Just another day at a California airport

How can pilots and atc understand eachother on the radio. I can barely understand them with subtitles.

Doesn't matter who's right or wrong, just don't snitch. Controller causes a near miss? Don't snitch. Pilot takes off/lands without clearance? Don't snitch. Act cool and keep it on the dl. Only time a phone # should be given is for drinks later.

BA and Virgin. Always with their fucking safety reports! 🙄 I’m so glad I came to the US and fly for a US airline. I never would’ve fit in with those stick-up-the-ass BA pilots.

Aviation is very humbling, for both pilots and controllers.

Wait. It was the ATC who "got angry" and in a fit of petulance cancelled his landing when he could not safely fly the plane at the speeds she was demanding. Correct me if I am wrong, but I read elsewhere that she was fired.

UPTHE IRISH: Arrogant English prick of a pilot makes a laughing stock of himself & the other pilots laugh at him. Comments were hilarious & to crown it out the BA pilot causing the trouble wasnt listening. Fairplay to the ATC she took no shite.

Hats off to the controllers, who managed this situation in extremely professional, yet best possible manner. They made a safe landing because the controllers accommodated them, without wasting time in unnecessary details. Bravo 👏 👏 👏

Sounds like the controller, using the "belt and suspenders" technique, covered the situation adequately. Would have been better for both pilots to know what was going to happen, but redundancy, necessary for all communication, prevented a serious problem.

So much bs British hate in this comment section, it has nothing to do with nationality, ATC can't just say "I tried" lol, the BA pilot may have reacted in a less than cheerful way but he was not in the wrong, the other pilots just adding to the noise are not helpful.
