Skyline Drive Utah--can you offroad a stock 4x4?? 99 nissan frontier
มุมมอง 6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
I take a stock 1999 nissan frontier offroad to see if you can go offroad in stock form. Skyline drive trail in Utah . Plus I see a marmot, which I'd never seen before.

Cold start up noise, lq9 ls 6.0 swap
มุมมอง 2.1K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Can't figure out this noise. It's an 02 escalade lq9 ls 6.0, makes this noise on cold start typically goes away after the engine warms up. Let me know what you think it may be. Tuned for premium fuel, ran on premium fuel.
Jackery 290 overview, how long will it power a fridge?

It's possible to leave the switch and just put a shim there that will push the button in further. I wrapped a cable tie around the handle tube at the correct height and it works. It's also worth using a bolt to hold the handle to the machine rather than the plastic thing they give you. That way when you are mowing there is no flex near that button.
What about a portable ac, will it charge it?
Connecting the wires is not as simple as you made it. Why didn’t you show that part?.
I had already done the fix when I thought to make the video🤦♂️ it's not hard you just need a butt connector and wire crimpers
Can i plug my tv
Pushing 3 years in have had no issues. 😊
Pure Genius you are.
That's not a fault it is a safety feature intended to keep the driver awake and alert.
question..........can you charge from the car/truck cigarette outlet to the Jackey then to the travel cooler (all at the same time)???
hi that comes with the battery and charger when you buy one like this ? or you have to get separated.
I'm in Ohio and have been shopping for a first gen Frontier for a while now. Prices seem to be going up. I could do without the music.
I come to internet to look up my new self propelled Ryobi. I got it last summer & when I got it out to use for the first cut today. My blades are not spinning. And this thing was my daughters idea to get, it looked “cool” to her. But I wanted the GAS MOWER. I’m peeved about the purchase
Excellent review, i have them on Ram 🐏 2500 .1 of best tires
Great truck. They made these until 2004 at which point I believe it was the last pickup being made with a manual transmission AND manual transfer case. AKA the last completely electronic-free drivetrain. I wouldn't want it any other way.
🍀☘️🌟⭐👍
But does the cd and cassette work??
WI'll this power a infered hot plate.
For electric lawn mowers everything has pinch points that is not good for the wires.
I'm not sure if there is a safety switch when the grass bag or "plug" goes but my mower wouldn't start and after checking everything else, I noticed the plug was lose so I pushed it in and now it works. I think there is a switch there because if you run the machine without the grass bag or plug there, a rock can be shot back at you.
This is barely an offroad trial. A dinky fwd economy car can go through that.
Is it still going strong?
Yep
At the end, you’re on top of the bluff on the Collins trail, not the top of rattlesnake. The top of rattlesnake is much further up the trail near Eagle Hill that involves getting through tough obstacles, I.e. Wayne’s world, Eagles nest, sidewinder etc. To make it around the loop (at the top) you need much more clearance, articulation, a spotter, and willingness to take damage to your rig. However, I give you props for even doing some of Rattlesnake Trail in that nice of a truck. Sweet rig. Great video
Eagles nest and Wayne's world are obstacles on part of constrictor. You have to take rattlesnake to get to constrictor , but it's a separate trail.
@@theutahtexan6276 Yeah my mistake. Thank you for the correction. Being on the Collins trail, you are actually at the top of the Rattlesnake trail… I was out there today with my jeep and there was not a soul in sight. Got to the Wayne’s world obstacle and chickened out. I hear many people need a winch to make it up to Eagles nest? It looked steep… So the sidewinder trail is also a separate trail right? Where is that one at?
@sector783 yea during the week it's usually empty. On the weekend however it's usually packed. Sidewinder trail and Sidewinder exit trail are further to the northwest from the entrance of rattlesnake. Sidewinder itself is considered full on rock crawler/buggy territory, Sidewinder exit is considered extreme/ very difficult. I haven't attempted either one.
