Coating Above the Burner tip - What impact it to the combustion process?_ English Version
Coating at the burner tip can sometimes occur during Kiln operation, it can affect the shape of the flame and the combustion process in the Rotary Kiln.
On this occasion we will explain what causes the formation of a coating at the burner tip, and what effect it has on the combustion process in the Rotary Kiln.
The coating above the burner tip is formed due to material falling from the rotating Kiln, and the position of the burner enters the Kiln ring.
If the burner tip coating is not cleaned immediately, it will affect the shape of the burner flame and affect the combustion process in the Rotary Kiln.
The effect on the shape of the burner flame is that the fire tends to go up and touch the coating or refractory brick continuously.
This happens because of the turbulence of the axial airflow in front of the burner tip coating.
If this lasts longer or more than 24 hours, it can damage the coating in the Kiln which is exposed to direct fire. It can be seen on changes in Kiln Shell temperature through the Kiln Shell Scanner.
The effect on the combustion process, the quality of clinker tends to be dusty and freelime often gets out of control.

Kata orang batu kapur itu berasal dari dasar laut yg bercamput kerang2, rumput laut dll yg terangkat ke atas yg membentuk daratan bahkan membentuk gunung kapur. Alasanya begitu karena, kerang2an dan siput laut cangkangnya mengandung kapur. Menurut saya itu kurang tepat. Siput ataupun bekicot cangkangnya juga mengandung kapur, karena kalau di bakar akan mengeluarkan kapur. Menurut saya, gunung kapur terbentuk akibat letusan gunung yg memuntahkan bubur kapur yg terjadi di masa lampau . Kenapa gunung2 di dunia saat ini tidak ada yg memuntahkan bubur kapur?? Menurut saya, karena gunung yg memuntahkan bubur kapur itu asapnya sangat beracun, sehingga akan membunuh manusia dan mahkluk hidup yg lainya yg berada di sekitarnya. Kedua batuan kapur yg terbentuk untuk menjadi dingin sangat lama, berbeda dengan batu yg tidak membutuhkan waktu yg lama sudah bisa dingin, kemungkinan membutuhkan waktu bertahun2 tumpukan batuan kapur baru bisa dingin. Kalau di jaman sekarang, ada gunung yg memuntahkan bubur kapur, bisa di pastikan mahkluk hidup di sekitarnya akan musnah.
