 1, 10, 100, etc.

@@Lillymaricreations thank you very much for your help...I'm loving this swf mas 12 machine...one more question...I was embroidering an image on a bag so I marked off the middle where I will need to start stitching but I can't get the needle to the exact position...is there an easier way to get it to the middle?

I have done it before by finding the exact corner of a design. But I had adjusted laser pointer prior to running to get it exact. I also run it in slowest setting to run that fist stitch to see if it hit that corner. If not adjust it then float to get that corner. After that I go back to the area I need to run next, my using float again. To finish off. I did that with the black sweater on one of the latest videos this year.

I like Madiera. Some of my threads not all from simthread unravel awful and get tangled with other threads. Haven't had any issues with madiera. Like gunold too.

Right by the red light on the embroidery machine make sure the switch is up I believe. If your machine is running when embroidering and needles don't engage.
