    Speaking on the "mis-understanding" of the characteristics of the LGBTQ community, and being over sexual or something like that. We have a Pride parade here, that is so XX rated. Theres naked men running down the street with rainbow capes. So it's a little disturbing. I know it's not right to stereo type people, but it is a little hard to take. If a straight man did that, it would be wrong.

    • @WhatIfProjectPodcast
      @WhatIfProjectPodcast 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I can understand the difficulty of understanding, which is why I find it best to ask questions - ask a friend from the LGBTQ community to explain why some Pride parades are like that and why it’s acceptable from a gay person, but not for a straight person - you might be surprised at the perspective they give you if you set out to learn from them and withhold judgement.

    Great!🎉 I am RC and also deconstructed quite a bit. You cant just gloss over the failures of my Church and stick to old believes, that we got it all right and that all men who leave the RC Church or know of it and dont join, will suffer ECT. How Jesus does that sound to all Protestants? All the absurd violence, the forgeries (like the Constantinian donation), the weird dogmas (Unfallability of the Pope, the Immaculate Conception of Mary, etc.), all the fearmongering, the limbus, the waste of miney have to be rejected. I would expect the same from Protestants when talking about their Luther, an antisemitic man, who rejoiced in the burning of witches (mainly poor ill women) and the brutal killing of peasants. Great guy. I am sure😢 I one day stopped believing in all of these cherry pickers, these bigots on both sides. They missuse the bible. Suddenly you dont hear much of Mt 7,22; Mt 25 and MK 10,25. Of course. We rather keep the money within the family. I admit. I was that way too. Trans: No way. SSA: no way. Huge cars: of course. Wars: of course. It's a pattern: What the Churches dont like and if they arent affected by the issue it is condemned mercilessly. Yet if it serves their purpose, they are surprisingly a lot more generous. They will find any justification in the bible and determine what is an allegory and what has to be taken literally, funnily always according to their own preferences. The two of you have shown hearts and guts! I am not there yet and probably will never make it with my primary coining as a Conservative RC. I know Jesus is with you. The real victims and the suffering depend on guys like you! Stay on track.❤

    250 years after Hume and Kant we should all moderate our certainties. Not to embrass an agnostic view would be an anachronism. Thats how science works. Yet we all know many people need certainty. Their ego is just not strong enough to embrass and to accept the diversity of life and the temporaryness of truth. Thats why all these snake oil salesmen make good money. Alexandria was the center of world gnostic teaching prior to Christ even. Anything that comes out of Egypt is filth. What Christ was bringing was "new wine" not repackaged gnoticism. The gnostics infiltrated the early church to bring her down. The flavor of gnosticism in these alexandrian writings smacks of Talmudism today. The problem with acedemics is that they don't believe in the miraculous or paranormal spiritual forces called demons. For them, It is all man centered. There are no spiritual enemies! That's the reason nothing is ever off the table according to them. Jesus scorned the acedemics didn't He? Spoiled food is spoiled food. Don't eat it. Many of those who called it spoil food actually suffered martyr's deaths. They lived virtuous lives and made it possible for the cannon we have to exist thus far. Acedemics are just enthralled with something new because they never got the message of Jesus teaching due to their carnal. nature. What we have in the Canon is a challenge to love God and love your neighbor as yourself and do it in a way that Jesus exemplified as if that is not enough. The acedemics say, "Nevermind that, let's scratch that itch for something new and exciting. Maybe we've been lied to". That's exactly what happened to the priestly jews during the Babylonian captivity. They got filled with demons mining rabbit holes of darkness when the God of truth was beckoning them to an obedient posture. When they returned to the holy land the religious system had become under the ownership of the Devil. So here we are once more near to the time Jesus comes again, the church is being filled with demonic ideas magnifique! How exciting. Tickle my ears won't you please!

    As a recovering Mormon and as a student of Sara’s, I can attest to Sara’s great advice! Ritually undoing your vows / oaths to Jesus, your Church, and other Christian powers is a worthwhile experiment! If you are super nervous about it, just experiment and see what fruit is born! Dear Glenn, I practiced evangelical Christianity for 14 years. I was very sincere and devout. I studied my Bible hardcore, but even then, I didn't like Paul. Of course, I couldn't express that openly, since Paul is the strongest influencer of evangelical Christian doctrine. Eventually I realized I simply couldn't hold up my end of the bargain. I had to leave the church, and simply BE who I am without fear. Let me tell you, I was so scared of going to hell when I left. It took me a while to shake off the fear. I still feel convinced there is some kind of Divine Force and possibly a Divine "Person." I have seen and experienced too many things to doubt that. I returned to who and what I truly am, which is, a believer in the Divine, but my practice is a personal private one. I kept God/Spirit, but let go of religion. I am a Witch at heart(NOT wiccan). I don't even adhere to "Witch- type" beliefs. I didn't become a Witch, I simply realized that I was one (and always had been). I am an "army of one." My faith is a personal and private one. If God truly loves me, I don't think God would truly let my eternal wellbeing hang in the balance simply because I didn't have the human strength to do the mental gymnastics to believe all the "right" things and adhere to some kind of formulaic "faith." I believe in a Divine force or being because of how the Divine has interacted with me personally. I can say now with a full heart, that God is good. And my connection to the Divine is intact. Brightest Blessings to you and your dear family. I wish you the utmost Peace and abiding Love in your heart. ~🌟~

    I'm fascinated by the many ways people are exploring Christian theology and life today. Some of it I find myself agreeing with. Some of it I strongly disagree with. Then there is a lot that I just don't have an answer for. It's interesting to hear you refer to yourself as a panentheist. My concept of God has changed over the years as well. I too would call myself that, at the very least, a modified theist. Good conversation!

