      Yum and yay!!! It’s really good but I’m still not 1000% completely satisfied with the recipe. I saw several versions from creators on TikTok but none of them turned out quite right. Probably depends on the cottage cheese used and several of the recipes said to drain the liquid but I don’t want to 😂

    • @lovelybylisa

      Hey, I don’t know if this was your intention but commenting this is very rude and I don’t ask for or accept unsolicited opinions about my body. It sounds like you might have been led to believe that “healthy” bodies are small bodies but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Small doesn’t automatically equal healthy and large bodies don’t automatically equal unhealthy. Healthy is really more about what your body can do than just how it looks.

    • @lovelybylisa
      @lovelybylisa 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you so much for the comment and question! Such a good one!! In the past when I had to work on weekend days I prepped 6 or 7 days but it doesn’t leave room for the flexibility of a weeknight work lunch or dinner with friends. Then I start questioning if I carry those meals into the next week, etc. I’ve found 5 days is great and leaves space for big, fresh salads or sandwiches that would otherwise be challenging to meal prep! My husband also makes the best pancakes so I love when he makes them on a Sunday morning 🤗 we still eat in a similar format on the weekends but it’s usually meals that aren’t great for meal prepping. Lots of protein, veggies & fruits (complex carbs), healthy fats, and fiber 😊

    I am a busy student who has to start mealpreping for a week. I would like to know how you store you meals (eg-which ones go in fridge or freezer and how many hrs ahead you have to defrost them) after preparing for the whole week.

    • @lovelybylisa
      @lovelybylisa 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi! Thanks so much for the comment and questions! I’m so glad to read your meal prepping as a student, it’s going to help you so much as you’re so busy! I usually prep 5 days at a time. I store days 1-3 in the fridge (I keep my fridge set to 34-36° F) and days 4-5 in the freezer (I keep my freezer at -2°F). I don’t usually defrost, but sometimes will defrost overnight. Safe food storage to mitigate bacterial growth is multifaceted ~ the length of time the food sits out to cool after cooking, the storage temperature of the food and the water content of the food itself. Freezing prepared food gives it a longer life and mitigates the risk of spoiling/bacteria. The USDA had a giant chart on their website and the general recommendation is below 40° F for refrigerated foods. I like to keep my refrigerator colder, and I have it set to 34-36° F, and I don't recommend refrigerating meal prep for more than 4 days at that temp, after that I recommend freezing! Adding a link here for additional food storage tips! www.fda.gov/consumers/consumer-updates/are-you-storing-food-safely

    I know it's an accident because of all the vegetables but it's all the color , medium brown. So you buy egg whites? Is it cheaper than just cooking a pan of egg whites and cutting it into however many servings you need? The yellows of the egg whites used could have been halved into the whites for breakfast sandwiches and the other yellows cooked on that Oriental lunch. Egg yellows would be pretty authentic on Asian food.

      Thanks for the comment and question! I have a Master’s degree in Public Health Nutrition and a major focus of mine is Nutritional Epidemiology. HFCS is essentially the same as table sugar in metabolic effect and safe to consume in moderation. It’s not something I regularly consume and can be part of a balanced dietary intake.

    • @johnniepaffe6027

      @@lovelybylisa It’s interesting though that before high fructose corn syrup was introduced there wasn’t NAFLD. I’m a retired registered nurse and have been studying what’s in the food we eat for a few years now. I try to eat organic as much as possible and at least non gmo if organic isn’t available. Your meals do look delicious by the way.

      @@johnniepaffe6027 Thanks for commenting back! This is a topic I could talk about all day!! Yes, NAFLD is more prevalent now that ever before, but eating an excess of HFCS is only one potential culprit. The way our food and healthcare systems are setup in the US don't do us any favors, either! As a retired nurse, you know more than I do how much the healthcare system in the US is broken. Similar things could be said about our food system, AND the greatest impact on our individual health/wellbeing will always be SDOH. Why is it that buying produce is more expensive that buying UPF, right? 😞 I always try to strike a balance. Day to day, I'm able to eat and food whatever I like, whatever the price point, which is an incredible privilege. I try to not demonize one specific food or ingredient overall, it's so much more complex than that!!

      Hi! Thanks for the comment and question! No apologies necessary! 🫶 It really depends on your health and nutrition goals. It's common that women are protein deficient, so implementing a high protein diet could be beneficial. My personal health and fitness goal is to build muscle and eating a high protein diet can be a integral part of meeting that goal 🤗

    How did you become so good at meal prep? Have you always been like that? And how do you find the energy (do you sleep early? Often eat something in particular with lots of vitamins like smoothies) ? Chukran (thank you) 🌹🌹🌹🌹

      Thank you so much for the kind comment and questions! 🤗 I’ve been cooking this way for about 10 years, so I’ve really figured out what works and doesn’t work for me. Once I got married I started cooking for both me and my husband so I had to adapt to learn how to cook for 2 people 😅 the principles remain the same so it’s just adapting that’s the challenge. And as far as finding the energy- it can be a lot of work, I won’t deny that! I just prefer to have all the work once per week instead of less work each day. 😅 I’m an early riser, so bedtime is often early for me. Until very recently I started work very early in the morning so going to bed early was always a nonnegotiable! Now it’s just become a habit. Generally, I’m very active! I live in NYC, strength train 3x per week, intentional cardio 2x per week, walk daily, play tennis, and I’ve been coaching strength training for the past 6 years. I try to eat a diverse, protein-rich diet with lots of different vegetables, fruits and complex carbohydrates! 🥦🌶️🥙 I don’t take supplements and prefer to get my nutrients through food whenever I can🤗 I think all of those ^ contribute to my overall health and I’m happy with that!! 😊

      @@ElinoMilanesi You're so welcome! I love helping people set up a system that works for them. And especially preventive health systems that encourage behaviors that promote health!! It's my speciality! It can be so challenging finding the balance between everything we need to do AND eating well, exercising, going to sleep early, etc. 💕 Start with the easiest one to accomplish and take it all one thing at a time- you can do it!! 🫶

      Thank you so much for the kind comment and question! Haha picky eaters just know what they like and don't like 😂 I always encourage everyone to meal prep meals they like eating vs the basic "broccoli chicken rice" that gets boring!! I have some recipes posted on my blog but I don't really follow recipes so it's hard to share measurements because I make it up as I go. I'm going to start sharing grocery lists with ingredients and then "no recipe recipes". Working on it 😅
