What size and grade carb studs is that? Looking to use the heads or the carb lift plate
I'd have to look it up but it's the same bolt holes that go into the intake. I'm using a Super Victor EFI intake
Just find this channel today. Thanks for the great info on doing the 9.5 deck swap.
Thanks, I moved to FL and have a ton of content to do. Hope to get rolling again with the channel but as owner of Newrad Solutions it took off so harder to get in the garage for my own stuff lol
@MrStangdawg when life slowes down update us
Got that brake bleed video uploaded?
Beautiful setup. Very detailed install video thanks for showing the sn95s some love brotha! 💯
any leaks?
Never. It's a super easy install and gasket the same as an oil filter gasket
Time stamp 4:24... I have a 94 convertible and mines doesn't come with that solenoid and I have a mini torque starter. My question is where do I mount the jump wire?
I have this shifter kit installed. park , reverse, neutral and OD work fine (it automatically shifts thru all the gears fine so I don’t think the transmission is hurt) . But for some reason I can’t manually shift gears (1,2,3) it just stays in OD. It used to work fine
Does it still ratchet?
@@MrStangdawgyes
@@CaMBeRKiD45 Does the cable still move the transmission lever on the side of the transmission? Could be out of adjustment and out of range.
Great video! Helped a ton with my install in my 88. Do have a few questions… 1) where would I tap for my cruise control? I tried the ground coming from the switches but it’s constantly on. 2) there are 2 wires listed for the low oil sensor, what one would be the correct one to use for the extra warning? Thanks for the help!
Let me research these as nobody has asked before. Cruise control is removed on my car but I still have the pieces can did out and look at the diagrams. Send email to info@newradsolutions.com so I can reply via email.
so glad i found this product. my fox is an ultra low mile survivor but needs modernizing. i’d have hated to harm a virgin harness
They are really good, but CABT has been doing this (And WAY more) for years... So unfortunately this truck won't be in any magazines... Since this is old stuff now days. CABT even makes 2017+ excursions by welding a Alumaduty cab to a expedition of the same/newer year! These old trucks fit together almost like Lego, those new ones... Crazy curbed body lines everywhere .. they even have the rear digital HEAT/AC Working with the superduty dash, now that's some SERIOUS electrical work... Not connecting to run knobs, like digital displays and stuff... Crazy ..
Are you still using this PCM? How do you like it?
It's in the car but just finished moving to FL so working to get car done over next couple months. I'll do install and tune video just getting caught up :)
Great vid! About to start working on my 302 H/C/I build. Do you think the XE270 would be more lopey or similar to the XE264?
If I had my old build I'd have gone with the 270
What's the point just to put the same engine in the car that fit. Lol
header clearance. With a 351W having aftermarket k-member makes life SOOOOO much easier. If I ever pull the motor I'll likely switch it to a MM k-member.
They Excursion was not built in 2006 as you stated in the video. The last year was 2005.
Does anyone know what connector he is holding at 5:41 in the video ie what is it for and where does it go?
Out of curiosity, what did you do with the air bag light circuit? Typically if you remove the bulb, the SRS module starts beeping; did that not happen here?
No issues.
Had turning signals now I don't went back checked wires diagram still nothing? Any help would be appreciated thank you
Anyone around Toronto ont that knows this system well?
Did you have to do anything different in the wiring since you have a Terminator X installed already? Any specific changes so all gauges work with Term X and DD dash?
Does not require any changes. If you want to use the same senders as the TermX you can get the DD Holley BIM box and in integrates the TermX readings to the dash. The cluster and the terminator are completely independent.
What is the purpuse of the aod spacer?
the plate is what aligns the starter to the flywheel.
@@MrStangdawg thanks I guess I'll buy, I'm a Chevy guy so there is so many special little parts for the aod
@@limitlessautomedia9794 it's actually not that bad. I recommend getting a new TV cable from performance automatic as you can't get the new from Ford anymore unfortunately. The key to the AOD is setting up the TV cable and if you run it hard, changing the fluid and filter more frequently.
Great video
Awesome videos! How did you make out with hood clearance with that intake? Think about doing that same setup. Thanks!
Hood clearance was spot on which makes sense since the hood was intended for 351W in a fox chassis. I'm playing catch-up as in middle of a 1500 mile move.
Why not show speed sensor /gps?
Good stuff. Thank you.
All I run is aje k members and you best believe I jack up right in the middle like I have before on a stock one.
Is that a 134-A compressor or?
This is OEM compressor (actually original to car) that I swapped the manifold connectors on top and rebuilt it like 8 years ago.
Is this the 4.6?
351W with AOD (Lentech Strip Terminator)
I didn't get any hardware with my member or race brace. I got 4 bolts that don't fit anything and also 2 big washers and 2 bushes that don't go anywhere. No check sheet to work out what's for what.
I gave up on my race brace. Could not get them to line up.
no need to use pipe dope or tape on the fitting?
I have a question.is 2500.00 good price to rebuild a 2.3 motor 86: fox body
are they also doing assembly? Machine work depends on what is being done but 500-$1k based on what they are doing. That's labor/machine work. Then add the cost of parts. In today's market $2500 is not way off the mark but seems tad high for a 2.3L.
how did you connect the reverse wire?
The slider piece is what gives you the gears. As you move the shifter it moves the little LED light for the appropriate gear
@@MrStangdawg okay I am fully aware that the LED light indicates to me what gear I am in that was not my question. What I am trying to do is connect the reverse wire on a new aftermarket head unit for a back up camera
Very useful video, I did the exact install on my 88 Coupe following the video instructions.