@@theutahtexan6276 Dude that sidewinder trail looks gnarly after watching a few videos. I just have a jeep wrangler sport open diff no lockers. It is lifted on 35s but even then I’m not sure about this one. Thanks for all the info man. Your video is really cool 🤙
Can I run a coffee maker??
Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower th-cam.com/users/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.
On off toggle, wind the 2 black wires together for one connection, other connection is yellow. Momentary, black connecting wire and red/brown wire.
What fridge model ?
Cool video. Where in Texas are you from? I was born in Utah but my family moved to San Angelo when I was 13. Now I’m back in Utah. Not far from skyline drive actually but I haven’t made it up there yet. By the looks of it there’s a lot crazier things I’ve done in a stock truck.
Very nice mods. Gives me some good ideas for mine should the switches fail in the future.
would it power two speakers, a brain with mic plugged in and tablet for music gigs?
Just thought I would add my experience with the 290. I have a smaller sized 20 quart/21 litre compressor cooler/fridge/freezer. The specks say the draw is 45 watts on Eco mode and 60 watts on normal mode. I set the fridge to 3 degrees Celsius and plugged it into my Jackery 290. I set a fridge thermometer inside along with some cans of beer. This was an indoors experiment with the ambient temperature between 23 degrees at night and 27 degrees Celsius during the day. I noticed that when the compressor kicked in the power draw on Eco mode was between 27-30 watts, not the rated amount of 45 watts. That is a big positive. The compressor would kick in when the fridge hit 4 degrees C and would quickly cool back to 3 degrees and cut out. I checked the thermometer on the inside and the small BougeRV fridge setting was impressively accurate. I ran the fridge on the 290 for over 24 hours and still had 5% battery when I stopped the test. I had one of the beers to cheer both BougeRV and the Jackery 290. Both will meet my needs quite nicely without a huge cash outlay.
Im going to wire mine up like this, after 4 yrs of owning it the handle bar bump switch just messed up today... was hard to start , then it kept running without being pulled/held down... i got mone as a refurbished unit 4 yrs ago and already had to bypass that red switch the 1st week.... love the mower though, works great for my little yard. Thanks for the great info... I'll try this fix before i either tear into it further or buy a new one this coming payday
i need more utah nissan people to wheel with
I don't wheel the frontier much. I mainly wheel my tundra. The frontier is difficult bc aftermarket is limited and as I've found with this truck (1st gen ) more and more parts are being discontinued by nissan. I like the little truck but for the harder stuff I use the tundra. 2nd and 3rd gen frontier is much better though
pice of junk
300 explorer is way better
Are you saling thet truck?
Nope. Was considering it but not any ore
@@theutahtexan6276 ok, thanks.
Spoiler Alert @ 2:59
This switch "sucks",,,,,,Loved it!
My ryobi won't start..the battery is fine...I need help with the wiring that you did with yours😊
goodyear duratrac gets louder and louder the more they wear.. good tire if you got the jack, make sure you rotate
Any advice on the size of the "butt connectors" to use? Gauge? Does it have to be a certain kind to hold a certain amount of power through without melting?
Also.. What about the button and switch added on the top handle? Any specific Amps / VOlts that I should use? Im not an electrician but enjoy doing Diys like this. Seems fairly straight forward. Thank you
Looking forward to more videos on your Frontier. 👍🏼
I think it is time for a class action lawsuit to get our money back
Absolutely! They should be responsible for all the problems with this mower. Accountability is needed!
Excellent,, that was my issue as well. What I did to fix it was that I put 2 layers of duck tape over it to get to be pressed in all the way.. thank you 👍
Wish you had shown how to do the wires before you put it back together. I’m going to try it I have the same mower
Yea one of those didn't think about it until after kind of deals lol
I have 0 skill in doing something like this. I will try something but at this point not too sure.
How do you charge it while driving ?
12v plug / cigarette lighter outlet
Thanks for the video . The 20 torx and a phillips was all I needed. Bypasses the red button safety switch and all seems good. Will do the other modifications if needed in the future. Thanks again for your help.
what size torx screws take the mower and the handle part apart?
What size on/off switch? 6amp, 10amp, 20amp?
