Haven Silver Caravan; Is The Upgrade Worth It?
Haven Holidays Silver Caravan. Should you upgrade to a Silver Caravan? A silver caravan has better furniture and fittings than a bronze caravan or a saver caravan plus Silver caravans have a decked veranda and patio furniture but is the extra cost worth it? Is a Haven Holidays Silver caravan the best value for money? Haven Silver caravans are at least 12 feet wide and guarantee central heating, a 42" TV and decking with patio furniture but should you book a Haven Saver or a Haven Bronze caravan instead? To find out, we booked a Haven Hideaway Break in a 2 bedroom Silver caravan at Haven Holidays Burnham-on-Sea Holiday Park in Somerset.

So relaxing 😌
@@lawrencer8673 it's a lovely place
Forget "I think I can, I think I can." Victor just goes "Been there, done that b*tch."
Has anybody been to the all hallows site along the Kent coast? If so what are your thoughts?
I stayed in one of these with my little girl in Exmouth, it was a lovely comfortable little break. She keeps asking when we're going again. 😊
Thanks for commenting.I hope you get the chance to go again soon 🙂
That isn't St Ives to the right! It's Godrevy lighthouse and Gwithian. St Ives is round to the left
@coasttocoastcaravanning6138 If you look straight out to sea, you are correct, St Ives would be to the left and Godrevy to the right. If you look across the estuary towards Carbis Bay from the Bluff Inn as shown in the video, St Ives is on the right hand end of the headland 🙂
Loverly for a savers caravan
@@stephaniemurphy3443 All of the Saver caravans we have stayed in recently have been nice
Looks better and cheaper than camping

Looks great, got a good size TV, and a dishwasher, looks great
@johnwhite2293 it was great. Having a dishwasher in a Saver caravan is unusual though.
Too many of those horrible things called humans.
Too many of those horrible things called humans.
We love Cornwall. Weve stayed in one of these Haven sites.Very clean and tidy, small but got us all in. In 2019, we stayed at Perran Sands, and can walk down the hill to Perranporth beach.Beautiful.
You said you would be going back, will you then do another review and compare the visits?
@@johnbolton8606 I'm intending to produce a video comparing the 3 saver caravans we have stayed in during the last 12 months (inc. 2 at Riviere Sands).
big ted tell you what m8,,,,,im hooked on your channel look forward to more vids thanks ....Edwin
@edwinthompson6510 Thanks Edwin, there will be more videos soon 🙂
Haven cheaper caravans are just fine and provide good and affordable holiday accommodation.
@@geordieceltic2 We've stayed in several saver caravans, and they've all been good 👍
I deliver food there from Penzance (11 miles away) still waiting for my first tip😅 but hey ho if I was to be living of tips per week I wouldn’t be able to buy a child’s portion of fish’n’chips 😂😂😂
😂
Absolutely nothing wrong with the caravan. Somthing to think about
We have stayed in several Haven caravans recently, and they have all been very nice
We had a caravan at Park Dean holiday park Carmarthen Bay site in June. When we got to our designated caravan there was a really awful smell outside the van. Guess what ……. It was only right next to a sewage works. The stench had permeated all through the Caravan, we went to reception to complain and were told “ well nobody else has complained!!!! and there were no alternative vans available. Half hour later they had found one, we went to look at it and quickly realised it was a sh..t pit. Awful to say the least which was a shame because I must admit most of the park is quite good.
Putting a holiday caravan next to a sewage works is ridiculous. We were looking at Pembrokeshire for our next trip, but we won't be going to Carmarthen Bay now!
@@BigTedsTravel It’s a nice site but if you do go there make sure before hand you don’t get placed next to the sewage works! Honestly it was awful 😢
I go to havens every year. We've never had any complaints. We love it.
I stayed at Haven at burnham on sea with my friend we should have stayed in 1 bedroom saver but they up graded us to a 3 bedroomed instead.if you use the back gate the beach is just across the road.also you can catch a bus into weston supermare.we went in may most places were closed also it gets cold at night heating on all night.
