Ultramarine Dreadnought Slaying Aliens - Diorama Building From Scratch
I always thoought dreadnoughts are the best characters in Warhammer 40k, and H. R. Giger's xenomorphs are the best sci-fi monsters (also they were the inspiration for tyranids) so I made this mash-up diorama about a dreadnought is rampaging in the alien hive.
In this crafting video I briefly show you my process of building a diorama, with 3d modeling, 3d printing, and crafting the terrain from hobby store materials, and even diy modeling clay.
I also tried to do my best to paint the miniatures in an acceptable way!

Harry Potter vs. the Hungarian Horntail | Scratch Building a Triwizard Tournament Diorama
มุมมอง 5133 หลายเดือนก่อน
This time I have built a Harry Potter diorama, a scene from the Triwizard Tournament to be specific, when Harry was almost burnt to death by the hungarian horntail dragon. As usual, I used different techniques, like 3D modeling and 3D printing the miniatures, also carved the stone texture into plaster, and made a fire breathing effect. The miniatures are in 1:87 (H0) scale. Follow me on Instagr...

Lizardfolk vs. the Necromancer - Diorama Build
มุมมอง 4973 ปีที่แล้ว
I made a quasi D&D themed diorama with lizardfolk and a necromancer. My aim was to make an idillic forest terrain with a creek, to contrast the suspense of the situation. The miniatures were 3D sculpted in Blender, and printed on Elegoo Mars pro. The terrain was crafted using XPS foam, DIY modeling compound, plaster, sand, and some junk of the nature. I also made a wire tree, and used my DIY st...
I Made a Futurama Sewer Diorama with Bender

I'm a big fan of Futurama for the last 2 decades, and Bender is an incredible character. "Bite my shiny metal ass" is his famous saying but it had some variations throughout the series, for example he said this with red-hot, colossal, or frozen, so I thought I could make a rusty one. I've never tried something that large, but one thing I tend to do on smaller snow dioramas is to just let the kitchen blender make short work of the snow terrain paper. Got a dedicated used one off eBay (closed version, since I don't want to spread that crap everywhere). 😁 For bonus points, you can also run dollar store sponges through that, dye that with diluted paint and after drying, be happy about your custom shrub/tree material.
Sorry I'm not sure I'm getting you. So you make the snow effect from paper? Like the diy modeling compound, and paint that white?
@@Nosculptor No, I essentially turn the paper back into flocks that can be used as modeling paste ingredients, but the duration of the blender allows me to control the size of the pieces.
@@Iskelderon Ahh, okay!
Just found your channel and binged a few videos! I definitely prefer your voice over as well as your accent. Human voices are much better to listen to and your accent is very enjoyable to me. Plus your sense of humor in your other videos comes through so well and I find myself smiling and giggling while watching.
Thank you so much for the feedback! Maybe in the next video there will be only relaxing music and crafting. :D I'm not sure... But I'm very glad you enjoy my videos!
Great video and diorama. It's very impressive that you do all this from scratch with modelling and 3d printing the minis (and some other parts of the diorama). I would include more of the process of the modelling like where do you find references or what you do with those, how you are modelling but that's maybe just me, seems like you are more interested in the physical part of the process. The wall looks cool too! I would be curious what the dreadnought would do with an alien queen, I hope he would throw her out the airlock! I liked the sarcastic 3rd person view AI voice on the left audio channel too, makes the video more unique! Keep it up!
Hey Tekiccs, Thanks again for your support! I would gladly include more 3d modeling and sculpting, but that's the part where usually the retention graph drops. So I keep it short. I'm glad you liked the 3rd person narration too! My wife has already offered to narrate the next episode!
Really awesome build and video. Maybe use a different AI voice?
Matilda or nothing! Just kidding. I don't think I will use AI voices in the near future again. Thank you!
Really cool. 👍
Thank you!
Hey Everyone, please let me know what is your opinion about the AI voice-over! Is it very distracting, or is it acceptable? Is it better or worse than my own narration in my other videos? Or should I just ditch narration, and go with music alone? Wouldn't that be a bit boring? Also, sorry for the mono narration.
Voice in one ear is annoying, and the voice gives the video cheap vibe. Other than that great work, diorama looks awesome.
Thank you! And thanks for the feedback!
That AI voice is really annoying. Also is it meant to be only on the left channel?
I most likely won't use AI voice-over again, if that means something for you. :D Also, I was silly enough to not check the channels in the downloaded audio.
I like the models/diorama but the AI voice is too much and needs to go. Just put on some good music and show your work as is.
Thank you! I'm considering that option too! :)
This is awesome! Very inspiring to see what can be done with miniatures
Thank you!

