Your point at the beginning is so good! Another thing that gets me about the idea of low spend or no spend months is sometimes it’s so focused on the category but not enough on the absolute amount of spending which is all that really matters if u r trying to increase your net worth or something

I live alone in Florida and spend an average of 500 a month on groceries, so no judgment here! I’m willing to spend a little more to buy organic and ensure that I’m making healthy choices. I try to avoid bags and boxes to reduce the amount of processed food I eat. In some cases that saves money, and in some cases it cost a little more. Saving money on groceries comes with a price… It often means more labor in the kitchen as well as planning out meals and such. Totally doable if you have the time and energy. It’s all about choices. Great job living on about half of your income! I enjoy your videos!

Ugh, yes food spending is getting out of hand for us, too! Everything is definitely more expensive now.
I’m glad you had miles to help you out! I want to learn more about travel hacking so we can utilize those benefits in the future 😊

In January I tried some new tricks for targets. For dining out I want to stay around $300. We’re a family of 5 and that seems to work best for us so I stopped trying to lower it. But anyways lol, I did a needed for spending yearly and set the target to $300 x 12 = $3600 and set the date for December of this year. I did this so in case I spend more or less in a month, it will automatically recalculate and I don’t feel as bad for going over.

I just bought tickets to go to Washington in June and I ended up spending over 700 round trip. I did splurge for seat selection and premium seats (because hips) but, yeah. I was not expecting anything close to that much 🤯
Lol, I attempted a low spend but it didn't go great in January. I'm glad yours was better!!

We went on a cruise last year that my mom paid for as a gift, and still spent something like $1800 on the 'paid for' cruise. They are crazy expensive!