I have the same 89 car shop manual as you do and nope no torque spec given. I also got the electrical & vacuum trouble-shooting manual. I bought both of them when I ordered the car in October of 1988 when I was 38 years old and still have it. It's a keeper.
Yup. I like to get that kind of detail and there are quite of few items in the manual that doesn't have a spec you'll find.
I'm having a problem seating my lentech terminator, I get one click. I got PTC to spec converter to application. What spline count is your imput shaft?
I’d never thought it was a grommet till I pressure washed it
I'm installing a Lentech Terminator Aod in a 351 Svo 393ci sn95. What fluid did Lentech call for type f?
I'm running AMSOIL and Chris said perfectly fine to run it. Strongly advise (as will Chris) to install a trans cooler and temp gauge. If you go to the strip count the passes and more frequent changes really helps with the life of the trans.
I’m running a one wire alternator so the resistor wouldn’t be needed? It is ran straight to the battery. I wouldn’t think it matters.
correct resistor only needed for 2G (87-93) or 3G alternator. 1G alternator (79-86) will not need the resistor unless it's been upgraded
Hello guys are you able to reflash the pcm with different calibrations at home? Im going from a 91 cobra to 87 non HO 302.
Yup you should have your dongle and the software you can do it yourself
Is that the Summit Racing SUM-700602 motor block plate?
It's an old AOD plate from my car I had in the parts bin.
Cool. I just bought a Summit Racing SUM-700602 motor block plate for my 393W Stroker/AOD combo and it looks identical @@MrStangdawg
I am looking to swap in a 351W .408 stroker motor into a 67 Mustang Gt with a built C-6 that is currently in there. Kinda of scared to do it, but hey, It has a built 460 in there now so how bad can it be? lol
Nothing like the sound of a push rod V8 🤟
I put thread sealer and shoved it in ._.
The harness diagram shown and mentioned at 21:00, you say “you can pull it up on your phone, it’s right on the website” which website are we referring to? Can’t seem to find the diagram on Anderson ford or newradsolutions
“Step by step” includes nothing about the fuel gauge
The fuel wire connects directly to the fuel input of the control box. You can email info@newradsolutions.com if you need assistance. It's pin 1 (or R1) of the Right/Passenger connecter on 79-86 Foxbodies. It can be seen at 6:38 in the video.
Just happened to run into this vid. Been out of hotrods for 25 years and this made me rcall highschool shop class, where i owened a 79 5.0 fox body mustang. I was more of a chevy guy i guess i knew more about them anyway you proably knew i didnt i thought it would be like swapping . chevy 305 with 350---wrong- in the late 80s the aftermarket was not what it became --o yes the oil pan wouldnt fit 351 wind in fox body, my old shop teacher knew his business after days looking thru the massive blue engine parts mountain he found it the only it around for states i think it was a 1970s ford 4x4 oil pan that would fit. SORRY 4 LONG MESSAGE. The other i wanted a comp i think brand cam a 280 duration. The old x drag racer who owened the shop told me for street racing it might be too much for idle,, So he talked me into a new cam that had just came out a 270 duration but you had too run a 302 firing order on the 351 windsor it ran great .however years later while at work my dad who dont know cars sold it. Dad told me the guy keeped telling the person with him that the firing order was wrong. Tried too call guy but he thought he had got away with a deal. bet he never figured that out.
There are actually companies that convert Excursion’s to make them newer or look newer like those Excursion Conversion’s in Miami, Florida or Custom Auto’s By Tim in Guthrie, Oklahoma and if you want to customize the Excursion to your liking, these guys can customize it to your liking
I'm not familiar with the company in Miami. Having said that, I'm sure they do a great job. I've seen several of the builds from Oklahoma and they look great! This guy assumes that there are no King Ranch Excursions out there and I would assume there are.
@@jamesspalten5977 I am not assuming there aren't out there. The build quality and wiring on this one is top notch. As owner of Newrad Solutions and doing a lot of gauge installs I get to see a lot of vehicles and their wiring. Jeff, the guy who wired this excursion is as detailed as they come. Sometimes it's the stuff you don't see that matters. The paint on this vehicle is also mirror finish.
Lemme get that oe shifter knob
Funny thing is I'm going swap this shifter out to use my OEM AOD shifter. Doing it because I'm setting up the PRNDL to display to my Dakota Digital dash :)
Big thanks! I just got my first sandwich adapter and wanted to have some idea of what it would look like and what I would need to consider for it.
Stupid RCI's, buddy of mine bought a set made for his car they ended up hanging down and were 3/4" from the ground. For as long as he made headers he sure forgot what he was doing. My buddy had a 1 3/4" set of 302 headers that came apart at the tubes, should have bought them and tried to make them work. AOD? LOL I'm doing a 6R80 pray for me.
Yes my advice and if I ever take these out for a 427 I'm doing custom headers to get better fit. The fitment for me along the side of the AOD with the shift cable is horrendous. Had to really beat them into shape to clear. Good luck on the 6R80 lot more videos out there now than there was even just a couple years ago.
I think those ones that came apart were Hookers, man they were great shoudl have bought them and made them work lol... @@MrStangdawg
Coca Cola also works. Thanks for the video!!
Good to know!
The Cobra/SVO lens had different color taped stripes. Those lenses appear to be LX lenses.
