I publish a variety of Nintendo Switch content - in particular, game reviews for new releases, retrospective videos for older releases, and Summit Challenges highlighting a difficult endeavour in one of the games I've been playing. I'm always working on something, so go ahead and subscribe so you don't miss any content!
Without Swordfighter, Can I Avoid Echo Repeats in Zelda EoW?
In today's Summit Challenge, I'll be answering the ultimate question in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Without entering swordfighter form, can you complete the game without ever having to summon the same echo more than once? In other words, all echoes are one-time-use, and we can't use swordfighter form to defeat monsters or boost our jump height. We'll make exceptions for the ancient orb and purple barriers, but otherwise, this is going to be a huge puzzle, requiring us to dig deep into our echo catalog while testing our skill and creativity.

Collecting the BARE MINIMUM in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom
มุมมอง 8K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
I'll be collecting the bare minimum in a glitchless playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom in today's Summit Challenge. This means I'll be skipping heart pieces, heart containers, might crystals, food, accessories, clothing, bottles, stamp cards, dungeons maps, small keys, and rupees, except where absolutely required. I'll also be learning just 10 echoes: the minimum possible as f...

Metroid Dread: Dread Mode Zero Percent
มุมมอง 2.3K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Watch my attempt at Dread Mode Zero Percent in Metroid Dread in this instalment of the Summit Challenge series. With only 15 missiles and death in one hit, how many times will I die before completing the game?
I tried figuring it out on my own, but used 11 echoes
This little game did deliver. It has some of the most out of the box runs of any top down zelda game. Fascinating & thank you for sharing this with us.
I’m pretty sure Tri is female, isn’t she? You call her a he several times in the video, lol.
I can't believe Hawk works on lava like that. I did my own glideless Eldin (mostly using the flying tile), that would have made some parts so much easier.
10:19 EXACTLY!!! Like that’s one of the main parts of the series as a whole! It’s the whole point!
I honestly agree with IGN and have gripes of my own, but even I think 5 is a bit mean
i am really far in the game around 40h, been doing all the side quests, i kinda like them even tho they are rather on the simpler side. I feel like game is getting better the more you play it and then you kinda forget about the issues because you are adjusting to them in a way. Even tho this game felt more like "Mario and Luigi's logic" at first rather than equally "mario and luigi", it seems like more of luigi is shown in the game, his character is pretty elevated here to the point mario feels like just some character you are moving around where luigi is more of a center, especially shows in animations/cutscenes, luigi's logic poppin at your face whenever he comes up with some new ability or solution, mario just feels kinda like mario alyways had felt like, which is perfect flawless hero, what more do i expect his character to be? When you stand for a while in the game, luigi starts roaming around and observing stuff but mario just stands there. I conclusion i notice Luigi in the game more than mario even tho i literally move him around.
Im about 6 hours in and i think lengthy dialogue is to be expected since thats just how an rpg and this series goes, the hand holding i dont feel like has been over the top, nothing really comes up until theres a new thing to learn, i havent seen any choppiness or anything personally, overall the art, vibe, and gameplay has been great, love it so far
why be concewrned if IGN says something. IGN iare (pardon my language )the biggest idiots in game reviewus out theire. They are massive chills for alot of big AAA games. they have maybe one good revieuwer. the rest are chills the framedips are because the devs used an innacurate frame pacing. maybe because the game cant hit 30 througout the entire game. It seems to be an unreal engine problem.
IGN gave Concord and Dustborn 7/10... That's all.
I do have some problems with the game. Like you said, the first boss is way too late. Music is not as memorable as the previous games, but that's just me and the tutorials on how to play the game is pretty underwhelming especially for someone who has played the previous Mario and Luigi games.
I think this game is to slow and to easy. Its definitely not built as a continuation of the strengths in the series. Its more like an introduction to rpgs as a genre. I do regret buying it personally because i bought it digitally.
It’s not as bad as their xenoblade de review, because their criticism is valid, but after ranking concord a 7, 5 seems way too harsh a score
Some points imo were misleading
"And convince it to commit suicide" Was probably the best part of the video
These alternative run videos are off the charts. Thank you. Question: The title doesnt specify if this is a glitchless run. So it is glitchless? Speaking of whoch, Is reverse biding Bombchus a glitch?
i don't think reverse binding bombchus is a glitch because reverse binding is an intended feature and the game encourages creative solutions like that.
Thanks! It is glitchless. And yeah, reverse bond is a built-in mechanic so I don't consider it a glitch.
There’s literally no frame rate drops lol people just lying trying to get the switch 2 reveled by complaining. It’s the best looking and playing Mario game
For the faron temple boss, you dont need to hit its eye. you can just use an electric monster to activate the thingys on its legs to knock it down. tho i'm not sure if that would actually help in any way, but its another way to beat it
If IGN says it's bad, then it's good.
I could never be that patient. Well done.
Idea: minimum bind/reverse bind uses I feel like the only required use is the big rock (and even then you might be able to skip it) and then you can use -tulas for skipping reverse bind and being clever to avoid bind
Fun fact! You can even beat the final boss without using bind other than for the very final phase! It just takes some patience to wait for Link and your monster echoes to deal enough chip damage. (I somehow managed to go the whole game without realizing I could bind enemies I didn't summon...)
I really hope you play some of the previous mario and luigi games. Superstar saga and Bowser’s inside story are some of the best rpg’s ive ever played
The game looks good but is missing a bit of polish that usually comes with Nintendo games
The wind enemy also works instead of the wind cannon. I know this because i didnt even get the wind cannon untill i had beated the game and googled what echoes i was missing
IGNorant gave BO6 a 9/10 because the developers gave them $5M to do so. They always give them money so the game will get a 9 or higher. This is not a myth, it's true!
