Investigating the impact of new technologies on our lives.
How will internet in space change our lives? Are police drones a good idea? Will AI help or hurt? Is social media causing mental illness? These are the questions covered on Digital Footprint, a TH-cam show which conducts deep-dive investigations of new technologies, but fun! (I promise)
Let me know what topics YOU would like to see discussed!

Why is Silicon Valley Investing Billions in This Place?
When I stumbled on a map of Northern Virginia, I saw an area with hundreds of these boring buildings. But what I found out is that this area with these boring buildings is the most important place on Earth.

Ban it ......why! Because allows people to tell and show the truth!
There’s actually a lot of censorship on TikTok…. But same with all social media lol. Lots of people built their careers and lively hood through tik tok, so it shouldn’t be banned. But we do need to address how the data is being used and how the algorithm is used to mass-influence people’s feelings/opinions. Right now it would be far to easy to slowly and subtly “brainwash”the entire country through TikTok, it needs checks and balances.
Or they could just sell it while its worth something. No way Half the country uses it either btw.
According to recent research, around 41% of the total population and 62% of under 30. Those numbers aren't perfect tho since a lot of the time, the survey measures use of the app *at least once a month*
Funny trump use to hate tick tok lol
It's kinda nuts they wanna get rid of it the day before he's in office I don't use it because I think it's unhealthy but freedom of speech they shouldn't be able to get rid of it
Yup, odd deadline for sure. It's tricky because the majority of Congress members from both parties voted against it because of "national security" issues with China. Freedom of speech doesn't seem to be part of the discussion that much
All this makes 0 sense unless you are completely technology illiterate. How will you keep a phone for decades and just upgrade it? It's like you try to put a modern camera, speakers, screen, motherboard, ram, memory chip etc on an iphone 5. You will spend a ton of money and the phone will not work simple because the technology has gone miles ahead in just a decade and an iphone 5 wasn't built for that. Comparisons between phones and vintage cars is a comparison of apples and bananas. You cant put "self driving technology" or make a 1960 ford mustang electric with the specs of a modern day Tesla. You cant even upgrade the safety belts to modern specifications

Your figures on power usage appear to contradict themselves, early in the vid a graph shows one USA resident today using 3 times more power than one in 1800, and then you go on to say that one person today consumes the same amount of energy as an entire family 100 years ago. Also, energy usage in development and research leading to machine learning outcomes are not a given, any company adopting that approach will not last long in today's world.
12:13 Well, DAMN.💀💀💀💀
Great video and am happy to have found the channel and now subscribed! Really enjoyed the subject matter highlighting the importance of ever growing energy demands. I am glad you touched on modern day energy usage in the US and I do not mean to take away from your point of rising energy usage on a daily level and being more cognizant of it. I am confused with the claim of toilets using 5Wh of energy. Majority of toilets work using water pressure from the cold water line. Looked into your source and did not see where you got that number from... maybe from the water treatment plant to then treat and pump the water. Seems a bit high though
I loved this format. Gave me a lot of things to think about. I'm working in some adjacent industries (tech/crypto/refi), so this is of great help. Keep it up, just subscribed

Flushing technically doesn't require energy
Yes it does. It does not require ELECTRICITY.
Flushing doesn't use energy. But getting the water in the first place does.
Genius
They're not afraid of EMP or ICBM tech then. Putting all your eggs in one basket would normally be considered inadvisable for critical infrastructure.

Over the last few years ive noticed an increase in the argument for nuclear power plants, and recently read about Canada's abundant uranium deposits, sadly i think they are going to, or have already started production, your info on energy used for Ai is staggering, i think our own needs are taking us away from needing more nuclear plants, but looks like nothing is going to stop them from pushing their agenda, i think the info i posted below is easily enough for most of the world's general needs, but Ai's impact is sadly moving us towards nuclear again...... This is crazy, the Sun already sends us too much energy, link after this intro: The Sun is the major source of energy for Earth’s oceans, atmosphere, land, and biosphere. Averaged over an entire year, approximately 342 watts of solar energy fall upon every square meter of Earth. This is a tremendous amount of energy-44 quadrillion (4.4 x 1016) watts of power to be exact. As a comparison, a large electric power plant produces about 1 billion (1 x 109 ) watts of power. It would take 44 million such power plants to equal the energy coming from the Sun. www.nasa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/135642main_balance_trifold21.pdf?emrc=5b9a71#:~:text=The%20Sun%20is%20the%20major,of%20power%20to%20be%20exact.

You will lose your hair anyway on minoxidil, because it's not what it's for... Minoxidil doesn't stop hair loss, it doesn't do anything regarding DHT which is causing it It simply increases the diameter of the hair shafts where it's absorbed, and promotes new hair growth Finasteride and dutasteride stop hair loss by blocking DHT, that's why we use both mixodixil and one of these People who complain about minoxidil not stopping their hair loss just don't understand what they are using
no AI didnt, and wont until ASI level, finasteride/dutasteride is all there is that works
and Minoxidil
Dutasteride is not a cure but it pauses the loss completely. 1 pill once every other day keeps the troubles away. P.S. only advised for men after puberty.
They should find a way to stop blond hair going dark in adulthood.
It's called being genetically pure. If you're a mongrel, you're a mongrel.
That's what AI needs to be for, help us all progress, and not to take from the masses for centralized monetary gain. 👍
Wow Russia true defenders of free speech
lol
First of all, men started losing their hair just now, because never in the history of mankind people ate such carcinogenic and inflammatory man made diets.
Bulls*it, hair loss has always been a problem
The solution is women that find bald men just as desirable or even more desirable. I mean we find pubic hair undesirable now apparently so heck may as well do away with all body hair.
You fail to realize that this is not a dating problem although its also that, its a freedom problem, the freedom of looking the way you want to look, and we want hair on our heads, go read machines of loving grace by dario amodei the ceo of anthropic ai, he generalize this concept to "biological freedom", that is, freedom to be how you want to be
the female attraction thing against balding is pretty brutal, but I'm mostly pissed that I can't keep my long hair, if it was just female attraction then first of all I wouldn't have long hair since I've seen quite a few women say it's a big turnoff. if you want to be bald because you think it suits your style then good, it doesn't suit mine and that's extremely annoying. I could unwillingly go bald if I go NW4+ but I'd be checking all the time if there's anything new to solve it
@@sussyjagrasyou're just being negative. My sister is marrying a bald guy and has dated bald guys in her past even guys that lost all their hair in their early 20s. Some women obviously do like the look.
Thanks for watching this episode of Digital Footprint! A video investigating the controversial reopening of nuclear power plants is coming soon, so make sure to subscribe and have notifications turned on for when it comes out!
I think maybe the attractiveness is less women preferring bald men, but bald men not having as big of a minus to discourage potential partners. I think this is correlated with the fact that- as you said, men have tried for millennia to cure and cover it. This leads me to believe that even though baldness is distressing it's perceived pretty neutrally by society just like body hair on women for example.
Great point!
Clickbait title plus applying needle patches to your bald spots indefinitely is the polar opposite of a CURE
The title is a question on whether this study actually found the cure (the compound it found is a VERY strong candidate). Obviously indefinitely applying needle patches is not the cure we're all looking for, but it could be the first step to getting there. Just like how the minoxidil pill turned into a lotion, these needle patches could one day become pills, lotions, sprays, even genetic manipulation with tools like CRISPR.
The needle patches create damage to the skin which promotes blood flow and makes it easier for the compound to be absorbed.
7:35 misspelled "thiophosphate"
