Well 3-1 according to YTV, who were so busy with close ups of Greg Shepherd they forgot the game had re-started.

Yep - it happened - fact. And they were lucky to get nil. Sorry about the picture quality - but then it is 27 years old. If you blur your eyes you get used to it about a couple of minutes.
I was there for Rotherham.. 9 years old 😂😂
Some cool results and what a team and manager. A goal at Millmoor is one of the greatest memories one can have.
Wonderfull!!! Premier league 70s!!! Thanks!!! 👍💪
Thanks for the upload. A wake up call for Norwich at the start of a promotion season (they obviously had never seen Towner play when they picked Muzinic at left back). Norwich scorer Greig Shepherd was later our village copper
I was there as a 15 year old CFC fan what a long day that was. Sad to think that Peter Borota is dead great character
I remember this game we were in the home end as we were escorted out by the time it took plod to put us in the away end we were 2 or 3 nil down good days
2021 .. Anyone hear ?
The seasonal didn't start well for Norwich but ended in glorious promotion.
Actually sat in the new stand that was on the cricket pitch side with Dick Goodwin. Feels as it is a life time ago but certainly could have named our scorers that day. Great day out !
Wow not seen this in a long long time ! Was at bramall lane and remember it so well , halcyon days indeed .
Wovwum
Bad day for Chelsea
What a game, remember it like yesterday, the first and last time I've seen us win at Bramall lane!
Still to meet a Chelsea fan that can remember this game.
I was there
I was there, and the next season when we lost 1-0
There just a team built purely on money. Never won anything you could call fair, as you can see here. Imagine if there were a level playing field. Unrealistic I know but imagine.
League Championship 1955, League Cup 1965, FA Cup 1970, European Cup Winners Cup 1971.
What a great player and manager Ronnie Moore was for the Millers UTM WARAW RTID
The tormenting I got after this lol
Oh my word. If this happened nowadays there would be complete outrage at Chelsea.
We were utter shit
Unless my memory fails me we also beat them 0-4 at Stamford Bridge later that season too.
4-1 mate ..give us some credit 😂😂
I was in the crowd with my girlfriend for this game. Wonderful afternoon spoilt only by the Chelsea thugs running riot after the game.
Still magic after all these years!!!
RIP Rod Fern.
Possibly Rodney Fern's finest hour in a Millers shirt. RIP Rod, thanks for the memories.
These days the nouveau Chelsea often bait us oldies with "you're be telling us you were at Rotherham next!" I was and can offer no excuses - 6 of us did not utter a word in the car coming home til we got in the pub and laughed that we would look back on it one day and laugh some more!
fckin miss chelsea away days 80s/90s...best days of my life.....was there, think it was miners strike era,...coppers that day . nastiest cunts ide ever met....wankers all day.........
Im Chelsea through and through. First game was 1977-78 away at Everton. Score was Everton 6 Chelsea 0. Next game was 1979-80 Notts County 2 chelsea 3. So trust me over the years ive seen some pathetic peformances but this was chelsea! thats why we love them and Chelsea had a GREAT AWAY following. When we was shit they say but not shit no more are we? CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE NOW. I remembere this game i was 11 and i saw the score on Ceefax lol. then 2 years later chelsea stormed division 2 with Dixon,Speedie etc. Rotherham was relelgated in 82-83 i remember also. I have respect for Rotherham though, no hate her unlike Manure and shitty whom i despise lol. Keep the blue flag flying...unless you wear red lol
crikey remember the game Well ! was at bramall lane to see the mighty Millers triumph , what team we had UTM
sad memories no more...
Well done Rotherham. Chelsea one of 5 most supported clubs in English history, before Abramovic.
ROTHERHAM UNITED FC BY FAR THE GREATEST TEAM THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN!!
The score was a surprise but not the result, as United finished 7th and Chelsea 12th.
2015 look were we are now championship ⚽️⚽️
+GoGamerz GnO Yep, context is dated now. We are in good health off the field. Council were co-operative, maybe they saw the vid!! No I don't really think that! Vid just summed up how I felt at the time.
Live watch every rotherham game we love u rotherham we do
fucking hell, I was at all these games with me grandad, back in the days. SOOOO close to going up to the old 1st division. Tony Towner and Ronnie Moore lived just round the corner from us, we knocked on Tigers door god knows how many times for autograph he must have been well pissed off!
I've been thinking about this and other football videos of the time... thing is, if you look carefully at Fern - the Willie Thorne lookalike- ie his general build, stomach definition etc, you'd say there's no way in the world he would be a footballer at any higher level than Sunday League these days. This is the equivalent of the Championship, well the players there now all look so fit and toned, this poor guy would be left gasping after 10 minutes in a game today!
Willie Thorne had a good game didn't he?!
Nearly lost me dad over the top of the away end when garner smacked that in. We were top deck that day, right at the front. Amazing game. Millers all over them like a tramp on a dropped bag of chips!
UTM
anyone know how to contact ThePieFace? there are one or two clips of great interest to me......any help would be much appreciated
Without a doubt the greatest Rotherham Utd performance of all-time. I was there with my granddad. He died last month aged 89 but thankfully lived to go to the New York Stadium (he called it 'Bloody marvellous'). We watched this clip not long before he died... so epic. Ronnie coming to the club was key, but for this kid, Rodney Fern was the man. Forrest Stancliffe Breckin Towner Mountford Goodwin... all true RUFC legends. Golden days.
You do but they shave their hair short, No comb overs these days. There's loads
Wow...Brill memories
YAY!! I was there
super reds will av ya
The Auto Windscreens cup?
Classic! :)
I have the shirt that Rodney wore this day framed on the wall, happy memories.
5-0 ;)
How you finding that 11 years later ;)
