just flew 600 mi to n c , picked up a 1999 sl2 5 sp saturn. perfect interior 124hp 4 cyl. cool ac, runs like a dream. paid 4k and worth every cent as the 2 other sl1 saturns i own run great. i like this style as well. One odd note.. that little radio set w cassette is desirable because the clock is reliable vs an aftermarket which is all digital bs. great cars!

My abs sensor came on and all I did was push it back on and it has not come back on.

I have the same car and year and I would not trade it for anything The problem at why the check engine light is on is because he needs a new catalytic converter.

Great find! Unfortunately, 5th gear failing is a known issue on these 3rd gen Accords, especially if the fluid gets low. There's an oiling mod to help prevent that from happening. You can easily replace 5th gear without removing the transmission, it's under the side cover in a separate compartment. The only problem with that method is the metal shavings that may still be in there. If you get a used transmission, I'd suggest inspecting 5th gear before you install it. GM. Before that new pussy ass logo. In 1989, GM was putting quality on the road. Buick was indeed the new symbol of quality in America. Put that in your Japanese pipe and smoke it. Toyota and Honda!

About 15 years ago I bought an '86 for $700 with 300k miles and much more rust. Loved it and was sad to sell it 😢. Treat her well, and she'll do just fine

My guess is they ran the transmission out of oil, but it could be simpler though, like a bad shift fork or something. Check the simple things first

This is a car that will always be very special to me. For Christmas 1988, my grandparents bought a brand new white 1989 Buick LeSabre Custom from Lloyd Buick/Cadillac/BMW in Daytona Beach, Florida, & I used to LIVE for their visits from Palm Coast just so I could ride in this beautiful car. It was nothing really fancy, but to me, it was up there with the best luxury sedans in the world, & it made me feel like a king just to be in it!!! To this day, I will NEVER forget sitting in those beautiful blue velour seats & feeling the cloud-like ride from the DynaRide suspension with one of my James Taylor cassettes wafting from the Concert Sound System. AHHHHHHHH........THE MEMORIES!!!!! I will go on record as saying that the C/H-bodies were probably the best cars that GM ever built. Not only they have the secret NAILED on how to produce that classic feeling of big-car ride, smoothness, comfort, & quiet, they were the best in terms of build quality/dependability/reliability, at least the later models were. They truly showed what could happen when an American car manufacturer took their heads out of their collective behinds & took the time building a car that could successfully go head-to-head with the imports, rather than just being obsessed with beating them at their own game. In fact, the LeSabre was named the Most Trouble-Free Car Built/Sold In America from 1989-up by J.D Power & Associates. Now, THAT is saying something!!!!!
