Lenny Lamb Light Baby Carrier review
The Lenny Lamb Light is an absolutely fantastic, super versatile baby carrier. Called the Light because this model was designed to be a lighter, simpler version of Lenny Lamb Upgrade, the Lenny Lamb Light is genuinely a fantastic carrier in its own right. Walking the perfect line between enough padding to be supportive without feeling at all bulky, and enough adjustability to fit a huge range of parent shapes and sizes and also baby shapes and sizes without feeling like there is too much to adjust or that it is overly complicated. Genuinely this carrier is genius for keeping everything simple and yet compromising on nothing. And it looks truly fantastic!
In this video I take you through this carrier in depth from bottom to top and go through all its features and why I absolutely love it.
It comes in a range of stunning colourways and designs to suit all tastes and is my top pick for anyone considering an Artipoppe Carrier, because the Lenny Light looks just as good as the Artipoppe, but is less than half the price and is generally speaking more comfortable and more flexible for both parent and baby. You can find it in my webshop here - sheenslings.com/product/lenny-lamb-light-carrier/
and all carrier purchases come with a free online video fit check so you can have peace of mind that help is on hand getting to grips with this carrier should you need it

How to support baby's head and neck in while in a Close Caboo baby carrier.

The Close parent Caboo is an absolutely fabulous newborn carrier. But one question I get time and time again from parents is how do you support babies head while in the carrier. Often parents are worried there isn't enough support and so feel like they need to hold. But this is really solvable with a few simple tweaks which I show here. I hope this helps! Seated Sideways Carry in a Ring Sling
มุมมอง 2973 หลายเดือนก่อน
While almost all videos show a tummy to tummy or tummy to hip positioning in a ring sling, other positions are definitely possible! One position we commonly hold babies in and they often really enjoy is a seated sideways - with both legs together and body at a 90 degree angle relative to the parents chest. It gives baby a bit of a view of the world as well as a better view of caregivers' faces....

How to Breastfeed or Chestfeed in a Stretchy Wrap

Or more correctly, how to use a stretchy wrap to offer your back support while feeding baby. I actually feel the phrase feeding a wrap is a bit misleading because it implies hands free activity, which simply put isn't possible. Feeding in Slings and Carriers - Safety considerations and How to do it!

The biggest thing to consider when considering combining feeding - be that breastfeeding or bottle feeding - with slings or carriers is how old is your baby? I love the KahuBaby carrier, it is such a lightweight, wonderfully comfortable carrier. But I don't love it in this position. Do you keep the inside (newborn) zipper closed or open in this position? My baby is 9.5 months and weighs 8.5kg.
So weirdly I find this can depend on the parent. In theory you'd have the zipper open where you are carrying onwards or outwards for a baby at this age/size... But in practise on this carrier it depends on how long the caregivers torso is. Opening the zipper only increases the length of the harness which means you can wear the waistband lower ... But for parents with shorter torsos this isn't helpful. So I find I actually never need to open this zipper ... As if I did the waistband would sit too low on me or the top fastenings would be too high for me to comfortably reach (i.e if I kept the waistband in the same place but still opened the zipper) ... So I never open it but on a parent who has a longer torso/is taller than me I would open them up for a better fit. So the moral of the story for you is probably either will worth try open and closed and see which one feels more comfortable for you and go with that.
Hi , i am very petite around 5 ft wear 10/11 years children size . Would you recommend kahu baby for back carry for me. Normally the straps are very long for me Thank you
Hello! Sorry for slow reply I was trying to see if I could get my son who is really similar dimensions to you to try it and see but I haven't managed it! The short answer is I am not entirely sure if it would or wouldnt. The straps are shorter than on alot of other carriers and it is one I have found to work for alot of very petite parents but I can't be 100% certain if it would go snug enough for you or not without trying it. I do hire them out if you'd like to give one a go. Another option is a Connecta with petite straps ... This has the shortest straps for back carrying of any carrier at all (and I have 1 remaining in my webshop). Otherwise you might find it more comfortable to back carry with a half buckle or a woven wrap where there isn't a limiting factor (such as how long the padded part is).... I hope this helps and sorry I can't answer for definite
I have tried this carrier 2-3 times and my baby hated it bc I had the height too high. I knew something wasn’t right but I couldn’t tell what or how to fix it. Your tip on being able to adjust the height so that baby’s head/neck is comfortable was KEY and exactly what I needed, thank you so much!
I am so glad to hear it helped and that you followed your instincts that it didn't feel right. Really hope you and little one are more comfortable now.
In 2025 this is still the best video ever!
Thank you! That is very kind
Thank you, super helpful as I was struggling with the rolled version being too short and didn’t realise I can play with the amount of fabric he sits on to make it work with the unrolled version. Saver😊
So glad it helped! Yes I think this is something that isn't well explained in the manual or Ergos own videos so glad I could help demystify