I am always surprised how many interesting challenges you find in this game, I thought minimum echoes was the only one.
Very impressive, it's so cool how this game has so many options to win
I can't believe this channel has so few subscribers! I love all the ways you're pushing echoes of wisdom to its limits even without glitches
As a person who has played all of the M&L games, I think my main gripe with the game is the lack of bosses when pulling the plug on the islands. In the previous games when you get to such points, you always had boss or some type of minigame to face.
Also, the music is mediocre. Not bad, but no where near m&L quality
I swear, you speak like every sentence is its own individual paragraph. (Not necessarily a bad thing, it just took me a while to realize why your narration felt so unusual.)
Seems like a 7. Probably a 9 on Switch 2.
In past games they normally make the player switch between the bros if they have to be separated I’m surprised it’s different in this game with the way Luigi is controlled
The frames will also be better on switch 2 when it comes out
That movement tech at 16:08 was crazy lol
Meanwhile IGN: 5/10 too much water
Another banger video - keep up the good work :)
2:42 & 4:58 isn‘t that a dupe use?
The second time is not an echo, it’s moving the urchin that’s already in the room (hence doesn’t count as a double summon). Well spotted though!
Oooooh! That makes sense! Yeah I just got that this probably was the case when I saw him use the bomb spewing enemy to get up to hebra mountain around 16:05 cuz he used that one earlier in the fire dungeon. In my defence, it‘s almost 2 am here rn tho xD😅
@ hahaha you’re all good bro I’m running on barely any sleep too 😂 This channel is great right? Such interesting challenges
2:11 - The main issue is that the game has poor frame-pacing, which causes it to look choppier than it actually is. The actual fps, at least in the 1st few hours that I've seen, has been pretty solid at 30 aside from that issue. Echoes of Wisdom is a completely different issue though, it aims for 60fps but will drop down to 30 when it has trouble with something. That's a more serious and noticeable problem. It likely would've been better if they just capped it to 30 so it wouldn't take such massive hits.
I agree with the issue about Echoes of Wisdom's performance. If I remember correctly, Link's Awakening also had that issue. Hopefully they run better on the next switch system.
You can damage Ganon with his own spear when he tosses it.
Ohhhh didn't know that!
@@SwitchSummitjust bind it into him
@@SwitchSummit You can also hurt him with his ball attack without Swordfighter or any echoes, as it has homing, and if you go in a giant circle to lead it back to Ganon it just hits him - and he won't even try to hit it back.
Wow, I could have made that battle a lot easier then! Sounds like only the first phase required an echo.
Could u do links awakening challenge run please :)
You're rapidly becoming one of my favorite challenge runners
Another good challenge run :)
11:18 You actually dont need swordfighter mode for this, you can summon a zirro using the summoning at a distance thing right at the spot where you need the bomb
The clip afterwards he seemed to need swordfighter mode for though, so I don't think it made a difference in the total count unfortunately
I had already summoned a Zirro and bombfish so chose a swordfighter exception instead of a dupe echo.
WHY are world maps all 'point and click?' Too pro 'fast travel' for ppl who can't explore on foot or sail the seas? This is a lame trend. Star Wars Outlaws is guilty for the same thing - point and see a cinematic to go to space, LAME. VERY LAME. Devs need to heed to this.
Next challenge, spider sequence break, get stronger echoes and use those to save on octorocks and urchins. Not shore how this works Youb used urchins, rock, peahat, more then once. ice, fire and electric enemies are good to use early on. For ensample you can take Ganon on wit just moa and his own weapon
I only summoned each of those echoes once. The other times I used them, I took one that was already in the environment.
Very cool idea!! Ice Octo was 100% the champ of the run. Very cool strat there.
You know, the dutch IGN actually gave it a 8.5 which is great!
I'd love to see a mod that makes you need to collect a shimmer for every echo used (like, you'd have to stock up if you wanted to summon a barrage of crows) or something like that. The automatons get so little use, so really anything that changes stuff to make the automatons more prevalent would be fun to see. I did a playthrough where I couldn't use monster echoes for combat, only object echoes, swordfighter form, and automatons (only exception was using Freezard for the two ice-required bosses since snowballs didn't seem to work, and using monsters for non-combat) and still never got a good chance to use the automatons.
I'm thinking of doing a run where I do the same thing but with minimal swordfighter mode usage (since most of the bosses besides the two ice ones can just be slapped with the sword for an easy win) or a run where I do the opposite, minimal object uses, attempting to use only monster echoes, maybe still including the automatons since I still wanna see if I can do anything with them.
Holy shit the rate of which the EoW videos are released is insane! Is it worth it to buy echoes? It seems many people seem to be making EoW videos right now, and I'd like to watch then without getting spoiled, but I'm not sure if I'd be very interested in the gameplay. Is it like Links Awakening+Totk, are the dungeons any good? I'm not expecting a book-lenght answer but I'd like to know if iyo it was worth buying. I hope the algorithm likes the comment lol
It's worth buying, it's fun with a lot of room for creative problem solving
I personally don't have it because I don't have a Switch with me at college, but I think it would be worthwhile. Also, you don't have to worry about the algorithm hiding your content because Switch Summit has way less viewers / subscribers than he should.
I think it's worth buying. The openness and sandboxiness does a ton for the replay value. If you want a more detailed review from me, I've already launched a 12 Flaws video, and I'll have a 12 Strengths video launching next week.
Echoes of wisdom is the best zelda game, it has the best parts of both classic and modern zelda, has incredible open-ended puzzles and the best soundtrack in the whole series, you have GOT to play it, it's really good!
