Hi Avery. New supporter here. Thanks for sharing !😊
"i guess i lied....i guess i do use this" had me laaaaughing. I am also hoping to get a new editing software at the end of the year when I get a new computer and I am so nervous about learning how to do things on it......fingers crossed!!

I’m sorry you’re sick and not feeling the best mentally. That does make it hard to care about budgeting. The video sounded great though, and I always love your monthly budgeting videos ❤
I really appreciate you and your videos! The sound quality was spot on for me. I hope it was a good experience for you as well with the editing and what not. Living in uncertainty is such a draining challenge. I’m glad you’re showing up despite the way you feel. Sending virtual hugs and high hopes for a lighter load in the near future!
Aww girl. 😥Sending you the biggest hug. I always appreciate your realness. Hope you feel better physically and mentally very soon. 💜

Wow 3 years I’ve been watching you 🤩 awesome!! That went by quick! So sorry you’ve been feeling down and like chaos lately. Do you ever think your home space could be contributing to how you feel? Hey Avery...new subbie, looking forward to watching your content.
I’m so glad you like your job! I’m sorry about all of the medical expenses. I know that has to be so stressful 😩 I kind of want to try TH-cam premium. Do you think it’s worth it?
@@KatieoftheHouse I’m really liking TH-cam premium, I believe the single plan is a little cheaper as well (I’m currently doing the family plan)!
I don't like to work. It doesn't matter the position or if I'm earning more or the same lol. My favorite job to this day was working at a tea store, making tea drinks all day🤎. But it wouldn't do lol. Figuring out what to do for a living is definitely a tough call
Very smart not to go into debt to take a vacation!
Yes, pets can be expensive but sooo worth it.
For sure!
I absolutely hear you on the money not feeling real thing. I LOVE YNAB but sometimes I wonder if I need to do cash for certain things (like groceries...and eating out...) because I just swipe and then I WAM and yeah 😮💨
I have been thinking about doing cash spending on my problem categories like food, especially since a lot of restaurants near me have been adding the 3% fees on using cards. Really hoping I reel it in this month lol
Kudos on hitting $10K in the emergency fund! It’s a well thought out, well-balanced budget. I was admiring your overall balances on the left just as you remarked that you were pretty content with your finances… as well, you should be! I think you’re doing great. Plus, you are so close to 1000 subscribers. If you’re not there by the end of the year, you certainly should get there with the January rush. I really enjoyed your channel and look forward to the next video.
Thank you Nanette :) I appreciate the encouragement! It's so easy to focus on what's not going well and miss everything you're doing great on. and hopefully I can reach 1000 soon 🤞 youtube has helped me so much with my financial journey 💚
Girl I feel like you are speaking to me when you are telling me how you’re feeling… I’m like yes me too for all of it 😂 There is just never enough time in the day, and I’m always asking myself why does it feel like this now? I think someone is secretly speeding up time 🤭 Looking forward to the Maine trip review. How are you feeling about your surgery? Are you liking the results? The end of the year is always bam, bam, bam with money 🤦♀️ with 3 kids the holiday events always get us. Plus everything the schools want you to contribute for the classroom parties 🤣 whoever thought of making these holidays so close together, didn’t think it through. Can’t wait for the next one!!
I am feeling good after my surgery, I do like the results overall. It was a good decision for me I think. I agree, I think someone IS speeding up time because there's just no way this is the same 24 hours we all had 10 years ago 😂 good luck with all the holiday spending, it's definitely a grind!
