The Safest Route To Starting a Business
Are you thinking about starting a business? Are you scared that it might now work out? So many influencers on social media will tell you to quit your job tomorrow and start a business. Is that good advice? I don't think so. It is horrible advice. Starting a business is one of the biggest decisions if not the biggest decision of your life because it completely changes your life forever. There is no more work life balance. There is more stress. There is more responsibility. You have to have support from your spouse and other key members in your family for longevity in business. Today's video poses the realistic viewpoint of starting a business and what you should consider before becoming an entrepreneur.
1. You may have a high paying job. If you are making great money, this means that you more to lose by starting a business. Unfortunately, sometimes, we are paid too much to take the risk! The risk of staying where you are has to be more than starting a business. If you don't have a good business idea that you really believe in. That can replace your income within 2-3 years, then you should probably not start a business.
2. You need a lot of money saved up. You need money saved up because it takes sometimes, 3-6 months for a business to even turn a profit. Also, having money saved means that you can be strategic with starting your business. You don't have to take on every client! Because you don't NEED the money.
3. You need to plan in GREAT detail. How do you improve your chances of success in business? You plan for it. You plan in great detail, what you are going to do your first 30 days in business by the hour. How are you going to get clients, who am I going to reach out to, what marketing tactics am I going to use?
4. Can you start the business as a side hustle? This is the best of both worlds because usually you can easily transition into your own business as you have now seen it grow.

When should you start a business?
มุมมอง 11316 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
How do you know when you should start a business? This is a hard question that most pre-entrepreneurs struggle with. They don't know when they should actually start their business. A lot times this paralyzes them into inaction. They constantly toy with the idea and almost sound like a broken record, "I am about to start." This is a good thing. We SHOULD be evaluating if a business idea is worth...

Why are your arms too long?
😂😂 thanks for the compliment I guess
I subcontract out jobs from leads that I specifically find for my subcontractors. that way I keep the customer in MY books, and I make a couple hundred off each gig. Why dont you do this? there must be a reason
It is more time effective for me to just sell the lead and be done with it. I don’t have to review the job, call the client, etc. Time is more valuable to me since I have other businesses.
Truck rental plus mileage. O yeahhh...that easy. Not including insurance just for the truck. Minus gas and the extra worker. Not including tolls. You gotta charge more or might as well work for someone elses.
Yes, definitely a lot of moving parts here
Most people spend 30k on a wedding im gonna spend 30k and buy the venue
😂😂 you should! It’s crazy
How about subway in Columbus oh
Could be good or bad depending on the expenses and income.
Anybody can make money in this world? People from 3-2nd world countries can’t
They can make money relative to their cost of living. Some one making $5K a year in the Philippines is middle class. If you take that person to the us they aren’t. Just like a $100K in Ohio is more money than $100K in California
Did this man really just say “extra blow money”? 😂😂😂😂
I don’t mean “blow” 😂😂 I meant it’s just extra spending money that doesn’t change my life. Not the best words!! 😂🫡
@@nate_indiana_jones 😉
What about advertising cost, Employee's, A Truck, Trailer, Material?
Depends on a lot of factors here. Run different scenarios and call around
No, that's what rich people think.
😂😂 please explain the alternative…
@@nate_indiana_jones Rich people think they're smart, special and hard working and deserve what they got. Often they inherited it, exploited laws, tax codes and their workers, bought politicians, lobbied congress for favorable laws to get where they are. Not all, but soooooo damn many.
what is opening and closing a pool? like the pool covers?
Yes, essentially shutting down the pool for the year for winter. If you are not in the south, this needs to be done.
I'm inheriting anywhere from 140-240 acres with a house on it. Been thinking about starting a rustic type wedding venue. Maybe a build a barn and an outdoor altar next to a field of wildflowers. Thanks for the info
That would be awesome! Pretty inexpensive since you own the land as well!!
You don't need a van. Just had a guy come here to spray my place in a nice pick up SUV.
Yeah an SUV will work, probably same cost
This is a joke bro. I wouldn’t put content out without knowing what you’re talking about. We run a 3 man crew, we can install 1,200-1,500sqft a day of LVP at 1.50/swft. That’s BUSTING ass. I’m actually dissolving my installation business after 7 years and starting an interior demo business because I’m tired of working so hard for peanuts. You break 120-150k/yr you found a cheat code lol
Every location is different
It's not what you know it's who you know. That is what I was told. Self-confidence is extremely important.
Exactly!
Never open your mouth to speak again, you're pathetic 😂😂😂😂
Honestly you are just saying you would be a bad friend and a bad partner so have fun dying alone though
Hahah I’m sorry this post made you this mad.
@@nate_indiana_jones not mad kiddo just stating facts
We’ll have a great night. Thanks for wishing negativity on me. Hope you feel great about yourself.
@@nate_indiana_jones not wishing negativity on you at all just stating facts, unless of course if you are gay then have fun with men. All women likes a partner that can listen to them because they need to vent and you have made it clear that ain't you thus no woman will want to be with you. Have a great night you too with your boyfriend
👍🏻
Nope me and my best friend did that and 5 years later we are still best friends, someone that vents doesn't always want you to fix a problem which you men never seem to understand sometimes people just need someone that listens to them.
I’m too busy making money to listen to your problems
I already created an LLC, opened a bank account, got my articles, operating agreement, and have around 5000$. What should I do? Should I buy tools first? Should I buy insurance first? Do I need a license to be a drywall contractor? As for the crew that's easy I have a lot of contacts. Also how I find the jobs? Should I talk to tother drywall contractors and sub contract for them or talk to general contractors?
I would find a source of jobs before you do anything. Call and message home builders, GC’s, other drywall companies, contractors, home remodelers, property managers. Essentially, I would make sure that when you press “Go” you know you’ll have work lined up.
Okay give me all your assets and every dollar to your name since you can get that back or wait an extra 10 minutes due to them being stuck in traffic
I agree I am not jerk about it but a lot of times it is not due to traffic.
Gross sales of $500k, Franchisees are netting $100k a year. Yup makes sense but it’s hard work.
Yeah Franchises are risky but definitely worth it for a passive investor

