Baxter Kruger | Jesus Meets Us In Our Delusion of Separation
What if we were convinced of what God knows to be true, that at every moment and in every situation we face, Jesus is present in us, with us and all around us. And he brought his Father and the Holy Spirit with him! In this conversation with theologian C. Baxter Kruger, Ph.D., we delve into the assumption of separation as the great darkness designed by evil to keep us at arm's length from our Father, fearing the very one who created us in his perfect love. Instead, Jesus says to us, "I'm within you. Listen to me and take sides with me against the way you see my Father. I'm inside you--just ask me!"

Hey Brent! Thanks for the video. My understanding of the gospel has shifted through out the years to see that we were born again through the resurrection of Jesus (1 Peter 1:3). Couple of questions: I was meditating on these same verses about already being clean before coming across your video. John 15:3 says you are already clean because of the word (message) I have spoken..do you think it could be the same message of 1 John.."This is the message - there is no darkness in him"..? Also, I want to believe everybody is already clean because of the eternal gospel but Jesus says in the next verse in John 13 that Judas was not clean. How do we understand that in light of the other scripture? Thanks

It's not that we're saying what happened in this story didn't actually happen (which is how some people would define what is true). It's that we're looking at stories with the lenses of seeing an exceptionally good and tenderhearted Father who Jesus perfectly modeled for us. Jesus himself, then, is our perfect truth! So, when we read something that appears to be in direct contradiction to the Father Jesus lived out before us (Jesus, who told us not to be afraid and who wanted us to call God, Abba--a very tender word, more like Papa or Daddy), then we need to ask Holy Spirit to reveal in the story what we cannot yet see. Using as our starting point a Father who adores his children and is lovingly maturing us by reminding us of our true nature until we believe it, we will start seeing the same story in an entirely redemptive light. Thanks for taking the time to respond, Cary!

John 8:41-44. Here Jesus says to his fellow Jews, “For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does…. When [the devil] lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.” In medieval Christian folklore and artwork, Jews were depicted with grotesque characteristics such as devil’s horns, sharp claws, jagged teeth, pointy ears, and other satanic features to portray the differences between Christianity and Judaism.

I agree with you, Kathryn, and much more importantly, Papa is so happy to respond and help you! Your prayer sounds a bit like the Apostle Paul's "I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to you the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know him through your deepening intimacy with him. I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling -that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that he finds in us, his holy ones! I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith." (Eph 1:17-19, TPT) And to this prayer, God's answer is a resounding "Yes!"

@@kathrynnewton8721 Here's that same passage in the Mirror Bible: "I desire that you will draw directly from the source; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, kindles within you the spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the unveiling of his Master Plan. I long for you to know by revelation what he has known about you all along. I pray that your thoughts will be flooded with light and inspired insight; that you will clearly picture his intent in identifying you in him so that you may know how precious you are to him. What God possesses in your redeemed innocence is his treasure and the glorious trophy of his inheritance. You are God's portion. You are the sum total of his assets and the measure of his wealth." Wow! That's amazing stuff right there, and along with you, I ask all the time for Holy Spirit to awaken me to God's reality. He is such a good, good Father!