@@AverysMoneyMoves I’m so glad to hear that!! If it goes this fast now, I can’t imagine how time will feel in the next 10 years 😂 ❤️
I also hate the YNAB mobile app. It’s literally only good for categorizing transactions if you have it synced with your cards/ bank. Moving money around is a literal nightmare!
yes!! I hope they make it more functional soon
Omg so many events for us too! Honestly I try to save a lot more from Jan-May because summer through December is spendy! Like in the summer we usually go on a week long vacation & smaller weekend trips, the zoo etc. We have a huge family between mine and my husbands siblings, nibbling and parents. And most of the birthdays are June-Dec with a high concentration Aug-Nov. Plus people are having babies, weddings etc and I have to participate in those villages if I want people to come to my kids birthday party. The money guys “messy middle” talk is hitting me hard this year.
the summer through end of the year events are crazy 🫥 there is always something to go to every weekend, it gets exhausting lol. and so true on having to attend things to keep up with the village, the messy middle is real 😅
I love your channel Avery! Keep being you! The rants are valid! I watch your channel and play in the car on the way to work like a podcast! You make me smile and laugh out loud daily!😂❤
Thank you Tracy :) I am really glad you enjoy the videos, even when I'm complaining 😅
I’d definitely like another video with an explanation of the pension. At 1% annual returns, the pension benefits option would have to be much better. It has me curious 🤨 🧐
it can definitely be hard to explain, I'll start working on a more in depth video!
My situation is a little different because I have kiddos but yeah, I had to just bite the damn bullet. Even my therapist was like "please just raise your food budget, prices are probably not going down any time soon" so I did 🫠 Still kills me.
I am stubborn and still do not want to change it even with months of spending contradicting my ideal budget so I feel you 🫠
Definitely would love to hear more about the pension system. Can’t believe someone stole your calzone!! 💕
I'll start working on a more in depth video! and right?? 😩
I'm sorry but someone taking the calzone made me LAUGH. Totally been there after a long night out with ordering food and falling asleep 🤣
I definitely got a good laugh out of it just wish I hadn't paid $20 for that laugh 😂
I like all your video ideas! Even though I don’t have a pension, my parents both do and I’d love to understand that more to help them plan.
thank you, I feel like I have a lot of ideas but struggle with follow through 😅 I'll definitely start working on a pension video soon
Great video! Im over in my variable spending and need to stop going out to eat for a week 🙄. I’ve been overspending consistently in dining out and using money from my vacation fund to cover. I need to also figure out a way to stop! I don’t want to increase my budget because I’ll just spend it all and likely overspend still. It’s tough! 😅
its so tough, I feel you on not wanting to increase the budget because it just means you'll overspend even more, its a constant struggle!
Is your pension payout a fixed amount until death or is it giving you want you put in slowly? If it is giving you what you put in, the 1% return is horrible.
it's a lifetime monthly benefit, so the best bang for your buck is definitely taking a monthly benefit as it will pay out even as the money from your contributions runs out often within 1-3 years of retirement. I need to put together a video going more in depth!
The way they count part time work is amazing! Where I was they didn't start until you were a a permanent employee, and they don't give those out until you work through several contracts.
that sucks!! so interesting to see how other systems do it. I did not think much of the part time work at the time but I'm glad I did it now
I have the same couch 😂. I'm way over on my eating out budget.
@@bpfd 😂😂 I’ve been ready for a new one!
Loving the video style!! I would definitely be interested in how your income has changed over the years!! 😊 Food is a hard one!! Maybe compare you average spent to what you’re budgeting and adjust it for the time being. ❤
I checked my previous monthly food spending and these past three months have been ROUGH 💀 really hoping I reel it in for October onwards lol. and I will start working on a video about my income over the years, thanks Angel :)
I watched this video the other day but on my TV and I just realized that I didn't comment. I love the new camera, the picture is super crisp. I have no doubt that you can hit your savings goal by the end of the year, you are always so dedicated, it's super motivating! I can't wait to see what else you film with this camera 😊
@@TheGoodMidlifeCrisis thank you Becky, appreciate the kind words! :)
Oh my gosh, your doggie!! ❤ Great job on the EF savings! I feel you that it just feels like we should save more with inflation and how expensive everything had become 😫
Thanks Katie! And right It’s hard out here 🥲 I just checked in on my food spending this month and can’t believe how much I’ve spent!
