At 2:30, a player rules a clearing if they have more total warriors and buildings in it than each other player. (Tokens and pawns do not contribute to rule.) At 3:55, Dominance cards are activated from your hand, not from the board. They don't have to be played for their suit first. But if they would be discarded for any reason, they become available to be exchanged for any card in your hand. You don't have to activate it when you do - you could take it defensively.
Marquis are pretty good if you know what you're doing but if you're a first timer they are the hardest faction in spite of the game telling you they're easy because you're attacked often and have to figure how to stop the bleeding early on. Eyrie are hands down the easiest to helm once you get the decree down and tend to steamroll once they get going
The detail in this game is intense pretty sure you need above average intelligence to be able to play this game ???This game is beyond my scope of comprehension???

Yes, you're correct about both!
I have never considered blocking someone by spending suit to take a dominance card, interesting tactic!
It does look colorful and fun, I bet its a blast to play! Marquis de cat is clearly the best faction.
It's a great game and you should definitely try it out. There is a very well done mobile version too.

I also find that the Eyrie can very easily win with dominance cards due to their "Lords of the forest" ability.

With patience, everyone can learn these games.
