@@JustJasonKeto thanks! Just working on powering my Dash Mini 😊
That's the life.
Love it guys!
Oh my there it is........enjoy.....
Love your setup in the bunkie. Was there a video on the install a the diesel heater? I was wondering what brand it is and where you got it
@@mikecrawford9946 thanks for watching. We got it from Amazon. This is one of the 5-8kw heaters. Amazon link: www.amazon.ca/dp/B0CBLM7V6Y/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_AB3KDPDJ63Q0MYWHTS51?linkCode=ml2&tag=mattandmous08-20 The install video is here; Tiny Cabin Diesel Heater Installation th-cam.com/video/JRrsEeRyk7Q/w-d-xo.html We also have a couple on a slightly different model I use with my truck roof top tent.
Great, thanks for the info
You should connect the other side of the heater into your caben to. It’s the air intake that will be blowing into the cabin. I would not trust it in with the exhaust.
@@wardraven8755 another person commented about the air intake. It’s a good idea. Originally that was the plan but I hesitated as some documentation I found recommended against having the air intake at the same area as the heated air - suggesting it should be fresh air. They being said, heating the cabin air via the intake seems more efficient. 😀 I’ll add it to my list of things to do next. Thanks for watching and have an awesome weekend!
@@mattandmouse ok the air intake coming out of the bottom of the unit should be out side getting fresh air but the cold air return that should be inside the space you are truning to heat. Go look at any furnace or heat pump they circulate the air you are heating or cooling. It will make the heater more efficient.
I love the tour.......the diesel heaters are great we have two of them in our boat......works awesome........How will that mini stove do in the dead of winter........have you tested that yet or will this be the first winter for it??.........I am guessing that you may need something larger for the minus 20 or 30 degree temps........great tour as we have only started following your channel recently and the update was informative Matt.....thanks....
@@codraven57 thanks for watching! Funny you should ask about the stove in winter, we’re at a mild -8C right now and the stove is keeping the Bunkie at 19C. Overnight it dropped to 9C without more wood.
@@mattandmouse Impressive!
Bathroom situation? Outhouse?
@@MsAnon4223 yeah. We have an out house behind the Bunkie that currently has a cassette toilet. In the spring we’ll move to stage 2 and get a composting toilet and shower installed.

Oh, I forgot. Have a great weekend.😊
You too!
Awesome job guys one quick question what is your square footage? Also, do you remember the name of the tape that you used at the base? OK well I have another question. Have you had any troubles with the diesel heater igniting have you had to clean it yet?
Thanks Thompson! It’s a 159 sqft bunkie. They now make larger ones and a version with a loft! The tape I used is here; amzn.to/3O7YVor I’ve not had to clean the diesel heater yet, but I suspect that is coming up in the spring! Only issue with it not starting was because the batter didn’t have enough voltage. This was after 4 nights use.
@ awesome I’ve looked at the Bunkys. I have a different one. It’s just shy 500 ft.². It will now be springtime before I get to build. I’m going to be setting a diesel heater up under my fifth wheel. Just trying to figure out the best way to do it thanks for the info.
The tape link I posted earlier is a multi pack. This is the extra wide tape amzn.to/3YQVXJU

It looks great you have done a great job well done 👏 😊
Thanks Jill!❤️
The views are stunning! It was a narrow margin, yet the performance was commendable. New friend. Excellent sharing💖
@@NewHorizonsTravel thanks for watching. We absolutely love it out here.
Probably should have re-thought that one after the first pull 🤔
@@JustJasonKeto yeah. It’s interesting because I had three camera angles. And from those, it’s obvious what happened. From the quad and Jody’s vantage point, it didn’t look that bad. But yes, a re-evaluation should have been done!

Too bad I can't send the guy that roasted Daryl to roast you. 🤣 Lol just kidding. I think you guys did great! Sometimes stuff just happens. Champ & Mighty Mouse for the win!
Yeah, I may regret asking for a roast, but yeah. sometimes, it hits the fan and we deal with it. I think it's more genuine to show the failures rather than a 100% rosey view all the time. That's life ! Thanks for watching & have a great weekend!

Yes, it was a humbling reminder that we still need to take care outside. Thanks for watching!
That was very close but doing a great job 👏
Thanks Jill. I still have the scars to prove it happened!
Hey guys, great job lots of firewood now to fill up the woodshed can’t really say much. I’ve been there done that. Glad you’re OK. I love the stump and the roots part very clever lol have a great weekend.😊
Thanks Thompson! It was a solid reminder to take a little more care. But yes, we should be able to fill the wood shed! Have a good one!
Good actioncontent, but maybe give Jody a handsaw for safetyreasons :P

This is an interesting introduction to your content. Keep up the good work you've been doing here. Looking forward to much more from you.
@@tuberchat thanks for watching. This was a fun project that has been on the plan for a few months. Have a great week!
Just so you know, that intake pipe is for the combustion process, the air intake that pumps the air into the cabin is on the left side of the heater with the perforated cap over it, air is sucked in there pushed over the heatsink/combustion chamber and then blown out the pipe into the cabin.
@@Carlst17 ah. Thanks man! I had it completely the opposite in my head.
I use the Tetris method for stacking. Daryl just looks at me like I'm crazy. 🤣 Awesome job!

Hey Mat, great job. I love the green roof. My favourite colour now overhang I am a big believer on overhang on each end and sides. Great place to hang shovels and stuff but hey, that’s just me . I am very jealous because I am looking at my wood pile and it’s getting wet and I need to tarp it. Have a great weekend.
@@exploringmybackyard thanks Thompson! Mouse has already told me we’ll need a bigger one next year - eek!! Good idea for the overhangs though. I think if I’d planned it out better I could have added a better overhang but at the time I was trying to use lumber with out too much cutting.
@ hey man, I totally get it. The cost of lumber these days is insane as I sit here in the rain looking at my wood under a tarp. I am jealous trust me lol have a great weekend, my friend.
Matt the wood shed looks great, do not paint as per Jason. Lol. I see you have the same issues with lack of sun as we do! Uggh. I think we might cut some trees this weekend. We'll see how it goes. Jason is cheering your tea with his Molson. 🍻 Have a great weekend!
