Lowering the front Suspension on the OBS Silverado

Easiest and cheapest way to lower the front suspension on an old body style Silverado 88-98 is to cut the front springs. In this video I am addressing this way of lowering your rides height, there is ofcourse other options like replacing the lower control arm or spindel with a lowering kit. Im just simply showing how this can be done at home in a cost effective manner.

Bought this truck from a friend of mine, Its a 96 Silverado and it was missing half the engine and transmission. Good start for an LS swap project. I bought a wrecked 2002 Silverado a while back for the engine and decided to swap it into this OBS truck...
Flip kit and C-Notch on the OBS Silverado

I bought the cheapest flip kit I could find on Amazon and used a C-Notch that I had laying around from another project. The c-notch is meant for a 99-2007 frame so I had to modify it for this truck.

Can you link the kit? I like that it has the top hat support also. Some kits put the u-bolt pressure right on the axle.

How does it ride ??? I cut mine 2 springs and it’s bouncing everywhere on every bump
Did you find out how to fix the bouncyness?
Could of just removed the leaf springs,to flip the differential,put stock leaf springs,and use shock extenders,so stock shocks can still be used,those crazy paisa cheddars 🧀,its ok for me to say that cuz im a paisa cheddar 🧀 lol,but i istill didnt do a half nass flip job on my g-pas chevy obs ,but those folks still had the right idea how to flip the rear end,they just did extra work that didn't have to be done

that might be the worst cast manifold ever.
doing the same setup currently, i accidently bought the 45* flanged manifold so that'll be interesting to route the exhaust out of.

Did you just cut the springs or was there any other lowering components to get the front that low?
I cut the springs one and a half turns...

Saludos, for the rear i want to swap out the differential carrier for a limited slip so both tires can grip, i still havent done it lol...

I know this is a very late comment but would this work using 3mm eva foam for the face and 5mm for the rest?
Personally i think 3mm would be too thin to hold its shape, i mainly use it for adding details... but i havent tried it...

I tried to make the paper smoke helmet but it didn't work out very well, and I don't have all the materials 🥺😔🙁
You can use cardboard and hot glue... even cardstock could work but that would need resin to harden it...
@@venomousproductions7539 So I'm going to find cardboard boxes to make the smoke's helmet, and I'm going to use paper to stick it on the helmet, but I'm going to paint the papers to stick it on the helmet because I don't have any paint

@@sgwelds8784 tiene que checar si las dos cabinas tienen ventanas electricas, si son iguales no se ocupa cambiar el harness.
Mis ventanas son manuales pero quiero ponerle unas eléctricas será muy difícil?

Foam is very expensive at my country and all i got is paper and carboard can i still make it?
it can still be done with cardboard, with paper it might need fiberglass for reinforcement
I made one with both foam and cardboard. Cardboard does work but I think it is gonna require a lot more effort to get it surfaced. I'd recommend painting it with epoxy paint so it absorbs and holds its shape, then using some kind of filler to smoth out the corrogation marks, like spackle. Then lots of sanding.