Is this sage or jade? If you have both can you post a video so we can please see the colour difference when its on? Thanks!
This is Jade. Jade is the soft knit while Sage is the mesh version. You can see my review of the mesh and why I don't like it as much as the soft knit here sheenslings.com/2022/07/08/ergobaby-embrace-soft-air-mesh-review/. The difference is colour is actually not very different and much less impactful compared to the much bigger differences in how these fabrics feel and behave.
@@SheenSlings so helpful thank-you
Respectfully, I don't think cross back shoulder strap is the intended way, it's hard to put it on that way. It does seem safe and secure though.
It is in the manufactures manual and was given as one of the advantages of this carrier when it launched back in 2017 as I remember it clearly being announced and demonstrated at the launch event. So I am not sure why you don't think this way is "the intended way". In terms of it being hard to put on I am sorry to hear you find it hard to do. Years of working with clients has taught me that what someone finds easy someone else finds hard. For a great many clients they find cross straps easier to do than ruck straps while others find ruck straps easier. I do have videos on how to optimise and how to do cross straps on this channel in case that helps at all/helps you find a method that is easier. Best Madeleine

Hi! I am not sure do you have a question? Or something I can help with?
Hi donyou ship tobthe US?
Yes I do.
Just used half an hour trying to get the strap through the buckle - thank you for this video, was so close to just giving up on the whole carrier 😂
While I get your argument about putting the waistband high, it defeats the purpose of the waist (or more accurately hip) band which is to be low enough to transfer weight directly to the hips/pelvis to reduce the pull on the shoulder straps.
That's is where we have to agree to disagree! For most women at least if they place the band on their hips it will not transfer weight well as it won't get good purchase.... instead inorder to load the weight onto their hips the band needs to be placed inorder to stack it onto the hips. This can be different for men due to the difference in hip shape. So generally men get better results wearing the band slightly lower although again too low and it might not get good purchase to stack and load onto the hips.
Is the Dream (cotton) heavier than the Breeze (polyester)?
No, they actually weigh pretty much the same both around 750g. Because all the things that add weight... The padding, the buckles etc are exactly the same and the actual fabric doesn't make a real difference in weight. From weighing a few before answering I think it accounts for 5g difference overall.
@SheenSlings thank you

When my daughter was still 3 we still brought this on holiday for her. 😂 I'm now expecting my 4th baby in about a month and I can't find my original one yet (Do have the wrap though!) So I've just ordered the Breeze version because I know with 4 small kids (Oldest is 7), older 3 neurodivergent and home ed, it's goint to be essential every day. Used to use an Ergo but the straps siders kept breaking and it was so annoying to adjust etc. The Izmi is cheaper AND more sturdy. 🙄
So glad you love it! Thank you for sharing your story ❤️
Can you wear a newborn in this? Like from day 1?
I find it difficult to get a truly supportive fit for a brand new newborn. Unlike a ring sling where you can adjust every part of the fabric width to give full support for little ones back.. this one you can only adjust the overall pouch size and the support at the top... Which means it might well not give enough support across the back for a brand new day 1 newborn. It works best from 6 weeks or so (depending on the little one) when they have a bit more strength themselves and fill the sling a little more. For a day 1 newborn I recommend a ring sling instead because they are far more adjustable and customisable for a truly supportive fit
Hi. I live in India where our summers are extremely harsh. And it’s warm/hot for most of the year. In that case, which ergobaby carrier would you recommend? The breeze or dream? @sheenslings
Going to use this for my cling on senior cat, thank you!
Oh hope they love it! Let me know how it works!
Thank you. Game changer

Thanks for this. How do you find the Omni breeze compares to the Omni 360? (in terms of comfort, functionality, etc?)

