Morning everyone, here's a video from my trip to the Midland Railway Centre in Butterley near Derby yesterday.
Here's the Midland Railway Centre's flagship steam engine, the LMS Class 3F Jinty No.16440 departing with the next Santa Special train from Butterley.
If you're wondering why the Jinty was coupled to the back of the train, it's because the diesel shunter, I thought it was very unfair to see a beautiful steam engine like the Jinty to be coupled at the back, while the diesel shunter was couple in front, then I realise something, if the Jinty was coupled at the front, people wouldn't be able to see it, also there was no water tower at the station, so they use water hoses instead, but there was only one hose at one end of the platform & it wouldn't be long enough to reach the other end of the station to the steam engine, so that's why the Jinty was coupled to the back of the train, but still, the passengers & enthusiasts can see the Jinty steam engine up close.
Excuse the man in front of the Jinty, he's a volunteer, talking to another & signalling to the guard to the crew of the Jinty, telling them that they're ready to depart.
