Thank you for this ... all good from here. I play it at .75 speed to start 👍👊 And the Hendrix little finger reflex.... hits nothing but looks great, For now 🤫
The 40th anniversary model is better 😊
Sounds totally "authentic", & that maple neck is quite beautiful.
So glad I found this channel, thank you
I'm so glad you’re here!
What a video you just opened my eyes, I’m only 3 years in and still learning basics. This video just makes sense to me thank you.
That's awesome.
Hello everyone. I would like to inform you that for the whole early period Hank Marvin used a GRETSCH country gentleman including of course Apache. Since my own , That sound, came out, together with Roberto Pistolesi and Malcolm Addey (Sound engineer of the Shadows) it happens that many guitarists have bought a GRETSCH.
😊 by the way, I just got a Gretsch just like yours different pick ups, but I am inspired.!
Wow that's great!
Dug you rend ofMTV!
Cheers
Instructions! As usual . you are the very beft.
That’s awesome, I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel.
Although not a guitarist Of experimenting bassist I love these kind of instruments I hear so much Beatles in that sound.. Thank you❤ The particular model that I am fascinated is with the stereo model their approach to a stereo guitar which I think is phenomenal splitting the pickup itself
Thanks for checking out the video!
Try to get yourself hands on one of those true stereo pickup ones there's only one video out there that actually he actually does it and you get your left and your right sound out of the fridge I think it's an electrical there's only one video out there that actually he actually does it and you get your left and your right sound I think you would do it a lot a lot of Justice and thank you again for responding
Excellent advice as a professional drummer.I worked on perfecting my rhythm for years.Just fell right into guitar playing thank you
Yes, drummers have half the challenge in the bag already!
Hey bruv cheers for the breakdown of these cool links. I play in a punk band and defo going incorporate these into my playing . Love the blues
Nice!
Great lesson and thanks Darren.
My pleasure Angus.
Excellent 🙏🙏
I'm glad you enjoyed it John.
Thanks ....so very cool for sharing in detail I can't wait to try these patterns.
You are so welcome! Have fun:)
Very cool, thank you 🙏🕊️
Thanks!
Sounds good
Thanks
Thank you so much this was a missing piece in my playing
Awesome- Glad it helped!
Most important question. Who made bar replacement bridge on your Golden. What material. The sustain is very much improved.
Love his style it's perfect
Hi thanks for the lesson. How do you pick to achieve speed? Can you show how to coordinate the pick up and down? Cheers
Thank you, this was one missing link in my guitar playing/Improvisation!
Glad you found the channel.
Great fan of Cliff Richard and The Shadows. Still have all The Shadows LP's Vinyl from the '60s-70s. Import from UK on EMI Label. It's hard to have a favourite, i just love them all. Many thanks for sharing it with all of us. 🇨🇦
You're welcome - glad you found the videos!
Breaking the bank or breaking INTO the bank?
What a fantastically informative video I really enjoyed watching it and you helped not only me but I feel a lot of people understand that special sound I’m still learning to play not very successfully maybe I’m a bit to old at 70. But the shads are my favourite group I’ll keep trying thanks buddy
Never too old mate!
My style of playing the guitar is to utilise the 'Listen and Play' technique by playing along with the song/tune. That way I can play along with The Shadows, The Ventures etc.
I play six string bass will this method be better for bass
Finally I understand how the Gretsch switching works! Thank you, Sir - nice video, lovely tones 👍
Glad it was helpful Paul!
Well done sir...this is one of the best reviews I've seen in a long time. And yeah! Gretsch...what's not to like?
Really like your style of teaching. I've been wondering how these phrases come together because I could hear there was some techniques being used when I listen to the music of those artists you mentioned, but didn't know what those techniques were. A lot of questions answered for me in this video, glad I'm subscribed! :)
That's awesome!
Ty ❤ i just bought a guitar
AI thumbnail is cringe and lazy.
But it got your attention.
Wow! Ok- but trust me - its better than if I drew it myself lol. And there's no artist on the planet that would make me a custom piece of art every Friday night for free.
Some great playing there and a terrific demo of the 6120. Can you do the same for the Duo Jet? Maybe it’s just me but I don’t get Chet Atkins. He’s obviously a killer player ( much better than I’ll ever be!) but his records sound dated. Eddie Cochran still sounds exciting and full of life even though the records are over 60 years old. I realise this is heresy and if there is a fantastic Chet record that I have missed please let me know.
George Harrison and his Gretsch guitar
Love it!
Really enjoyed this information on the Gretsch. I started on guitar in 1959 and the first album my parents bought me was Chet's "Mr. Guitar". Suffice to say it was just a bit out of my league, but Duane Eddy wasn't😉. Never owned a Gretsch, but have owned Rickenbacker, Gibson, Fender, and Epiphone ('68 version, not Asian made). Always wondered what all the switches were for on the Gretsch...now I know.
Glad it was helpful
A wealth of instruction in one video! Thank you again for being so unselfish with technique and insight into guitar playing. I love it because of my lifelong love for guitar. Thanks again😊
I appreciate the kind words. I'm glad you are enjoying the channel.
Fine demo of a 6120s versatility. Love my 62 double cutaway made in....................62! Great playing of course!
Very cool!
The Cure & Robert Smith
Just been listening to the cure!
Add a #Phase90, like #EVH so it sounds like a jet engine to add to the sense of blistering speed.
Brian Setzer Stray cat strut one of my all time faves. Growing up in the 70's he stood out and his sound.n songs really brought out the fun side of music for me. Some really great insights there.. thank you 😎🙏🕊️✨
Thanks for watching!
As soon as I hear someone say they're going to give away secrets it worries me I'm glad he don't know my secrets, I would be in trouble, a friend you could do without.
Maybe. Unless your the friend that really needs the secret hahaha. 😌
@@evergladesrhythm Yea I suppose so, I'll just keep quiet..
Of course Brian Selzer was my generation, but Chet, Dwayne Eddie,Eddie Cochran were the original. Thanks Darren again some incredible stuff! I didn’t know that about the string length I’m gonna get me one.jack Kinsey stuff also very nice!
Thanks Bob! Brian Setzer is so cool!
@@evergladesrhythm it's Steve.Eggmen on spotiy. Philly band not a copy band

Cool!
super
Thank you
Sorry if I missed but What kind of strings? Gadge ,brand ?
10’s Ernie ball
The way you break down these riffs/flavors is perfect. This is the best explanation and demonstration ive found. You gave it to us in bite size pieces that make sense. Thank you.
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for your encouragement
Is your Squire made in USA? Are they as good as Fender
They are not made in the US, it is comparable to a Fender. They are great guitars for the money.
@@evergladesrhythm thanks mate. Have always thought about owning a Squire one day.
Shredding on a Gretsch. Who'da thunk?!
I know right?!
Thank you for the great video. Great ideas are often overlooked. Thank you for this breakdown.
You are so welcome!
Lots of cool and useful advice like pick two notes clean before a hammer on or pull off.... I'm never going to be very fast... My mits are giant and I play drums and I have spent my time there..... so it's all good .... I have put the time in on guitar but it isn't my gift.... I like how much integrity and little ego you bring the game.....
I appreciate that, thank you.
Did you know that James Burton (who some claim inspired the Shadows to order a Strat even though James was a Tele guy) had a band called The Shadows in the early 60s and endorsed Rickenbacker guitars ? Did you know that Hank never owned that first Strat ?
I didn't know about James Burton’s band, no!
