Weird Showbiz History

A British guy with a nerdy and pathological knowledge, fascination and love of old American Comedy and Entertainment.
Breaking down the salacious stories, scandals and personalities of Showbusiness past.
This channel is for Entertainment and Educational purposes geared towards my love of the drama and characters - not hatred. Every entertainer and show have their place.
Older performers and personalities meant a lot to people at one point in history - and I want to make sure they aren’t forgotten and remembered for their impact whether it be monumental or minimal.

5 husbands and took them all for big money
A real Easter Egg happens in "Identity Crisis" when Patrick McGoohan's character says "Be seeing you" to Columbo as he is leaving. This line is a call back to McGoohan's most famous series, The Prisoner.
MIND BLOWN!
Both of them funny people On TV gone never forgotten
Amen
Yes I remember when they did this!
oh amazing! Celebrity Bowling I find wildly entertaining - I'm considering doing watchalongs for it! All those great performers bowling. It's a heartwarmingly disorganised show.
I was born in 1976 so obviously my generation of the 80's probably grew up seeing Milton Berle pop up here and there on sitcoms and movies, never cared for seeing his older material.
Yeah my friend only knows him from the Kenan and Ken movie!
When celebrities would be able to do anything fun on TV
You’re so right!
I know right! No drama or fighting - just celebs having fun together
great stuff! another brilliant! video!
My parents listened to Newhart vinyl LPs back in the 60s. I’ve been a fan ever since.
Thankyou America for producing and entertaining the world with gentlemen like Bob Newhart and the rest, the world would be a much dimmer and unhappier blue marble without the United States,
:)
Didn't him and RuPaul clash at the MTV Video Music Awards in either 1994 or 1995?
Yep it was 1993 actually according to legend things didn't go as rehearsed and RuPaul decided to adlib a few lines that caught Milton off guard.
We all know exactly how she feels at least if we're women
He used to make us laugh so much rest in peace brother😂😂😂❤
10:14 the original plan was to have 5 stand-up comics hosting the show in rotation, performing their own material, announcing the musical acts but not participating in skits
If this is how I'm learning that he passed away, then i thank you for the laugh as well. Fair winds, sir.
Wow so much in the news that his death was overlooked. Miss you Bob.
RIP Mr Newhart. Played ‘Hi-Bob’ hundreds of times in the early 80s but remember very few.
I luv the old roasts. ❤😂
amazing love these two!
😂😂😂😂😂😂what a pair . Good stuff 😊
The" Thief of Bad Gags"! That's hilarious!
A classic comedy with some of the best actors of the time.
Hallis
"Seven or eight quick ones..." 😅
Larry Hagman's battle with the network during his time on Dallas right after the famous 'Who shot JR" cliffhanger would make a great episode. The sheer cajones it took to take on a network and fans at same time, stretching out the storyline is the stuff of legend.
The ending to Newhart was one of the best of ay series. RIP Mr.Newhart.
R.I.P. Bob Newhart, your comedy was always the gold standard! Your legacy will never end!
Bob Newhart was very much a reactor comedian. By that I mean he reacted to what others did. With his telephone call routines through his genius he managed to do this without the standard straight man. The two skits of his that I remember and still laugh at when I think of them is The Gettysburg Address conversation with Abe Lincoln as he is preparing for the speech and the King Kong skit where it is the first night on the job for the night watchman at the Empire State Building. He will be missed
I'm sure that there will never be another man that made his audience feel that we are all made the same. He gave us a sense of fun and laughter. Thank you!
Possibly my all time favorite. Watching him was like hanging out with a favorite uncle. I'll miss him. RIP Bob you made this world just a bit lighter.
Two of the best. One dude invented the recorded comedy album, and one dude invented insanity or at least reinvented it
Conan wrote Marge Vs. The Monorail. His genius knows no bounds.
Not one mention of his schlong?
Such a nice, sincere, and touching tribute. Thank you.
It’s a pleasure. He was a wonderful man!
Always liked her. She is hillarious
Rest in pepperoni Bob
She says WHAT ARE YOU WEARING 😂😂😂
And he got to live on 28 more years as well and got to be part of one of the best movies of the late 80s "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."
She was fantastic in 'What's Up Doc'. Really funny lady🎉❤
SNL has become stale and it’s been around too long. Very similar to the complaint about Berle being around too long. Funny how things can turn out.😂
😂😂😂
love this!
Have been watching the early sixties show Joey Bishop show, and iam amazed how this show survived. Plot, 40 yr old man still living with his mother and siblings.Plot lines thin and corny. The one good thing a very young and pretty Marlo Thomas, u could see she Had a future. Also most episodes black and white and than in color. Intresting.
I read in Rick A Lertzmanns book about Joey that he really was pretty disrespectful to most of the cast - including Marlo who's dad wasn't best pleased. Seems pretty short sighted to get on the wrong side of an influential comedy legend Danny Thomas.
Loved Madeline Kahn 😅
yes she was brilliant in everything she did!
