Houdini project overview - Foam like simulation - long talk
We will talk through the process of creating a Flip solver with all the necessary setups. Also, let's bring our SOP level mask attribute to the DOP network; it has a different approach to work that properly.
And if you know how to affect pscale for the individual particles in the flip simulation, please let me know in the comments below.
00:00 - Introduction to the set up.
01:30 - Prepare a geometry
03:40 - Not necessary to show the additional elements
04:10 - Creating a mask with Pyrospread
10:00 - Into a Flip solver
17:20 - Starting with SOP solver inside a DOP network
30:43 - Redshift materials, settings and output setup
36:00 - The End

Houdini Tutorial - Line structure from particles in POP Network. Loop animation.
มุมมอง 2.1K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
There are quite a few tips and tricks on how to create a more stable structure in the POP solver rather than chaotic and noisy particles flying around. And just a bit of loop animation. It is one method among dozens around youtube. This time, let's open Houdini Side FX and learn a growth effect technique together. Everything is possible and there are so many ways to complete the same effect inside a Houdini, so this is only one thought about how to accomplish it. Why grow speed isn't linear?
it grows fast and than slows down
Just personal motion preference.
Thank you so much, it was really helpful.
awesome
i love you
Not working in H20, any tip?
which step?
THANK YOU!
Smart people like you really help bring out the true power of Houdini. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
Cool tutorial. I know thickness is needed for VDB. But why did you delete the inner wall first and then extrude it back ?
thanks ! I think it was a model-dependent situation. In that particular case, the topology of the model inside was just a weird cut shape. So I wanted to have a "true" thickness, not ended at the top of the bottle inside. I selected a loop and deleted everything inside. And then, as you said the VDB requires to work with extruded geo. I added the extrude back but this time all the surface of the bottle was extruded. Hope that makes sense.
This looks awesome! 🥳
Thanks a lot 🙏
Thank you so much
🙏Thank you
cool!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing! Thank you.
how do make the bubbles
there are 3 particle simulations for the bubbles. All started from the edge of the glass. 19:33 1 - just simple pop network with wind effect down with noise and some pop drag. 2 - the same for bigger bubbles, but the wind is not that strong and pop drag on the opposite is much stronger. and xyz distance function to stick the particles to the surface of the glass. so that will restrict the bubbles in the motion given the illusion of being inside the glass. and simple redshift particles.
That's pretty neat !!! Thanks
I really liked your tutorial, I just missed the explanation of the points above about att transfer.
I used attribute transfer node to copy my mask attrib. On the left - the geo itself with mask = 0 in point wrangle. On the right is the geo of the growing VDB we created earlier. And another point wrangle with mask = 1. So now whenever we have growing geo we have mask attribute on the static bottle. I hope that makes sense. Alternatively, you could use pyro spread to generate an organic growth effect on the geometry. Or non simulated methods with further remapping of the parameter. whatever you like the best check these videos for more info - th-cam.com/video/0FX7tcrYR_0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7CwnEt1wonn_l0Nj - th-cam.com/video/b7e9wnDBI78/w-d-xo.htmlsi=G33kDS0kcXWpYdpx - th-cam.com/video/glUV4FnOC4M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Sj4UHkrmu4bfUzKk - th-cam.com/play/PLqA3grGAK2LtDBZpMeS8R5fB8dIM9iUrc.html&si=Ym9dHSuFQk96RNtN and then you use the mask to displace a geometry.
Cool stuff!
❤
thank you for the tutorial
Glad you liked it🎉
Nice one!
Wow,nice! Thänx for this tutorial! It looks GREAT!
Great tutorial, I like the way and hope for more such a content for you, subscribe! Thank you
amazing
i can see this used as inspiration to a AD for a nanoweapon based bullet kkkkk "assured to kill your victims even if the bullet just scratch him" klkkkkk
wtf!? that was DIVINE!
Thank you for the tutorial 🙏 Could you do a tutorial on houdini about growing plants on an object (typography, some forms etc ) ?
I sure we can.
Good tut, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
This feels like it's part of something bigger, are you going to tell a story?
This was rather an experiment with restricted time to share general feeling. But is so cool you see a bigger story behind that. Every story in the eyes of a viewer! Thanks a lot.
Love this! Feels really unique.
Amazing 🤍
Whoah. If this was a screensaver I would use it. It looks stunning. Idk what it is, but you got this. :D
Thanks a lot. This is personal project exploring a Houdini.

Hi I have a job for you if you are interested are you able to get in touch with me ? We could not find any contact info Thanks
wow super dope!! Can I know if there's a tutorial that I can check out?
If anyone needs the same transition effect with light in Octane, plug the gradient node in the texture of your blackbody emission and your vertex map node in the gradient's texture
oh look , a 4-D corn dog
Amazing shader <3
Is there a tutorial for this work?
Nothing to share from it at the moment. It is all basically Houdini exploration. If you want to know smth specific maybe I could help)
nice :) this is not possible in octane?
Thanks! I've used Octane 2 years ago last time, so have no relevant updated info about features out there. You could use maxon noise in octane (if I remember that right), but don't think there is modulo operation. (might be wrong) Sooo) you could do everything else in octane but the modulo and change range.
One of best tuts for octane and noises I ve seen, you could check on this channel th-cam.com/video/-vTZlJpey6s/w-d-xo.html

Appreciate it! I've learned a lot about expresso in C4d with your tutorials!
@@purplelight2947 Great to hear! I have only just bought a Redshift license, but I am already loving it. So fast and intuitive.
@@ExpressoMechanicTV yeh, redshift - great. I used here older version with old ui, so it might be different in settings now. But overall the same. Color space - here you could dive in, because of ACES. And when I talk about gamma to 2.2 here, now it is raw for black and white pict, rgb for colors, and rec 2.1 for exr in dome light.
