Hi! I LOVE your videos on both channels! For art you may really like Soul sparklettes Glitter bombs art curriculum! It is like mini units on art that tie in other concepts and has over 200 projects and some come with videos and there is a FB community to share or ask questions! I bought a year membership and will be diving in this summer and may do some stuff before then! I know you like your current art curriculum but after hearing about that I am going to do it and the book your using! Your doing a great job Momma! Those girls are doing the real kind of learning that sticks with you for life and it is going to help make them readers and to be lifelong learners!
I had to giggle a little when you mentioned knowing the election results by the time this posted. Who’d a thunk we’d still be waiting? And the Tik Tok thing is brilliant! My kids love making videos so I’m definitely going to use that idea.
Haha seriously who would have thought that by the time that video came out we were still waiting?! Thankfully the results came through later that day. So glad you liked the TikTok idea! Yes I think any video-loving kid would enjoy a project like that!
Hey that's a great idea for a video - thank you! We're not doing any grading, because from my perspective, grades are more about helping schools communicate to the parents how their kids are doing. But I have a front-row seat everyday to how my girls are doing, so it doesn't seem necessary. :) BUT I'm sure there are some families who do grade, and it would be interesting to do a video where I include their views.
Hey great question! I could probably do a whole video on this so I'll add it to my list lol. I'd say there are probably two main ways we do this. First, is for workbook type curriculum, Sean will always be many pages ahead of Ella in the book. So if in one lesson Ella does one page of math problems, Sean will probably do 4. Second is, I judge their work by different standards. So for unit studies, I always have them do a final project to show what they learned. Though they may create things using the same format (for September it was a poster, for October it was a TikTok video), I will expect to see a greater level of detail and more clarify of ideas from Sean than from Ella. Hope that helps!

I just ordered Writeshop Junior for my daughter, we're really excited about it! We were/are using Wordsmith Apprentice, but I found it wasn't enough
Oh very cool! I actually haven't heard of either of those. Are they like, spelling/grammar/punctuation type curricula?
Do you do grading, or record marks? I would love to see a video on that - why or why not to grade! Pros/cons etc

How do you increase the difficulty for your oldest daughter? Are they always working on the same thing?
