Tommy Tutty and Ken Hemmingway - Praskeen Apron and Old Sacks
The 'praskeen' apron and re-using old sacks
Here's a little video I recorded on my phone in the shed of Tommy Tutty in Ballyfad back in 2018. I visiting Tommy with a neighbour of mine, Ken Hemmingway and as soon as Ken saw the old farm sacks he was reminded of the 'praskeens' that people made from them.
Praskeen is lovely little Irish word for an apron that survived here and I'm sure in other counties too. The chat moves onto Tommy talking about making a type of hoody out of the old sacks when they'd be working on cab-less tractors on wet days back. Again, I'm sure some of you will remember these days too.
On an aside - for anyone interested in accents like me, the men have two distinct north Wexford accents, one from Kiltealy in north west Wexford and the other from Ballyfad in north east Wexford. Have a listen as I'm sure some of you will relate to the content

See the Trees and Water under the bridge. The Spirit world is connected to them. Leprechauns are real. In MAY 2014, I was near an Ash tree hedge that had Thorn in it as well. My very young neice and nephew, see "him", with I had my back to the hedge. When i turned around, he disappeared. They are not Good. They are evil. The place i was, is hunted.

Leprechauns are 100% real. In May 2018 at dusk, my nephew and niece see one. In a field up the garden. The hedge was Ash trees and Thorn hedge. I was there but had my back turned when he appeared. The children seen him. I turned around, he vanished. They are evil spirits. The hair on the back of my neck stood up. The place is hunted. A farmer up the road told me, "I wouldn't live there". He most have heard stories.