Great build, and great idea, thanks very much for sharing! I especially liked the Giger-like sculpted background, that was so well done. Please note that the voice-over is coming mainly from the left channel, so if one is using earphones, it is very tiring to listen to. Also, even though I respect your choice to use the artificial voice over, personnaly, I find it overall very distracting and unpleasant, making the whole experience difficult to watch. Even the use of third person "he did this or that" is creating more "distance" between the viewer and what is being shown. Also note that an AI voice totally ruins your humorous comments (which I quite like otherwise). This is a shame, as you do such good work. Anyway, just my thoughts, I hope you don't mind this kind or critisism 🙂- which has nothing to do with your actual work (which is amazing), just with the choice of sound/voice. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write me a useful feedback! I'm glad you liked the diorama! I made the noob mistake of not cheking the downloaded voice-over, if it is stereo. I need to position my speakers wider, then at least I will hear if something is mono. :D Thanks for letting me know about the problem. I chose to use AI voice-over, because 1. I have ugly accent (you can check that in my earlier videos) 2. recording the voice-over is the hardest part for me. I'm bathing in terror sweat by the time I finish! :D I hate to hear my own voice. 3. Since my channel is so small, I don't have the budget to pay for a human narrator, although I would find that a much better solution both ethically and professionally. I'm aware of the distancing effect of third person narration, but I wanted to try this documentary style, with the satirical twist. I will see how it performs. Once again, thank you for your comment! I really appreciate it!
@@Nosculptor thanks very much for your reply, and yes, I fully understand the accent issue, I would have the exact same problem! 🙂🙂. But to be honest, I watched some of your older videos and your accent & voice are just fine, clear and precise, nothing wrong with that. And in my own opinion, much better than the AI voice. The only "issue" I noticed in some of your older videos, is that sometimes the music covers the narration too much (it is too loud), but this is a matter of adjusting the volumes properly and with experience I am sure this will be improved. But you should not think that all narrators have to have a perfect English or American accent, and there is no expectation that the "proper" narrator should be a native English speaker. As long as one speaks correctly and clearly, a "non-native" English accent is a non-issue. There are many TH-camrs out there who speak much worse English than you and they have very successful channels. Not to mention many native English speakers who are very hard to understand because of their very "heavy" - even if native - Engish accent, or because they do not speak clearly. So maybe you worry too much about your accent. 🙂. But like I said, it's your channel, so the choice is yours, your content is enough to keep me as a subscriber. At least AI voices allow for clarity in narration, even if their voices are a bit weird sounding. Keep up the good work, your channel deserves many more subscribers!
Thank you! It's good to hear that my accent haven't scared you away! :D I'll se which direction I want to go with this. Cheers!
Awesome work. It is impossible for me not to like those alien infested 'some sort of secreted resin' walls!
Thank you! I'm so glad you like it! :)

Battle of Fud?
Sorry, I don't get "fud" in this context.
GAR Vs Empire
how can we do this with a 3D sculpted texture?
Maybe there is a better way, but I would sculpt the texture on a plane, and use the simple deform, bend modifier to make it a tube. Then the two contacting edge loops have to be merged or bridged, and the ends of the tube to be filled. And probably some touch up of the texture is needed at the seam. Or you can just sculpt on a cylinder. :)
@@Nosculptor i will try this and let you know!
@@Nosculptor btw, so, there is no chance to make a cilinder just like you did but instead of applying a 2D texture, i apply a 3D plane?
@@joygamesinteractive You can try to use the sculpt as a depth map for displacement. I don't know why I haven't think of this when I first replied. :)
@@Nosculptor hi! i tried 2 things: sculpted on a plane in Zbrush, exported the displacement map, i didnt liked it be cause of the nature of using a texture is not very accurate IF i need it to be acurate So instead i exported the plane as an OBJ (from zbrush), imported in blender and aplied modifier "simple deform" and chose BEND, i did what this guy did: th-cam.com/video/aLg3Uuq---M/w-d-xo.html My idea is to make double rolls, matched with gears dents in each extreme of the cilinders, and instead of making 1 sided texture, making 2 sided! i will even try with miniatures

I too randomly transform into Studson every time I think about Jurassic Park hahaha, this was fantastic! Those trees are absolutely beautiful, all that work you did on them really paid off! The dino looks great too, that texture is fantastic, I am always so impressed by your 3D sculpts. So good!
