Thanks - I’m struggling a bit with teaching my two the changes. We have canter-walk-canter, we have simple changes, but the flying change doesn’t seem to occur to them. I’ll try these exercises for a bit and ask again - looks like it should be fairly straightforward but I’ve never taught a horse changes.

I had exactly the same thing, my horse goes beautifully in the warm-up and can get tense and tight when moving into the main arena. We went in to do novice 4 and he gave such a nice test, a few silly mistakes but still nice. We got a 64% which was an absolute joke, the judges forget that it is novice level and mistakes will be made - they shouldn’t be as costly they are. I genuinely came out the test so pleased and watched it back really happy only to get such a disappointment score! So frustrating 😢

Why do you have to have the horses chin so tucked into their necks so much. I do not like it at all. It is not fair to the horse, and some professionals have the chin dangerously pulled into the neck. Horses do not naturally hold their heads this way. It is really quite dangerous and impinges their airways. This is only done for vanity and not in the horses best interest.

Yes I really enjoyed the video. Horses all working well. I thought your Grand Prix horse ( I think you said he was) looked effortless and flowing in his zig zag and flying changes. Beautiful horse. Indy doing well with her two. Yes would love to see more🤩