@@jackiesmith145 We were at Burnham in April: th-cam.com/video/rHcuz-u6Vd8/w-d-xo.html. I hope you had as good a time as we did 🙂
Our daughter works at the Haven Park in Hafan and I can assure you that the staff work tirelessly to ensure all holidaymakers have the best experience. Your comment about the sticker on the door, isn't 'crime scene' it's to signify that the caravan has been cleaned and ready for occupancy. Our daughter will often help (even though she has a managerial role), along with other office/managerial staff, going into caravans to clean and prep them for incoming guests when there's a shortage of cleaning staff.
@helendashwood2081 Thanks for commenting Helen. I've seen how quickly the cleaning staff have to work at Haven sites, and in all my videos on Haven caravans, comment on how clean the caravans are. If you look at some of the comments below, you will see that I am very supportive of the work the cleaning teams do.
Big Teds Travel,,,,,, yes we have a chalet on the Towens overlooking Carbis Bay ,,from St Ives to Godrevy The Bucket of Blood to popular can never get a seat and im for ever bumping my head on those low beams "gaffa sits on high bar stool edge of bar" great meals there " we book a table ,best to when kids are on school holidays Bluff is convenient shot walk 2mins,,, door to door,,,,Ed
@edwinthompson6510 I'm quite tall, so know exactly what you mean about the low beams in the Bucket of Blood 🤕
We stayed in one of these for the first time in Skegness, and it was brilliant. It cost us £109 for four nights, and other than the double bed being a bit sponge, I can't fault it. It was clean and tidy, with all the things you need to have a great self-catering holiday. We have two dogs, and there are not a lot of places where you can go that accept pets, but some Haven sites do, and it was in with the cost of the caravan. Would I book again, 100% yes, in fact we have, it'll be our go to destination while we still have our dogs.
I believe that there are only 2 Haven sites that don't accept dogs; Riviere Sands and Burnham-on-Sea
I would stop in that, looks great , I have stayed in a lot worse .
It was very nice. We have stayed in several Haven caravans since, and they have all been good 👍
They seem to have upped their game considerably since I had one in Challaborough Devon back in the 90's.
We went with the kids 20 years ago, but the caravans seem much nicer now
Found these a couple of years ago, when not been in a caravan for a long while. Had 4 nights for under a 100 and 7 nights for less than 150. Really can't fault , excellent value.
@@KarlCator They are great value if you can avoid the school holidays 👍
Looks great!
@@posypoodle6034 It was 😀
Riviere Sands in Cornwall is our go to holiday every year (apart from this year, at seashore Great Yarmouth this year, but allready booked Riviere sands for next year)… when my daughter was younger we booked the sea view caravans out of season, but she’s school age now so instead we just book bronze during the school holidays. Where did you go to when you was in Cornwall?
We liked Riviere Sands that much that we went back again this summer. This year we went to Falmouth, Carbis Bay, St. Ives, and we went to see a play at the Minack Theatre. We also managed to fit in a couple of beach days 😃
Nothing grim about that
We've stayed in several others since and they've all been nice 🙂
Same size as an average British house but it doesn't look like you can wash your face in those sinks.
The sink in the en-suite was small, but the one in the shower room was fine.
Love a Haven!
We always use Saver at Haven , both st ives, Perrenporth and Devon cliffs. Hot water and a bed, that’s all I need. We’re out all the time and I simply don’t understand why people would pay £1000 for 4 nights in one of these bigger caravans over looking the sea.
It's nice to have a veranda if you can get a silver or gold caravan at a good price, but with the weather in the UK, you would be daft to pay hundreds of pounds extra for one
I was expecting grim and then was like 'wow, that's pretty nice actually'!