I have the same feelings about sinking fund versus emergency fund. We’re building up our EF so I’m not contributing to house EF or car repairs. If anything goes horribly wrong with the house or car we will pull money from the EF but if it’s just standard stuff like changing filters and oil changes we can manage that as it comes up. I hope to eventually have an EF for income replacement, the house and car replacement but I literally can’t focus on that many things at once. I like focusing on one thing and watching the savings grow faster
@@ScrunchyPersonalFinance completely agree on not being able to focus on a ton of savings goals at once, when I do that it feels like I’m getting nowhere with anything 😩 it’s been so nice to pull back and go hard at 1-2 goals Also, can’t wait for you to post!! 🌸 love the name and design
@@AverysMoneyMoves thanks! I can never seem to find a quiet place to record and I tried doing the face over screen recording and it crashed my computer lol I guess just screen recording w audio will have to.
@@ScrunchyPersonalFinance figuring out the mechanics with audio and visual is deffffinitely the hardest part I struggle with it every single video so I feel you 🥲
Working on emergency fund goal of 10k by December. So far saved 9k. Love the updates and Cee Cee is adorable ❤
@@tracymiller9390 that’s awesome Tracy, you are so close! 🙌
I think it's great you are focusing on the emergency fund goal as priority. A good way to go about it as it give you momentum and, like you said, its all your money in the end. I personally have been at the stage where I'm working on boosting up my house emergency fund (basically). That's been going well, and I decided now I'm going to do 50/50 now with savings money to continue to go into my house reserves, and the other half to go into what I'm call "future fund". This is something like, what if I want to do some kind of adventure? what if I end up switching jobs and I choose one that pays less? What if I want to buy a travel trailer and do alternative living adventure? Its very uncertain, but I figure I want to get a fund to have flexibility. Emergency fund money isn't for that, isn't for spending, you know? I am still investing too just not as much as I was when THAT was my super highest priority. You asked about current goals , so thats my odd answer, haha ! I'm also going on a short trip to visit my cousin in Portland, OR in a couple weeks so I'll be spending some money on that and then I'll want to replenish my travel fund. :)
@@TheahLil oh I love the idea of a future fund. Gives you a lot of freedom and flexibility to go along with whatever opportunity arises. I’ve thought about doing something similar but I wasn’t sure when I could start saving for it…in the future I guess 😂 Have fun in Portland! Should be a good time 😊
@@AverysMoneyMoves I hear you. I took a loooong time before I'm thinking this way and at this stage. I hit my version of a "coast fire" number and that's helped me be able to make this shift to dreaming for my now more. I am about 40 years old .Do you know about coast fi? forgive me if I'm repeating myself.
@@TheahLil that’s awesome coast fire has allowed you to expand your dreams. I have heard of coast fi but have not looked into how to determine what that number would be for myself or how to determine it! I need to do some research
@@AverysMoneyMoves I recommend looking at it as its something kind of in the middle of the different ideas. I recommend you look up the Fioneers as they are really coming up with a lot of the ideas of "slow fi" aka designing the live we love along the whole journey. Coast fi is one of the ideas in there that goes well with things. They have a youtube channel and website. I use the wallet burst coast fi calculator as a tool for mine too . Look into it if you want, and I'd be happy to chat about it if ever youd be interested in that idea.
Currently working on getting a real month ahead on YNAB and making sure my sinking funds are nice and padded 💲
@@YazWhyNY definitely good goals to have! Hope they’re going well 💰
Loving the updates!! And the channel name change!! Once you finish the emergency fund, you’ll free up that cash to put towards sinking funds so hopefully it doesn’t feel too tight. You’ll just be redirecting the funds. 😊
@@angeljuarez93 that’s a good point about the sinking funds. Thanks Angel hope you’re having a good month so far 😊
@@AverysMoneyMoves of course you’re so welcome. Yes so far holding on strong for our monthly goals ☺️ it does seem less overwhelming when only having to focus on one goal at a time. Can’t wait for some more updates!
Here's hoping for a less spendy September (for both of us!) 🎉
For real 🙏🤞😂
You're not alone. August has been spendy for us too! You're making great progress on your E-Fund and Travel (cruise) funds!
Thank you! Hope September is going better 🤞