I had to come back to this video to say thank you so much! My baby is 5 months old and I can finally carry him properly without back pain thanks to your tips! 😊
Thank you for coming back to let me know. I am so glad to hear it made a difference for you
I have this exact same carrier and color too lol my problem is the other side of the buckle broke and it’s sewn on 😮
Oh no! That is an issue! Did you contact Ergo under their 10 yr promise/guarantee?
This is confusing because isn’t the breeze up until 20kg? So not 2.5years?
So 20kg id what this carrier has been weight tested to. This means that during testing a 20kg weight is placed in the carrier and put on a machine that bounces that carrier and weight 100,000 times very quickly and that the carrier didn't sustain any damage or wear during this process. Weight testing doesn't mean a 20kg 4 year old will physically fit in the carrier... It doesn't mean that their legs will still be adequately supported or that the carrier will reach far enough up their back that it would be safe should they decide to lean back. It's actually quite sneaky that many manufacturers purposefully don't give ages to lead you to believe their product will last for longer than it actually will. My statement of 2.5 years is as a consultant who has seen children of all ages in the carrier and wants to give people a more realistic idea of what is possible. I would say this is also being optimistic, since I made this review I have worked with many families who are already finding this carrier not supportive enough by 2 and are ready to move onto a toddler option. I hope that helps clear up your confusion.
My baby doesn’t like the M position one bit. She straightens her legs and “stands” up in the sling (all of them… I have 7 now 🤦🏻♀️) which makes her head topple backwards. The only time I don’t have to support her head is when she’s asleep. Any tips are very welcome 🙏🏽
So there are other ways to carry baby if they are finding the M position challenging and other ways to add more support for their head if needed. However without seeing you and your little one in person it is hard for me to offer tips ... It sounds like you would really benefit from a bit of in person real time help. Do you have a sling library or consultant local to you? If not I do offer online video consultations so we could go through your carriers in real time and find a solution for you. Best Madeleine