I wasn't sure what to expect, but the caravan was great, and the location was even better 😃
I want this holiday just my self and little son o yes
@@sarahmore4146 You can get some really good deals if you can go outside of the school holidays
Nothing wrong with that...looks great
@@ssd7922 It was great 😁
Stayed at several Haven sites around the UK. As someone has already said, It is just a place to eat and sleep unless you have kids and use the site facilities. Unfortunately a lot does depend on the site you choose. Some have caravans packed together and you can hear everything going on in your neighbours van. Other sites the parking is an issue especially when some holidaymakers turn up with two or more cars. At other sites l have used, there is a lack of staff. Generally the vans are clean, but l have experienced issues and now always take some floor wipes for the kitchen and bathroom areas. The remote tv controls are usual broken. Haven also money grab as you can't select the location of your van until you have paid for the holiday. They then send you an email saying choose your location but you will have to pay more. All these issues l have reported back to Haven over the last few years to no avail. So choose carefully which site you stay at and read reviews.
@@rolymier8659 Which sites would you recommend?
@BigTedsTravel Personal choice is Littlesea near Weymouth, Burnham on Sea and Flamborough. Would never go back to Perran Sands.
@rolymier8659 Thanks for the tips. We've been to Burnham but haven't tried the others. We liked Berwick and Riviere Sands but weren't that keen on Primrose Valley (vans packed in really close together in some areas).
We stayed in a saver caravan in St leonards near hastings a couple of months ago and going again in October. They're great for the money ❤❤
@@RobinMartin-nj2cx We haven't tried St Leonards yet. Would you recommend it?
@BigTedsTravel Yes we highly recommend this site. It's on 3 levels and a bit hilly, but if like me you've got a mobility problem, speak to them when booking and they'll try to locate you near the amenities. The site is clean and the staff are brilliant, that'swhy we're going back for our 3rd stay this year. Have you tried The Orchards in Clacton? This is another lovely site belonging to Haven.
@RobinMartin-nj2cx We haven't tried St Leonards or the Orchards yet but will certainly consider them in future. Thanks for the tips 🙂
Had alot of hols with Haven when kids were younger. Look at where you are too, Cornwall ...wonderful ❤❤❤
There is so much to see and do in Cornwall 🙂
I watched this with no intention of ever going but i still really enjoyed it❤
@@TimelordUK Thanks for the great feedback 👍
@@BigTedsTravel I think it's because you are northern, like me!
We’ve had a saver caravan at Seashore and it was fine. The only problem I have with Haven is they charge so much for dogs.
@bezstarling8419 I wasn't aware that they did charge for dogs. They probably charge because of the extra cleaning needed in some cases. I'm sure kids make more mess though 🙂
Nothing wrong with that clean tidy why Grim
I agree, the caravan was very nice, but would you have watched the video if it was called 'How nice is a Haven Saver caravan'? My videos on Bronze and Silver caravans have much lower viewing figures than this video 🤷♂️
@@BigTedsTravel well my aunt when alive had a few holidays in caravans when the sun had cheap caravan holiday tokens in the sun news paper a few years ago never had a bad one had a great time
@DeanTalik That's nice, I'm glad your aunt enjoyed her caravan holidays.
I’ve stayed in worse.
I've stayed in much worse 😕
Quite nice and better than I expected too!
We've stayed in a few Haven caravans since, and they have all been nice. This was the only one with a dishwasher though!
we have a chalet opposite haven, get our fish n chips from haven it is a well presented holiday park the bluff pub has concessions for haven guests meals drinks etc
@edwinthompson6510 I believe the Bluff Inn is owned by Haven. It's got fabulous views from the beer garden but the drinks are expensive. We prefer to go to the Bucket of Blood.
Looks like a great way to spend a few days, hope the beds were comfortable
The beds are fine, just a bit smaller than we are used to.
Stopped in one last year and we thought it was great for the money
You can get some great deals if you are flexible
Nice vid , Keep em coming and you will do well .👍
Thanks for the great feedback 👍
