I wish when asked what Firestarter was about, for Keith to reply "my obsession with fire"
"Free Will" off of this was actually taken from the 9 Dec 1991 Barrowland Glasgow show, there's actually two different recordings of this Wembley show, and my sources for both don't include tis as the final track. So looks like Scotland got a different final track.
stephen really never ages😭
Johnny looks like he's at the hairdressers lol
Got this salvation album on vinyl, wonder if its worth anything?🤷♀️
Dont agree what he did to hooky pushing him out like that, he was there from the witchdoctors of zimbabwe days!
Hooky left of his own accord after being a complete douche to everyone and didn't even consult them
Hes so sexy 🥵🥵
hooky's got a blackeye
ずっと聞いています!
Ian was an Cancer star sign, which are very emotional people/moody
When you read the lyrics and hear the music,it was surreal poetry He was probably on medication which will give you fits after drinking alcohol.
He looks very tired here
Thanks for the great podcast my neighbor from Down Under!!
1989, a turning point for the band.
Cheers for the upload, one of my favourite albums by NO.
Cuties
Gotta say that interviewer really knew his stuff and actually asked some deep questions about their music and how ian influenced it. Kudos to him
I was thinking the same - excellent interview.
I understand why Peter hook had a problem With this Ego…
I was there…👌❤️
Bloody hell lucky kids!!!!
2 top blokes, down to earth, Northern humour, good hearted, & the music of course!
Joy Division were such a great band. No needless over production, just great music
Tunnneeee
Love you Barney
How many gigs have they done? Must be in the thousands by now! Only seen one so far was loads of fun. Delightful interview
I really liked the LP Raise the Pressure from 1996, now I hope it is released on vinyl
They do dampen your brain terribly even though it is necessary in cases of severe depression. Barney is such a talented man specially considering none of joy division were musically trained.
The fact that they make them talk about Ian who died in 1980 is just weird. The four remaining probably have issues that are more important to discuss.
I'm sure they don't mind if they think it helps /gets attention for the cause, & surely weirder if it wasn't mentioned; elephant in room
Please share google drive link. Thanks
interesting that this was before the album was complete
Awesome sauce
Just sitting with random people heading into town, its funny. I wish i could remember those days instead of coming of age into autotuned sewage 😢
A bit in love with young Barney 💕
He was a doll! Such a cutie 🥰!
@@ErinAbou and was hot in his 40s and 50s tbh too 😊
12:20 Reality
They're all by Markus Schulz & C.L.McSpadden, in 1997 they did all the US remixes of Madonna's Love Dont Live Here Anymore too, with similar names (Edge Factor Dub etc) and sounds. Quite brilliant.
Estupendo
I wonder if anyone knew that they were witnessing musical history in the making
If you ever meet Hooky, ask him "just how tight is Barney?" Make sure you've got some free time though, because that could be a conversation that lasted hours, just with his multitude of examples. Hooky? He'd give you his last fiver and not care. Sumner? If you were literally dying of thirst, he'd make you sign an IOU before buying you a drink.
Hooky needs to learn the phrase "people in glass houses" he fucked the band over multiple times, forged Ian's signature, gave his pregnant wife an STI then ran off with a roadie.. Barney is simply a product of his upbringing and had an upsetting childhood so was conditioned by that.
Bizarre Love Triangle is his best song imo
I love how they are 3 very different frontmen with totally different personalities and styles. Interesting interview. Back when you could actually criticise other artists/bands and give awkward answers. Nowadays it’s all quick fire, self indulgent media trained bullshit.
Bernard is a very underrated songwriter. True Faith, Bizarre Love Triangle and 1963 are some of the greatest songs of the 80s.
Barney is looking healthier as he gets older. Steve looks the same as 20 years ago
God - I remember how noisy those early Metrolink trams were on the Cornbrook-Deansgate section.
Amazing to hear how the song was slowly evolving into the final version.
yo man do u still have the google drive / original multitracks? can't find them anywhere else online
hes so polite and soft spoken its so sweet ;cc
his answer to question 2 is weirdly relatable
Hey you, what is the matter? Tell me the truth, I won't laugh at you Were his words cruel? Were they unkind? That guy's a fool, he's crossed the line I'll stay with you, 'til hell freezes over We're at to each other, like sister and brother You're one of a kind, high on my agenda Oh, I'll change your mind, when will you surrender? Remember that day your world fell apart? It cut like a blade, right through your heart And where were your friends, just when you needed them? They were not there Why did you believe in them? Well, I'll stay with you, 'til hell freezes over We're at to each other, like sister and brother You're one of a kind, high on my agenda Oh, I'll change your mind, when will you surrender? I'll stay with you, 'til hell freezes over We're at to each other, like sister and brother You're one of a kind, high on my agenda Oh, I'll change your mind, shen will you surrender? When will you surrender?
Epic! I was lucky enough to see them in London...great memories!
After BLT, I could listen no longer … time to move on but it was a good run …
thanks for the upload. This is a new one for me ❤
