I'd say do what you can for trade evolutions.

There's a thing some randomizers allow you to do which is "removing impossible evolutions". Basically, it makes any evolution that is basically impossible on an emulator - like trades - or ones that are generally annoying, i.e. Milotic, Hydreigon, etc. - easier to achieve. Usually, it'll replace the trade requirement with some kind of evolution item requirement, or if there was already an item required, it just makes that item act like a stone instead (i.e. metal coat for Scizor), or if the evolution is at a stupidly high level, like some of Unova's dex, it'll bring it down to around 40. Personally, I don't see an issue with doing this, especially if you attempt a randomizer. Opposing trainers use illegal pokemon all the time, with Ghetsis from BW1 arguably being the biggest offender.

I'd say, feel free to make "impossible evolutions" possible, as other nuzlockers do so.

Trade evolutions shouldn't be a thing, but then, version exclusive pokemon shouldn't either. They're all programmed in, so it's litterally only there to sell more copies. It should be illegal to FORCE people to reach out to other people in games that are single-player. The ability to play against other people is an activity outside of the playthrough. It is great that they include it, and a reason why many people play, but version exclusives only mean that some people who don't have access to the internet don't get to play with all pokémon, and they can't catch all pokémon themselves. Ideally (but they'll never do since it means a significant segment of the playerbase has to buy both games and a second console to trade with themselves) future games would be one version only, and they add a device in a location in which you can "trade" your pokémon with yourself. Meaning the evolution can be placed a certain distance into the game where the estimate is that you've spent at least some time with the mid-stage of a pokémon you caught early enough, as well as evolve the pokémon that require a held item during a trade. That, or an item that evolves trade pokémon, and the items that had to be held during a trade can now be "used" as well, so they stil can be held by the pokémon for the benefits it's supposed to give as a held item, and trigger a pokémon's evolution on demand.

I’m so glad they changed how whirlwind, roar and other moves like it work in later gems because I do *NOT* want this to happen to me or any others ever again. It’s so disheartening to see or even hear about.

Trade evos have always been cringe. I say if you want to be able to get trade evos I say get them, in terms of ruling I’m pretty sure most of the time impossible evos just becomes level up with held items or just normal leveling up.

Really liked the scripting and editing! In terms of using trade evolutions, megas etc I have no problem using or not using them, make it as easy or difficult as you want. And leveling for the elite four you could also just level to the levelcap of the champion, but making it harder for the streamer and make the suffer is alwyas more fun.

I’ve done a nuzlock of the ruby version of this and I lost at Steven’s metagross not do to a miss play but do to my brain insisting that it was a rock type and not a steal psychic type
