I agree. It’s not like these were difficult to rekey to begin with.

This is the dumbest thing ever. (Have only seen “sticker retainers” on the cheapest Grade 3 locks.) When the adhesive wears off (which it will eventually) the pins and springs will fall in to the inside of the knob.

And how does one get the cylinder out?

I'm going to try to install it myself because I need to learn this😊

My neighbor tried to install the double cylinder for me and the key wouldn't come out from the inside but it did come out on the exterior side and I'm figuring he must have done something wrong because I had the same luck at my other residence before I moved here.

Thank you for this video. Now I know that "quick rekey cylinder" means "return to Home Depot with receipt, stop being dumb enough to learn your lesson twice, buy a Schlage."

Again, the 3 causes for this problem are a shallow deadbolt bore hole on the door frame, too many successful unlock attempts, or door misalignment. If you fix the problem and it doesn't come back with the door open, but it happens again with the door closed, it is likely door misalignment or shallow bore hole. Hope this helps! 👍🏻