what?!
Sorry, did you have a specific question or something specifically you aren't sure about?
Hi! Would you recommend me a carrier for my 1y10m old baby weight 13kg ? Thanks!
Of course. What age size clothes does your 1y10m wear? 18 months? 2 years? Do you want something quite structured? Lots of padding? Or something more lightweight?
I’ve just spent half an hour trying to master the closed twist 😅
Oh no! Sorry it feels hard! Know that an open twist or any of the other options can totally work too if the closed twist feels hard. It's definitely easier to do with a two way stretchy wrap compared to a one way stretchy wrap
@@SheenSlings I’m just uncoordinated 😂 The open twist is no good on me. The minute I move my arm it pops out of place. I’m sticking with closed 😊
Thank you , been trying to figure out whats the best, you have helped a lot !
Glad to hear this helped!
Is this possible with two half buckle carriers?
Yes! In much the same way... In fact 2 half buckles gives you alot more flexibility to run the straps anyway that works well for you
Hi, what do you think about the brand baby covers from Ergo, Hoppediz, etc. and is there a reason why you prefer this particular cover?
I prefer this one just because it works well with all the 130 different slings and carriers in my library and all that I have ever come across. A lot the brand ones are great but often only work on that brand. I have never tried the Hoppediz one, but I had an Ergo one a couple of years back and it was designed to attach to poppers that are on the Ergo carriers so wouldnt work on other brands, or other carriers types. So if you had a wrap and an ergo and were thinking to also buy a ring sling ... A cover that will work with any of your slings would give you more options.
@@SheenSlings thank you for your answer!
love your videos!
Thank you!! That is lovely to hear
This is great !
Thank you Kirsty!
That's good to hear! I was wondering what I was doing wrong, because I had safety concerns about feeding in a carrier without using my hands. But it seems to be just the nature of the thing.
Well done for listening to your instincts! If it doesn't feel safe then likely it isn't!
I bought the Boba Bliss which is very very similar to this, except it’s not supposed to be used for forward facing. It’s great up until bub is 6-7kg max. After that it just doesn’t feel right (I use a hip seat carrier by mia mily).
Thank you for sharing! This carrier (the close Caboo) doesn't offer outwards either. Both carriers are designed for the 4th trimester and carrying newborns in particular so little ones do tend to grow out of both of these developmentally around 4 months or so and generally this is before outwards facing would be possible or advisable anyway. The main difference between the Caboo and the Bliss is the Bliss is a buckle carrier with clips and the Caboo is a little softer for people looking for something closer to a wrap but without the wrapping. I do have a bliss and intend to make a full review soon!
Excellent teach! We had no trouble using our carrier after watching this video! It's a million times better than the ones on the manufacturer's website.
Thank you! I am so glad it was helpful... I originally made it as a reminder for those who had booked an in person or online session with me as a reminder because as you say the manufacturers videos aren't the easiest to learn from! So glad it was helpful for you too.
I agree 8 months max, my baby girl no longer fits at 7 months
Thank you for sharing! It's so helpful for people to hear because the manufacturer advertises a much wider age range!
Thank you so much - watching this at 4am and it’s a lifesaver
I am so glad it was helpful
Is the 'airglow' part in the name the colour of the fabric?
Yes "Airglow" is simply the colour way
I bought this based upon your review and it’s fantastic. It is so quick to slip on and adjust. Perfect for around the house and even taking bub with me for a swim or shower. I have the boba bliss too, as well as the Mia Mily hip seat and they each have their purpose. But this is the one I use every day, multiple times a day.
Thank you so much for sharing! I am so glad this has been helpful in partnership with your other carriers.
Hi! Thanks for the vid. I just bought this carrier second hand for my 11 month old and I’ve found the fabric makes harsh marks on his inner thighs and I’m worried it’s hurting him. Have you found that at all or have any advice for how to prevent it? Thanks!
Hi! Thank you for your question. I have seen harsh marks occasionally - not only in this carrier but others too, and almost always it is due to the positioning rather than the carrier. If baby is positioned so weight is on their inner thighs rather than on their bottom then the carrier can rub at the edge on their legs due to that pressure from that shallow seat. The trick is to check that they are sitting fully on their bottom. You can do this like this - sheenslings.com/2021/03/03/how-to-perform-a-pelvic-tilt-to-ensure-your-baby-is-sitting-comfortably-in-their-baby-carrier/ and this will relief the pressure and give them much more space around their legs. You still might see "sock mark" type lines but you should definitely not see harsh marks. Hope that helps Madeleine

What would you say the difference is between the dream and 360? The Omni website doesn't explain very well. Thank you
Hi! I actually answer just this in immense detail in my review of the Omni Breeze here (scroll down for the comparison) sheenslings.com/2022/06/08/ergobaby-omni-breeze-review/. Technically that is the Breeze rather than the dream but as the only difference between the breeze and dream are the material everything explained in that blog is the same. Also I do have a full review of the dream on this channel which can hopefully help too. Best! Madeleine
This is fab, thank-you so much! I feel like I've done everything you said and it still feels like my one month old is going to fall out of the sling. If I lean forward, he comes right away from me, and it even feels like he could fall out of the sides. So I have to keep one hand on his back at all times but then I can't get anything done! I love holding him & being close to him at this time and he can't stand to be put down at all. But it doesn't feel safe having him in this carrier. I really want to master it though as I love this carrier so much. I guess I need to figure out why I can never seem to do it up tightly enough!

Please just no. May cause hip problems. Anhock-Spreiz is very important!
Hello! Please could you elaborate your comment. Baby is shown in the "spread squat position" (this is the Anhock-Spreiz for the non German speakers) in all 4 positions. In all 4 positions baby is shown with weight on bottom and legs supported so there is no pressure/weight through the developing pelvis. So I am not sure what you are referring to with this comment. I welcome open debate and also evidence for your statements... All 4 positions achieve a spread squat and there is quite alot of evidence on this being a safe and beneficial position... Starting with Dr Fettweis in the 70s right upto a few years ago where a study looked at muscular engagement. Hope this helps for anyone feeling confused or alarmed by this comment
