This is our work and adventure to make our dream of building our family farm come true. We need your help and thank you for supporting us.
What happened? Where'd you go? Loading Pigs and Recap 2022-2023
A short explanation of what happened. A conversation about the farm and getting small. We lost it all and are only here by grace of god and support of our family.

Garlic Harvest 2022 - edited by TC2, his first edit!
มุมมอง 3002 ปีที่แล้ว
Join us as we harvest our Hardneck Garlic. Spanish Roja and Music should be ready soon. We break out the 1940s Scott Beet Harvester and hit the field. We love our antique farm equipment. From our 1940s Case T6 manure spreader to our 40s road grader to our old beet harvester, we try to keep the old stuff running, and it fits with smaller scale farming well. We grow our Garlic naturally, in plast...
Using the 1940s Case manure spreader in 2022 - May be the only way we can afford fertilizer
มุมมอง 2102 ปีที่แล้ว
Got the cattle loafing area cleaned and added to the growing pile from the horse stalls. It’s only enough for about 5 acres, but it all helps in the long run! Trying to control our costs and stay as natural as we can. Keeping the old equipment going is rewarding. 70 plus years later it’s basically all original and managed to end the day with only a broken link.
Spring cleaning, chores, and farm work - go pro video from the kids’ perspective
มุมมอง 562 ปีที่แล้ว
Follow along as we work through spring tasks and making sure everything is ready as it greens up and migrating birds move back in. We are fighting to keep going… setbacks happen, but this year everything is on the line. They really do knock it out everyday. Keeping up with feed, water, and all of the sudden demands. Maintenance… repairs… just another day on the little farm as we try to make it ...
Using 1940s Stockland Road Machinery Company Grader to make field waterways
มุมมอง 4952 ปีที่แล้ว
Using an antique road grader to lay in some field waterways. The hope is that rather than “ditches” these will be easy to cross with field equipment. We will be leaving them in permanent grass as a buffer and filter to save topsoil. Sustainable farming takes some planning and preparation. Hoping this pays off in the long run. We’ve had this 1940s Stockland Road Machinery Company grader for year...
Horse Barn Update - insulated Feed room / Store room - concrete floor and finished ceiling and walls
มุมมอง 3202 ปีที่แล้ว
Steps and stages…. one thing leads to another, working on a budget means tackle what we can when we can but get it ready for the next step at least.. We finally built our insulated feed room. Now we will have all weather water, clean mouse free feed bins and the potential of adding a small hot water heater for hot and cold water in the barn! Huge thanks to Brian at Yates Complete Concrete for t...
Loading Cattle - using new alley on the bud box
มุมมอง 3252 ปีที่แล้ว
Updating on our progress. New alley in use, separating and loading our angus and black baldie cattle. The Blue Heelers were a big help, but all in all the cattle really used the system as expected with little stress or issues.
Cattle and pig handling system update - finally finishing the chute and loading alley
มุมมอง 4292 ปีที่แล้ว
Just in time for getting our steers loaded, we finally got a break in the weather after waiting for materials for so long. We finish the loading alley from the bud box. It was just warm enough to get in the ground, but man it was muddy. We would have held off for dry weather but our slot for processing was days away and we just couldn’t keep pushing this off. It’s getting less and less stressfu...

Do you know what the paint color code is for the orange and green? We are getting ready to restore a t6 spreader and not sure what the exact colors are.
I need a dog just like you describe I stay home & lost my European Doberman To DCM at 9 He was huge 100 lb Im petite But he was trained to be my service dog. He was also a great guard dog Discerning Total velcro I am very traumatized by the genetic Heart issue European Dobermans are probe to I had him checked dna Checked his breeder out But at 7.5 he started w the heart issue Even being fed a super heathy mixed diet w organs, grains, supplements For heart He had perfect recall He could read my mind and Vica versa
Ive owned 3 cattle dogs in my life. U couldnt ask for better mates.....'Wrecks' 93-05....'Izzy' 99-15...and 'Ashya' 10-24.
Bang on there the best I am on the same page as you I do exactly agree I worked and brought them up the same as you I sold many and usually to feedlots never failed once. People are only now realize how smart and loyal they really are. Thankyou
I have trained several liters of border collies. I did the same thing you are doing. Simple one word commands. And give lots of rewarding phrases. And head scratches. Be patient with them. You are doing a great job with them.
That is very nice to see a good video for getting some ideas.
I hear you brother! From what I've seen, I think you and I have similar professions. I'm a maintenance and remodel contractor and just shy of turning 60. Been a tough several years for me too. Pandemic and then hit with health issues the last 3 years. I'm calling it "forced retirement"... No pity party here! But it has been very difficult to gain back anything close to what I lost... So far... Anyway, I like your story and I like how you do things, so you got me. If you need anything, feel free to ask. I'll do my best for you. Where you located?
I have a 72g rv generac generator. Can I use it on my house as a stand by generator?
Love it bro, I agree 💯. Anxious nature innate with a one focus on master. They are such an awesome breed so long as you understand them. Best dog off the start I’ve had & still young so will reserve any praise till maybe cpl more years but right now I’m like you & very impressed. Like you say, dog needs to know commands & discipline. Best outcome to be strict with this early as will open up its freedom & future❤
sorry youre going thru it brother hopefully it will get better
My girl going on 14 years picked me at less than 2 days old.
