As much as I HATE to say this, it must be said nonetheless. One can hear the beginnings of her ever-widening vibrato in several of the arias. Of course, by the mid-60s it was so out of control it became difficult to listen to anything she sang. Sadly, she passed away just as she was starting to work with a vocal coach to get her voice back into somewhat better shape.

Очень благодарна каналу за такую подборку с Каллас Singl1955 г. Digital 1914г.( HD96 KHz/ 24bit). Как же я её люблю . Могу слушать до бесконечности. В первые её услышала лет в10, а сейчас мне уже 81 й. Её ни с кем сравнить не возможно, она уникальна и неповторимая. Ещё раз спасибо!!!🎉🎉🎉

Seppure al limite del comico per la troppa enfaticità delle sue espressioni, Gobbi rimane probabilmente il più terribile Scarpia (nel senso buono) che sia mai esistito
I totally agree. Gobbi is a characature of Scarpia- a real SNL style presentation. Callas' voice is raw and possibly due to declining resources her vocal presentation lacks subtlety. Bergonzi is so polished yet very appropriate and responsive to text as to seem out of place among these vocalists.

Harsh singing?.....MARIA "LA DIVINA" had a flawless technique and a voice out of this world. INCOMPARABLE
I so agree. Callas' voice was so ugly. Tebaldi was supreme in this role.
