Merry Christmas.
Hello stranger. Merry Christmas.
Hi. Merry Christmas.
So more of the steel frame for the floor and how the C channels attach to the ICF. Is your concrete poured ??
James, do you have any other social media that I can send you direct message and get in touch? I’m also in Nashville TN building later this year and would like to ask you few questions on steel joist. Already posted one comment on your other older video. Thanks Sir
James, thanks I found first residential home that is built ICF and steel joist with OSB subfloor. I’m building my home this year and I wonder do you have any issue with steel joist comparing to wood joist in terms of squeaking, deflection, loud noise because OSB sits over steel joist…hope you can share it will help me. I’ll continue to watch your other videos since I discovered this today. Thanks for sharing! I’m in Nashville, Tennessee
I love it!!!
Good to see you posting again been friggin ages, but worth the wait, thanks James for the update
Thanks Taz
Ur Tennessee TWANG is started to come back, lol
lol
About damn time, lol
Nice job. I know it's too late now but I think this might have been easier if you used a spreader beam and a single winch.
That is a good idea.
Funny thing is those cut resistant gloves appear like they came from "stores" at your previous factory job????🤔😂
They also sold them at meijers.
Fantastic work! I’m inspired
Awesome! Thank you!
Oh did I tell you that I picked the color for my room? It's called cashmere white,
I get to park in the right side, yep that's my spot, thanks Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy
Great Job James
Thank you
awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it
seems awfully cheap for a structure that size compared to what we'd have to pay in the UK, seems we're being robbed lol did they lay the concrete floor to the garage to so all you had to do is prepare the foundations for it? what about electrics & wiring do they install those or just the structure and that's a huge garage too, you could keep your bentley there & have plenty of space for a truck & a workshop on the other side glad to see things moving fwd for you
Thanks Taz. I already had the concrete floor installed before. They did just the structure. I will do the electrical.
Me after 1st day in New garage: speakers on inside and outside, a subwoofer in corner and a flat screen on a wall
LOL
isnt that what you do 24/7 anyway, just laze around watching the sun rise & set in the distance. then go back to playing some games
Good to see that you got some of your stuff back and have a suspect that is currently locked up. The guy that robbed me 2 months ago is still in jail and the deputy said he admitted stealing all the stuff. But it looks like he will get out soon with a 5 year suspended sentence.
Thanks.
Screws are heavy, and mostly steel, a 1 gallon bucket full of them can scrap for about $5
Makes sense
Brillo pads are used when they smoke Crack
Didn't know that
Good to see you got some closure, can't believe they even took packs of screws & nails too. and that caulk that confirmed they were the ones. Hopefully you can now move on with this
Thanks Taz. Yeah, I def want to move on with the build. I will have an update video on the siding out tomorrow.
That caulk was to try and glue ur fingers 2gthr so u couldn't yap away in youtube comments
Ugh.. Sorry to hear James! I have a Reolink camera and love it!!
Thanks for letting me know
I feel for you. I have live in the same place for over 25 years without any issues. Just last weekend I caught someone breaking into my van. At first I thought that all he took was money from the center console and a radiator cap. I chased the car down on foot, broke his mirror, and got the tag number. Then called the sherif and gave them a description of the car. Before I could get a number to text him a picture, he said he would call me back, and I heard sirens. 5 minutes later I got a call saying they had him and I needed to come identify my belongings. When i arrived, I was shocked to see all the camping supplies he had stolen from my camper that was sitting right next to the house. It was less than 20 seconds from the time I heard him drive up until I chased him. After talking to my neighbors, they said that they had seen the car down the road 3 hours before he drove up to my house. It has been such an unsettling week since then. Every time I hear a car go by I pull up the camera or run outside to make sure no one else is here. Or find a gate open that I know I closed. It’s just knowing that he was in my camper long enough to drink 3 cans of soda and eat a package of animal crackers, that had been in the camper since last summer, then going through and picking items that were worth some money and some that were worth nothing. He is probably already out with just a slap on the wrist, while we have to worry about the risk of him coming back for a very long time.
Yes it is very frustrating. Good to hear you got your stuff back so quickly.
Get a trail camera, hidden in the brush, that will capture a license plate. Police can do something with that.
That is a great idea. Thanks
Sad to hear your 1st vid in months was of a theft. Hope you manage to get your items back. How much $ did they take. Hopefully not too much. But the issue is probably the inconvenience of it all Was loving your regular property updates hopefully you'll be updating more regularly from now on Good luck James and glad to see you're ok
Thanks Taz. It was roughly $1,000 worth of tools and materials. Not devastating, but very annoying.
U can consider get those motion activated cameras that have a removable sd card, way cheaper! My neighbor uses his to track deer
Great idea
Do you have any building experience? Is this something anyone that's handy can do?
I have general construction experience. Anyone can do this if they take the time to learn about the building process of icf and plan thoroughly.
Sucks that the marine grade plywood didn’t hold up. Were you able to get it refunded because of warranty?
I don't think it had a warranty. There was nothing stamped on the wood. I can still use it for a small shed I think.
@@jamesdiyhomestead8263 Bummer for the wallet but I’m sure you will be happier with it in the long run.
Don't forget when you put the doors in, to give me a key
I'll think about it :)
Good to see you uploading again. And that sub floor looks solid
Thanks Taz. It looks great and feels strong.
Chances are, wood flooring on metal studs, u will probably never have any squeaks, lol.
True
Around 3 min in, your mic only comes out of the left channel of my headphones.
Think I need to replace my mic on the camera. Sound only on the right side.

❤️❤️❤️
Glad your back, everything looks great. I am looking at building hopefully next year and plan on doing the same so please keep posting and sharing your wisdom. Happy to hear about the new job...