ACD's are more likely too herd you away from danger (nipping and pushing) rather than taking on that risk directly because they're smart.
Good video!
Thanks! New to arystone technology for WiFi at gate in Oregon.
Nice to see their tails weren't docked.
Got a blue buddy. Love him!
Had one years ago, best dog, smartest dog you learn from them always learning, most importantly run run run. They will learn hand signals when working
There is no cuter thing on planet Earth than a Cattle Dog puppy. The way they can learn new commands in as little as one rep is nothing short of astonishing. This breed is weapons grade perfection. The "Cattle Dog" is truly man's "Ultimate Best Friend". Imo...
I think u got it bro.
Igualzinho o meu
This breed takes great handling skills and time. Gotta keep'em tired.
How do u get a 12 year old blue to lose weight .
Thank you, awesome video, it's very helpful. God Bless
They were actually bred partly using dingos (wild native dogs) here in Australia, because no other dog from Europe could stand the harsh outback working conditions. Many of the unique traits may come from that.
Its the Google Algorithm playing with your head. This topic "pops" up because you're shopping for parts, researching how-to. Yeah, all of a sudden, everyone has a patch of land that needs security and we're all telling you which gadget is the best one. Why is it, that you cannot find answers anymore without using a computer? No one has a catalog anymore?
what's with the random jump cuts of music in and out...?
You sure know how to handle your heelers!. I have a red heeler I took all the way to Japan from Australia with me earlier this year. His name is Drover! It's an Australian name for a Cowboy of sorts. Cheers from an Aussie via Japan.
We rescued a blue heeler mix at about a year old. She may be a mix, but it must be like 90% blue heeler. She was found living on the streets at 6 months and spent six months in shelters. She had too much energy even for foster homes, but the shelter manager said that she was the best friend to every other dog there. We have a big fenced-in yard and lots of local dogs come and play with her, plus my kids drop off their dogs all the time, so we've got the resources to deal with her energy, plus I walk her for up to six miles/day. She is incredibly loving and the most wonderful dog, but when she sees something that sets her off there's no controlling her. Like you I'd like to find an expert trainer for this breed.
WHOA! What special dogs . I wish ours could herd by mere suggestion!
Awesome
cool video bro..
Queensland Heelers are the best for herding cattle, no good with sheep, too rough and they run out of steam. Very smsrt, loyal, tough, built like a brick shithouse, they are really pack dogs, blues more common than reds. Next to Kelpies the best working dog
them is some very nice dogs but they not near as good as my dog Grasshopper 😁
I love my Blue Heeler. We live in an apartment but she needs to be skated or run for 3 hours a day! She has such an amazing personality. She expresses herself. She talks. Complains. Celebrates. Stole my heart and my life.
GREAT VIDEO!
Got to warn you about those rural king exide batteries. They leak and ruin electronics. They don’t even last a year, lost some flashlights.
Cool operation. How do you close the holes after planting, or is that even necessary?
The water wheel adds a bit of water which makes a muddy slurry, and we push the clove into the ground slightly.
Estou com meu blue reeler de 5meses em casa urbana estou a fazer atividades com Ele no quintal espero que seja suficiente pra ele ser feliz
Just keep spending quality time. they need work and exercise!
I think your child has the food bucket.
technically you are correct. but the cattle clearly were interested in the pups.
Hook me up, with an 8 week "blue" (not red) heeler, for an incredibly good price, please. I'm 75, and I don't make a great deal of income.
stay tuned!
Hi
hello and thanks for watching
Yes sir! We love this breed! We have 4!
awesome! they are a heck of a breed!
Beautiful dogs! Beautiful breed!
You are so kind, thanks! Wonderful breed and we love them!
Yes Sir you are absolutely right. I've had a lot of great heelers in my life. Very pitculer on look for aale and female for raising babys. I did that for 30 years. I did have a great reputation for having the best in Texas panhandle
Thanks for sharing!
Get a dog they say. It will cuddle with you they say. Texas Heeler will not cuddle.
aww… we’ve got a few cuddlers but they all have their own personalities that’s for sure.
Thanks for information love our healer we are slowly learning to work cattle together:)
Kinda took a pause… but they can walk right by the cattle or engage when commanded… so getting good results as we learn
One of the greatest breeds of all time my boy is 13 still backflips no matter how much I try to tell him to stop & slow down.
yeah, we’ve got one that was taught to jump up to get a target ball, now jumps up at everything!
When my Heeler and I are inside/indoors she absolutely will not be less than 2 foot away from me., ( I know what you mean about 'toliet dog' !) But! When we are outside she completely ignores me. 😂
so it’s not just us!
Beautiful pups!😻😻😻
You are so kind
You might not be an "expert". I don't think anyone truly is. There are ALWAYS new things to learn. Life is ever changing. I've trained lots of dogs over the years. But This was fantastic to watch!! You're doing an amazing job. I love that the cows are so calm and curiously following the dogs. Seems like a much nicer/less stressful way of doing things. YOU have just become an expert for this method. I live in Australia, where these dogs originate. I've never seen this before. Own it mate!! You could call it the Twin Circle Method.... (I only just found this channel so I don't know you're name....sorry😊) Looking forward to seeing you develop this further.
thanks… going to start posting up more again… needed a break and will try to explain soon.
