The Shady Things You Felt Happening In The Job Search Are True
มุมมอง 468 หลายเดือนก่อน
Your fears are justified; it's not just you! These things are happening everyday throughout the job search process. Companies: - Lowball workers - Have ageism biases on both ends of the spectrum - Don't necessarily give the role to the best, most qualified person for the job - It's who you know, not what you know - Ghost candidates - Post fake jobs - Use fake positive reviews to attract candidates

If AI plus an average employee equals a great employee, why would I hire a great employee who is more expensive? If I have four salespeople who spend 75 percent of their time selling and 25 percent doing paperwork and I can get AI to do the paperwork, why shouldn't I fire the worst salesperson and let the other three spend all of their time selling? I think AI will take over some jobs. I don't think it will be fast. I think it will be by attrition. As people leave they simply won't be replaced. Anyway, thanks for the thought provoking video. I am not a bot. At least not yet.

Employers are playing games with the unemployed looking for work. It’s horrible they post jobs take it down than repost over and over and have several different titles but same detailed novel job description. Want lots of college and experience but pay high school wages.

I’ve learned that short of having the interviewer call HR on the spot to hire you (happend early in my career) that any positive signs from the interviewer do not guarantee an offer. I’ve been called experienced, qualified, or a strong candidate during interviews. I never got the offer. If there’s more than two people deciding on you, there’s usually one skeptic. If they need to meet the ten person interviewed requirement, but already offered to an internal employee, you’ve wasted my time. If they realize you’re 50+ in person, but were fooled by your shortened resume experience, forget a chance.

Sir i am a Hvac design engineers fresher, 1 confusion which i have was - while answering about my big career gap of 4 yrs due to family reasons in my field of AEC construction as engineer what should i say to not sound unprofessional in any way ? The hard skills which i learnt in 2019 internship period along with software's skills are still relevant but if the hiring manager asked what more have you learnt then what is the best answer ? Can i say i have watched many useful lectures on TH-cam & attended webinars along with reading articles & books about my field, various sales, psychology books also..

They're trying to discourage unionizing. Contacted workers will be exempt from this bill. With so many people struggling people will have to choose between unionizing to get more rights or money with overtime. And we won't accrue as much vacation.

Thanks for this. I had an interview this week on Wednesday and I have prepared for at least a week. I defended myself well but, I am a person who is not optimistic about jobs because I have been disappointed. But after the interview one of the panel members asked me of my availability, I said I was ready and he said let's say they offer you the position how long it will take you to be on board, I told a couple of weeks. then the Director of the organization told me : WE HOPE to wrap up the interview process today and our recommendations, and it will take 3 weeks from checking the references, degrees, and other stuff. I was asked if I had questions and was able to ask fundamental questions from research from the organization. The Director answered them and I thanked all of them. I am still waiting.

I had the exact same experience. They actually did not get back to me by email at all but I found out I was not selected as I had to go to the job posting site itself which showed the job tracker and the hiring process. I asked the talent acquisitioner for some feedback and a couple other questions and he replied by saying they closed the role and that the reasoning was classified. He also said that there will be another role uploaded, in which he will connect me with it based on the progress I have made in the hiring process of the first position, which was a math and reading assessment and a pre-recorded interview, which led me to be invited to a live interview with the hiring manager. Maybe check other sources and sites linked to the position you applied as there could have been a circumstance where they don't reach back to you by mail or in any other common direct way of communciation.

Companies complain about a lack of workers, but they're talking about low-skilled or minimum wage positions. Experienced applicants with college degrees and relevant vitae are being turned away or hired at severely depressed wages. People over 55 with multiple degrees, including MBAs and accountants, have very few opportunities. America is wasting more talent than some countries have. This state of affairs exists because government has enabled and protected oligopolies that lax enforcement of the anti-trust and merger laws and sweetheart regulations for multi-national corporations. The American worker has taken it on the chin from both political parties.

If the interviewer says "Thank you so much, it was great talking to you. I look forward to talking with you again", would you say that's a positive sign? 🙏 Also, what does it mean when the interviewer doesn't end the interview and practically waits for you to end it?? The interviewer literally refused to end it. I interviewed the other day and I was waiting for her to end it and so, I just kept asking questions lol! She was very nice and answered all of my questions fully.

Correct insight and perspective for post pandemic. Several companies were now very skeptical in hiring candidates based on the job description. Lucky enough if you’re application was shortlisted. Experiences and trainings were not guaranteed as a successful candidate. They will dig even more for the qualifications based on the position role.

I sent a follow up email and I’m still waiting to know what is what. Is this a bad sign of not being a candidate? Or a strong possibility?

This vid had some really good advice. For me interviewing is a two way street ! Yes the company wants to see if I can do the job but I want to see if I really want to work for the company. A good first impression goes both ways. I went on an interview a few months ago and met with the hiring manager and the department head of a local college. The hiring manager was awesome but the department head was arrogant and clueless. Anyway after the interview, I realized I did not want to work for this person. The following morning I sent an email to both stating I no longer was interested in advancing through the process. The fit was not a good one. They both replied stating they were surprised and I was a great candidate, blah blah blah. Truth is they wanted a yes man and thats not me. One of the best decisions of my life! I since have been hired at another college. Pay and benefits significantly higher than the college that I rejected. Great boss and co workers. Moral of the story....be humble, be respectful but know your worth!!!

Thank you for putting out something like this. I have encountered this blatantly. No other reason. I do have a job now in security of which I am thankful, but I can do so much more! I am 65, and have years of all kind of software experience from the technical side, manufacturing, machining and dabrication, and training others to do too. I have done estimating., manufacturing engineering, purchasing, and scheduling plus a host of other things. Yet I cannot seem to break back into it. I am wenetgetoc, big and muscular, yet…No dice. Not a doddering old man. I am 65 and plan on working another 20 years easy.
