Quality podcast. I used to play spelunker 1 + 2 in new brighton arcades. Along with pitfall 2 I really enjoy these exploration games. Still got spelunker on famicom which is ridiculously hard.

Looks like its evolving into a great place. Nice to see my old (And Whitney Roberts) Gravitar made it there.

What a fantastic looking arcade! I wish them every success, nice to see a place full of flashing lights that aren't fruit machines these days.

Great cabs as always. I prefer to visit Bury... more cabs etc. Not done Blackpool AC yet. This Leeds location needed a taxi round trip from where we were staying. But apart from that, it was good. And the Leeds had the sit down Warlords cocktail Vs Bury's upright 2 player version.

Leeds has the better choice of arcade machines, but the main reason I preferred Bury was because it had a better cafeteria area. I'll have to go down to Bury and Leeds again next year so I can compare and contrast the two venues. Blackpool does have the best bar area, bur falls way behind when it comes choice of arcade machines. A wishlist for machines I'd like to see is Virtua Fighter 3, Hyper Neo Geo and Atomiswave games.

I was so impressed last time I went there. Not as good as Bury, but still some great games. I played that weird vs Balloon Fight, 2 player, video pinball, and Baby Pacman, with the pinball underneath. Looks like you missed the mezzanine area above the restaurant area.

Anyone know when they got the virtua fighter cabs in?

They have a viewlix with an exa arcadia board installed near the candy cabs. It was playing dodonpachi sdoj when I was there for father's day

Nice video Shaun. You missed a few cabs above the cafe area. You can go left at the row of Namco cabs to get to it too. Think you had a pic at the end of them. The Wario burgers are really nice there.

I used to spend a lot of time there when I was at the uni, sadly the owner closed it last November since he couldn't afford the increasing electricity bill, so much for the "city of culture 2025" bs when the only cultural important place in town is shut down. Now I could only go to the arcade club in Leeds, yes it's bigger and better and in Leeds but they never got the Chunithm I played a lot in Bradford.

Nice video. Very psychedelic feel to the event…… I couldn’t make it this year, but always a great day out for all ages. Revival and Play Expo Blackpool - the go to events now every year. I noticed Kim Justice walking right behind you during filming……… who has a nice Arcade hardback book coming out soon. Perhaps an interview for the podcast?

We have mini arcades and bartops which are more practical when space is at a premium, but does anyone make any ‘good’ mini pinballs that are not the virtual type and don’t cost the earth….?

Great vid Shaun, was nice catching up with you at Pinfest and play some games. The Williams Firepower we played there in the corridor is now in my games room with new rubbers and a polished playfield. It plays great!

As a regular, it actually does get pretty busy earlier rather than later. It’s mostly just because of the kids and all that. 6pm onward they all have to leave and it’s a bit more emptier than it would’ve been. Busiest day is honestly probably like Saturday or something and busiest floor maybe 1st floor? (The 1st upper floor, not to be mixed with ground)
