The K5LLA will normally be in service with the 1L reversed. I had a viewer request the reverse 2 similar to most K5HL bells configurations.

K5LA's are from the charger locomotive's on amtrak surfliner and amtrak-california
Do what?
How you get horn you buy them or you work for Csx or something
Ebay
Mount the rs5t to your truck it’s (top) tier
which is the K5LA?
The blue one
How big is your air tank?
30 gallon gas and 20 gallon spare
Agreed
Blud turned his truck into a BNSF warbonnet
What drill head is used for these, and what type of bolt is used, sorry I’m fairly new to these rebuilding stuff
I’m not sure what you are referring to.
@ My bad, what drill bit did you use for the bolts on the power chamber and bell.
I didn’t and I wouldn’t recommend it. Unless you are talking about the dowel or orifice pins. Those holes can be up to 1/8”
Sounds More Like E G C
Nathan k5la: I am the best freight train horn!!! Leslie rs5t: What did you just say? Nathan K5la: ........ Nothing!
Nothing beats the real train that thing is loud as hell 😂
Liberty fire co. 4 used to have that type of horn.
"it- it's not an addiction, it- it's a hobby!"
That’s what I keep saying!
raised letter k5la
How did you get the k7? I know they were experimental, and EXTREMELY hard to find.
To my knowledge, none were produced. I made this manifold myself.
Do You Have A K5LLA?
I do!
Man I swear I’ve heard one or two of these in the wild
Very possible!
Godda*nit, i want that K5LA!
Wo bekommt man das? Komme aus Deutschland und will das für meinen Scania V8 😈😅
You can find them on hornblasters.com they are pricey though
I like it when it passes you and blows the horn it sounds so satisfying
The voice of Norfolk Southern!
How did you get real train horn ?
I purchased them! There are many ways to find them, just keep your eye out. Hornblasters always has some.
@@texasboystv oh my god. How much ?
Just depends on the horn
What psi do you use for your Hadley horns?
100 is what I’d recommend. I run 150 but it’s being restricted by a hefty run of 1/4” airlines due to the mounting locations
@@texasboystv thanks
If I may. They also have an electric ball valve. You just wire a two-way momentary switch for open and close. You just got to wire the switch for reverse polarity
Link to said valve?
@@texasboystv in case TH-cam is still being funny about external links just type in electric ball valve. Amazon has a bunch of them. Just as a little electric actuator that opens and closes the ball valve. Actually I use it for controlling the heater temperature in my truck on the heater line. But considering you can feather it for that I don't see why it wouldn't work for an air horn. And then I've just got it set up to a two-way momentary switch so I can stop it where I want it
Thanks. I’ll look into it
@@texasboystv if you do it make sure you post it so I can see how it works because I'm considering using one
That sounds so cool. Please make a video where you do this like 80 times in a row with different horns.
One amazing hybrid if I do say so myself
You should put a steam whistle on it 😂
I’ve got one. Stick around. It may come out here soon
A Amtrak F40 had a S5T
That’s cool!
That thing sounds really nice, If you have a 3 chime manifold you should make a K1L13, bells 1L, 1 and 3
@@notch8c40 I’ve got a video of one of those on the channel!
@@texasboystv Ah I didn't know
Just honk that horn.
Alternator has left the chat 😂
@@TacticalTech-nl8rt do what?
When you have train horn in a vehicle you part of the problem
I appreciate you! Thanks for interacting with my content!
No its actually a hobby look it up you'll come across endless videos of train horns on trucks and coming from someone who loves real loud sounds I'm into it lol it's not a problem at all only people who don't know how to have fun do not like it. Now honking at a crossing is not a hobby lol
@@josh1991k5la so you think people being started half to death by your horn and not liking that is just "them not knowing how to have fun?" maybe it is fun for you but it is fucking disrespectful as fuck to do that. you are amused by scaring the shit out of people and do not see how that is disrespectful or any issue?....
Do you see Any people in these videos? I make sure to go as far away from people as possible to enjoy the sounds of the railroad.
Nice old cast P4 😉
Thank you sir!
I had been going through ty he same issues on my 1958 aluminum tabby modified by N&W to full orfices. I also ran every combo possible of back caps. Chambers, and bells. I cant tell you how many times i broke out those 1/2 " wrenches lol. There was aluminum oxidation powder gluing the diaphragms and difuser plates. The ones with the least resistance randomly stole the air from the more stubborn ones. Sometimes the 55 got it. Or the 31 or the 44, etc. Finally cleared up and has performed consistently for the last three weeks
I’ve been fighting this one for a while. All heads have been cleaned and machined. Hopefully this is the fix
Hey man, idk if you would be interested, but I have an NCP3 that I wanna test out. It you guys are near Amarillo, I'd love to get it tested. If you're interested, you can hmu, and I can drag it down. Thanks!
Sure thing. Hit me on Facebook. facebook.com/share/jZuGB6E4HarH5coH/?mibextid=LQQJ4d
Good job !!! Very helpful !!
The doppler sounds very good.
I agree!
2000's NF K5LA?
Yes!
UP does this with all the K5LLA's they put on their SD70ACe's. Nice video!

“He’s behind me isn’t he”ahh moment
You're k5hl almost sounds like union pacific es44ac and bnsf es44ac
This horn is like NS 8105!!! UP 5287 has this horn instead of the K5HLA. The list is down below: 1. UP 5287 - K5LLA 2. BNSF 4278 - K5HLA 3. NS 8105 - K5HLA 4. CN 2888 - K5HLA 5. CN 3886 - K5HLA
Real charm to that chord! Pretty snazzy!
I just put a k5lla on my truck and I love it. I’ve noticed with my k3 and k5. When it’s a nice warm day and dry they are so loud. And when it’s rainy not as loud why is this just the sound doesn’t travel as well or what ? Figures you might know the answer. Keep up the kick ass videos.
Depends on what kind of vehicle you have. I notice on a hot day they don’t seem as loud and on a cold day I better be careful because the sound will travel for miles in the dense air. Could be that you fill your tank at 100’ and honk at 70’. You will have some pressure loss from temp change. I normally see 10-20 psi gain from morning to afternoon on 20 gallons. Also what direction you have them mounted and ac will muffle sound. Lots of factors at play
@@texasboystv I have mine where spare tire was facing toward front of truck running at 200psi
200 is too much. This video is at 120. Maybe your problem is the diaphragms are getting stuck open. 200 will eventually break the diaphragms. That’s way to high. Go to harbor freight and put a in line pressure regulator on it and I bet you’ll be happy with the result
Also probably catching a bunch of junk when you drive. Best practices to face it towards the ground or to the rear of the truck. I know that’s not what you want but if you want your horn to survive, that’s what I would recommend.
Sounds cool!
2:35
The safety is squeaking. Its probably not getting enough air or is leaking by the diaphragm.
this video is a couple years old, it was likely the microphone. horn is fine.
Is this louder than the K5la? I just ordered a K5lla I love how deep the sound is
they are all loud, if you set them up correctly you will be happy.
@@texasboystvI have a 8 gallon tank with 2 air zenith compressors and 1/2 inside diameter line
