Het idee om "thuisblijfvrouw" te worden vanuit een zogenaamd "christelijk perspectief" voelt als een terugval naar middeleeuwse opvattingen en lijkt eerder luiheid te rechtvaardigen dan een bewuste keuze. Veel vrouwen balanceren werk en huishouden succesvol. Het tegendeel beweren ondermijnt niet alleen het intellect, maar ook de lange strijd voor vrouwenrechten. Zoals Margaret Thatcher zei: "If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman." Vrouwen hebben bewezen dat ze in staat zijn om beide rollen te vervullen. Als je kiest om thuis te blijven, is dat je recht, maar gebruik geen religie als dekmantel voor luiheid. Dat doet afbreuk aan je argumenten en geeft een verkeerd beeld van wat geloof werkelijk inhoudt.

Since we never know what the future holds would not want to be dependant financially by a man. Should you wish to leave the marriage you would have a harder time if you don’t have your own money. Also I would have a hard time looking past the power dynamic if one brings in all the money. But maybe this is my perspective from Scandinavia and it’s different in other countries and cultures. Just be careful and prioritise yourself.

I’ve learned in my relationship with God, which requires Faith in Him to follow Him and trust in Him when He lays things on my heart that the same is true with my husband. A marriage requires faith, and walking in the the decisions (made together or by him alone as leader of the home) takes trust in knowing what God is doing in you both. There is so much peace when walking in “order”, the more relaxed you are the more comfort you bring to the home. There’s nothing more precious than each person stepping into their natural creative role and we as women have so many opportunities in the home. Thankful you and your husband are walking according to God’s ways vs the ways of the world or the fear of man. ❤️

I've gotten A LOT of pushback from my family as well for making decisions that went against their beliefs (going away for college, living abroad alone, being in my 30s unmarried and with no children.) You have to do what's best for you at the end of the day. You are very lucky to have such a supportive husband. In the USA we have a saying that goes, "Teamwork makes the dream work." I hope your marriage continues to embody that :)

Sounds like a typical guy with money who wants a combo maid/Barbie. Go and get a career and earn your own money, I love looking around my home and all my luxury items proud that I paid for it. Also death or divorce could have a detrimental effect on your lifestyle at any moment and it’s best to be as self sufficient as possible.

You are very young so it is wonderful that you have had such profound thoughts about your lifestyle. Congratulations for making the changes that better align with your values and your true self. Your newly designed closet looks lovely. I predict that after you have lived with this pared down wardrobe and accessories you will sooner or later do another purge and get rid of even more. You will feel again how liberating it is to remove things you really don’t need. Best wishes to you.

Decluttering is a long process. I'm longer than 10 years decluttering and still not there. It is because you will eventually start collecting and shopping again. And that is totally okay. It is because although you know what you want, it is still difficult to find what you want in a store. Sometimes what you want just doesn't exist.