So my husband is a certified electrical tree line trimmer and crew leader for a professional company. Has been working since 2016. Work is slow sometimes and only does 40 hrs week but when there are storms, 2-3 shifts in a row. However he started doing side jobs. He just bought his own bucket truck, chipper. Truck has commercial ins. He is getting quite a few side jobs. I'm just the wife helping him get side jobs. However, i'm trying to figure out which way to go for side jobs. Sole proprietor or LLC. Doing my research. Just him and he gets other tree trimmers to help out if jobs are bigger. Want to get him licensed and insured especially for bigger jobs. Just kinda stumped on how to go about it. Any advice.
I would recommend an LLC for the protection of your personal assets. Formalize this into a business with a separate bank account and legal entity. Sole proprietors are not good legal formations. Talk with a business lawyer obviously since I am not one.
Why dont u middle man asphalt council jobs???
What do you mean?
@@nate_indiana_jones sell the contract to another company an get the difference
I think that is a viable option if you have good subs that do good work. If the subs screws something up, you’ll be on the hook.
What limo do you own/drive for 50 dollars in gas. I have a 2004 excursion that gets 10 miles to the gallon on a Canadian gallon. Gas is my second biggest expense besides insurance.
I agree, gas prices are up. Hopefully this changes soon for Canada and the US. This political environment is killing the small business.
@@nate_indiana_jones no kidding. We are new to the limo business. Right now our gas has come down to 1.54 a litre times 3.75 litres to a gallon it adds up. I’m wondering if the hummer limo or the Chevy Yukons or Escalades are any cheaper on gas since they have a smaller V8. We have the ford V10. Trying to figure that all out before we upgrade.
Yeah but the V8 may have problems compared to the V10, make sure you do your research
Your so right, everyone right now wants to start a business to be a coach or mentor. Not actual businesses
Real businesses make REAL wealth!
Thanks for your content, man! These videos always get my mind turning. Please keep showing your true progress and success. Rooting for you and your family! Cheers

O boy, I needed to hear this. Well said.
Good! Let’s get it!
@@nate_indiana_jones Yes sir.
THIS. So true. It’s basic morals.
Parents don’t expect it but it is the right thing to do.
How about tiles flooring Business ❤
Yes! I’ve done it, follow this link: How to start a Flooring Business ($720K a Year Profit) th-cam.com/video/HGToOjUptjs/w-d-xo.html
For most families, yes. In my family, my father pays. Period. It's a huge pride thing. NOBODY pays for his meals except him.
This 100% My mom was single taking care of me and my siblings. None of my other siblings help take care of her. I ended up moving but I still send her money.
What a nice thing to do. It is the right thing to do! Great job, you should be proud.
Never let this man cook again
Take care of your parents! Be a man.
Do I have to buy a cab and chassis or can I buy a pickup truck for towing? Also where do you get these add ons for towing?
I would search for a hood used tow truck with somewhat low miles. If you know how to fix trucks then you will do great.
How to exploit people like a leach.
I creator can’t go as far unless someone is there to facilitate.
@@nate_indiana_jones keep huffing your own farts
😂😂 I am not saying anything negative about creators. Both individuals need each other. Look at the 2 Steve’s that created Apple…
Thats what they are supposed to do. They made a decision to have a kid, so they take care of that kid. I dont expect my children to do anything for me. Im not their responsibility.
Great! You shouldn’t expect it as a parent you should feel appreciated and shocked when it happens. You sound like a great parent. This is a message to young men and women who want to treat their parents.
I personally feel fantastic when I do any service for my parents as it’s my way of showing them my appreciation for what they have done for me.
@heatherotica exactly, same here
I do kitchen and bath remodels, I think I could build a house i understand how it all works now I just don’t know how to get funding
A lot of times people get construction loans when a client wants to build.
I live in a town of 27,000 people. Every time I'm on Facebook (our community page) and someone needs something hauled away we have 10 to 12 people promoting their dumpster rental business. If you start a roll off dumpster business with only 1 dumpster you will never make enough money to pay for gas, insurance, dump fees and maintenance. Insurance alone will cost around a thousand a month starting out.
You should make a video on starting a full time living RV park. I see people building them all over. People need affordable housing and are moving into these parks. Maybe a tiny home community.
@mr.hooter702 great point! There are so many other profitable businesses
@mr.hooter702 I’ll make a video about that soon!
@@nate_indiana_jones You are a hundred percent right. There is a lot to break down building and RV park. I hope you can break down all the cost from buying land and what it takes to get it all going. Good luck and I'm looking forward to it.
@mr.hooter702 I did this one for a Rv and boat storage lot - How To Start a Boat and RV Storage Business ($360K a year) th-cam.com/video/AyZlROyfmIM/w-d-xo.html Is this what you mean?
Depends on your business, most of the time its not up to you.
I agree! Plan what you can react to the unexpected
imo its more about doing the least possible with the biggest output
Well how is that working out for you? Are you rich yet? If not, you are probably wrong
@@nate_indiana_jones richhh no, but for my age yes, 19 with over 100k euro invested