    I see the miracle stories as complex and multifaceted. First they serve the purpose of being very much like parables, they teach a lesson. Second, most religions that claim a personal God that loves you also claim miracles because they reassure that God is interested in you as an individual. It shows God is in control and can change or mold life’s chaos into something useful. Many people, even if they don’t believe that God outright heals people will talk about God working in their lives and giving them purpose. It’s a psychology that isn’t intended to be deceptive at all. Those who teach it believe it just as much as those they teach. And lastly, they are intended to show Jesus as fulfilling Jewish scripture and having power over chaos, sickness and death which were not seen as natural forces by those of that age but as demons, angels or gods. And Jesus is spiritually a king of kings having power over the gods, or angels, as spelled out in the book of the revelation where the seals to open the land deed scroll are followed by the trumpets that announce the fulfillment of the transfer as the contents of the scroll are acted on. Then that power is used to punish the wicked by pouring out the bowls. These are directly related to the miracles and the struggle of who has the real power which is tied to the second point, reinforcing both.

    I think Constantine was more of a politician than a Christian. I'm not to sure about his "vision" in which Jesus said "support me and you will kick ass on the battlefield" either.

    What I've found the hardest in the past decade is to see/ learn how the Christian right in the USA has been the main supporter of so much of this damage ie without them, DT would never have been elected; without DT in the WH, there would have been less rise in authoritarianism/ damage to democracies around the world; without the Christian Right of the GOP (ref history of how they were brought into the GOP in the late 1970s) climate change would have been addressed decades ago....... etc etc. The world would be a very different place if the Christian Right were't so easily manipulated by politicians, sociopaths, corporate billionaires.

    It would be so illuminating if you would consider the works of Israel Anderson who makes a very interesting and compelling argument for Yahweh=Satan. His video 2 gardens and a snake is fascinating. Maybe reach out and invite him on to your channel to discuss his revelations. He very much aligns with a lot of what you both say here

    What one does methodologically on this one is go on to understand why is it that certain ecumenical synods accepted the Bible only in this current form. In other words, they search the archives for this *second hand info.*

    Just a small, tiny example. The question is: do you accept *thought insertion* as a reality, and if you do, you'll see this a tree worth barking at loudly.

    See The Gnostic Gospels, by Elaine Pagels. From the Introduction … … Orthodox Jews and Christians insist that a chasm separates humanity from its creator: God is wholly other. But some of the gnostics who wrote these gospels contradict this: self-knowledge is knowledge of God; the self and the divine are identical. Second, the "living Jesus" of these texts speaks of illusion and enlightenment, not of sin and repentance, like the Jesus of the New Testament. Instead of coming to save us from sin, he comes as a guide who opens access to spiritual understanding. But when the disciple attains enlightenment, Jesus no longer serves as his spiritual master: the two have become equal-even identical. Third, orthodox Christians believe that Jesus is Lord and Son of God in a unique way: he remains forever distinct from the rest of humanity whom he came to save. Yet the gnostic Gospel of Thomas relates that as soon as Thomas recognizes him, Jesus says to Thomas that they have both received their being from the same source: Jesus said, "I am not your master. Because you have drunk, you have become drunk from the bubbling stream which I have measured out. ... He who will drink from my mouth will become as I am: I myself shall become he, and the things that are hidden will be revealed to him."

    I bumped into this video and found many of my apprehensions regarding the Greek Bible have been answered. I fully agree that Greek Gospels can not describe the Aramaic Jesus properly. As a Muslim, I found an amazing similarity in Aramaic Ruha and Arabic Ruh in the Quran. Verse 17:85 And they ask you concerning the Ruh (the spirit). Say:"The Ruh (the spirit) is from the command of my Lord. And you (mankind) have been given the knowledge except a little Verse 2:87 We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Pure Spirit.

    You can't heal the homosexual, it's not a disease. Religious bigotry like any bigotry however is. How about just accepting the fact that you're gay? I can't even listen to this garbage anymore and I'm not even 6 minutes in.

      What makes it garbage? In his book he actually finds freedom in surrendering to the fact that he is homosexual and living openly and authentically as a gay person.

      I find it disappointing that you found my episode to be “garbage” as it’s literally my journey through the rhetoric of gay conversion therapy to self acceptance. Spoiler Alert: I’m a happily open and proud gay man and my book is my story of my path to getting there. Thank you for your feedback though! Its appreciated.
