You're correct that you have to cook in the feeding phase before the birthing. The only correction to your statement is that you can only ever have 1 newborn. 6 parents will still only make 1 newborn. The challenge comes from not having space and only having 2 parents. It prevents you from getting free food essentially.

There are always 9 turns in the base game so 9 timer tokens. In an easier version, you can add the two blue ones. The green side shows that you passed your turn, whereas the tan side shows that you guessed wrong. It serves as a reminder which card was an incorrect guess. For the missions, the second number is the amount of incorrect guesses you're allowed. Missions are explained at 2:59. A 9-5 means you get 9 turns (9 timer tokens) but 5 of them can be incorrect guesses. The other 4 need to be "green side up" turns. Hope that makes sense.

You can buy one or two chips per round, but if you buy two, the second has be a different colour than the first.

The gameplay itself is pretty easy to understand. The issue would be that each level has different rules and there is a story. I'm sure you can probably find a digital manual somewhere, if not, tools like Google translate on your mobile can do live picture/image translation, so that might work for your needs

Thanks for your question. The blue timer tokens are used in some missions and in the easy mode. The standard game uses the 9 white timer tokens. 2:59 briefly discusses missions.

Yes the grain is sown, additionally you can only sow grain in empty fields so 2 would never turn into 4. I don't think there is a card that allows you to harvest more grain but if there is, it would probably be an occupation (yellow card)

Player B places their worker on the meeting place space, then takes the yellow start player marker. Next round they would be the first player. I believe the "immediate effect" is simply taking the first player token.

I commented on BGG as well, but I just wanted to add: 45:15 You didn't need to use the Magic Rock Candy there. What you did--petting both of your chickens by spending two hearts--was just a normal end of turn action. The item, as clarified here, would allow you to do one of those end of turn effects at any time during your turn without having to pay for it. So either Patrick would still have his item or if he did spend it there, it would have saved one of your hearts. It's not really worded well on the text of the card.

Correct again! We did use the item to pet both the chickens, but we would have been up 1 heart. Hmm come to think of it, that rock candy would have been good to use for a tool upgrade! Again, thanks for the feedback.

It's a great game and you should definitely try it out. There is a very well done mobile version too.

Marquis are pretty good if you know what you're doing but if you're a first timer they are the hardest faction in spite of the game telling you they're easy because you're attacked often and have to figure how to stop the bleeding early on. Eyrie are hands down the easiest to helm once you get the decree down and tend to steamroll once they get going

I also find that the Eyrie can very easily win with dominance cards due to their "Lords of the forest" ability.

With patience, everyone can learn these games.
