There's a new trail that just opened at Blue Derby, and it's a banger! Heaps of line choice, flow, and some epic features, this one is going to be a favourite 🙌 Mostly flowy with a bit of tech, this looks easy on the surface but be careful as it's not entirely just the open wide flow trail it appears on video.. 00:00 Intro 00:32 Start of Cuddles 03:34 Slab B Line 04:35 Slab A Line 06:15 Slab C ...

Walrus Dreaming is a fast, flowy (if you can nail the line!) trail with a few bigger jumps, that links on to the start of Flow Head. Reminds me a lot of the St Helens trails with a similar style and flow to it.

มุมมอง 1.2Kปีที่แล้ว
First and second runs down Jabba, what a trail! So much fun, can get pretty wild once you get some speed up - video doesn't really show it but some of those corners/catches are already super blown out from the people railing down it for Tas Grav practice, makes for a unique and loose proper black trail, love it! Liquidus / Tippogoree Hills, Georgetown MTB
มุมมอง 817ปีที่แล้ว
Heading up to Little Tip Summit but have decided you don't want to go all the way to the top? Liquidus is for you. A fairly flat & fast trail, that has a few sneaky lines if you have the speed and are committed enough. You'll want to conserve as much speed as you can, there isn't a whole lot of elevation drop so you may find yourself pedaling a bit.
Flow Head / Tippogoree Hills, Georgetown MTB
มุมมอง 1.5Kปีที่แล้ว
Flow head is a flowy green trail with a good mix of small to larger jumps. Easy to get to from the shuttle point, and has plenty of options for progressing your skills and working up to bigger, steeper, and longer jumps. Good fun! Camera: GoPro Hero 11 Black Bike: 2020 Trek Rail
Devils Elbow / Tippogoree Hills, Georgetown MTB
มุมมอง 2.9Kปีที่แล้ว
Devil's Elbow is a fun, techy, loose, and fairly steep double black with a load of line choice. Plenty of drops & steep rolls whilst still keeping a bit of flow. The faster you go, the more challenging it gets. One of my favourites. Camera: GoPro Hero 11 Black Bike: 2020 Trek Rail
Black Swan / Tippogoree Hills, Georgetown MTB
มุมมอง 927ปีที่แล้ว
Black Swan is a fairly short single black diamond trail that starts from the Little Tipp Summit, and descends back to The Saddle (the shuttle drop-off point). Has a good mix of tech and flow, with a few features for those brave enough to have a crack at them. IMO, on the easier side of black trails, but be careful - can be unexpectedly tricky due to how loose and dusty it is! Camera: GoPro Hero...

      On one hand, it's great it's so close to town! On the other hand, yeah, it really is noisy. Can't say the exhaust I have ever noticed, but noise is for sure bad.

      @@IBCMTB Right down the bottom you'll get exhaust fumes if its not a windy day. Not ideal when you're breathing hard! The noise is a real turn off. I tend to avoid these sections and get out to the back trails asap... • @IBCMTB
      @IBCMTB ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks for your watching! Pick of the lot out of the Wild Mersey would be starting in Railton, heading down Woodhooker, up Ewoks and across to Sheffield trails to the top, down Syked Out (and check out the double black on the way), Down 7 Shreds into Gnarvana, then a quick loop around Echidn Me. Pretty solid lap though, I think around 700-900m very from memory. Likely to be fairly wet out that way with all the rain recently, Latrobe tend to hold up better, but that's more on the green/blue side of things. Another fantastic option is Iron Tor in Penguin. Solid climb up but is the best descent in the NW (in most people's opinions at least), descent holds up to wet weather really well, climb can get a bit soggy in spots.

    • @IBCMTB
      @IBCMTB ปีที่แล้ว

      Also just a tip re Railton, you can park at a few different spots, 'official' trailhead is in Railton, but you can park on Newbed Road (at the top of Super Hornet) and skip ~100vm climb, OR, can also park at Stoodley Forest Arboretum at top of Ewoks climb

      Have to be close up there! Best for learning/progressing on for sure, it's really approachable for having quite big jumps! Will probably be fairly wet next weekend though so maybe not as good as in summer, the bottom section is still closed too, so the full trail isn't open yet.

    • @IBCMTB
      @IBCMTB ปีที่แล้ว

      Same! It was surprising how intrusive the highway noise is, I think it was commented on at some point during the ride. On the other hand, I'm sure it's nice to have something so close to the city to ride too

    • @betula2137
      @betula2137 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IBCMTB Definitely, that noise always gets my "put them all on bikes" senses tingling -- well, repetitive urban journeys are relatively easier by ebike than car, because the cars can't fit if there are too many of them, the speeds are dangerous for accessibility, and they make tremendous noise that echoes everywhere (including apparently to negative health effects). 🚲🚲🚲⛐
