Sight Reading As A Brand New Piano Player!
มุมมอง 443 ปีที่แล้ว
So I have played trumpet since like 7th grade and am 23 now so I’m pretty well versed in Christmas tunes and reading music... and trumpet is in the key of Bb which means the tablature is the same! So I can read piano music just the same as if it were trumpet music. This means reading the music was just fine. I’ve never sat down and just tried to play any piano music before but here I am, I may ...

That's actually just SciFi pulling its skirt up. Science Fiction is a reflection of humanity. Each species mentioned reflects a piece of humanity. Which is why Klingons are interchangeable with so many species from so many SciFi's. They represent our own warrior/tempermental aspect. Grant from Mass Effect could be switched out with a Klingon and not much would change in the story.

This is one of the single biggest plot holes for me. The idea that a unified civilization would need thousands of years more to advance than humans is utterly ridiculous. Our advance is INCREDIBLY slow and inefficieny. A directed effort from an advanced unified society could never beat our slow ass spead of development, which actually seems to be negative nowadays....

Vulcans logic is flawed. If logic saved them, then why are the Romulans still alive? They dont adhere to the logic ways of the Vulcans, and they surely dont surpress their emotions. But yet they thrive just as well, if not better. Flawed logic.

Here's why the Vulcans are scared of humans, humans will ask for two warp drives to experiment with and unlike other logical creatures instead of working with one and keeping the others back up they decide to try and run them both in tandem to see if they can make things run faster and instead punch a hole into the universe go to a different universe decide they don't like how things are being run in that universe interfere and then go and punch another hole to get back to their own universe

Humans could do it in a shorter time because they're fickle and over-correct quickly. If it took the Vulcans a long time to learn to do it, then it will probably take them a long time to forget it. Humans will change their ideology faster than they change their underpants.

That use of contractions is an excellent example of why these new series do not feel like Star Trek, but like an imitation of Star Trek. They don't get the core values and the basic personality of the series. None of the Vulcans in the original series or in TNG ever used contractions. It's too casual a mode of speech; Vulcans are very formal. Details like this belie the pretense.

The anthropocentrism of ALIENS SUPERIOR IN A FEW THINGS BUT HOOMONS ARE somehow better...multitaskers, achievers, whatevs. That Green Lantern the first big movie was based on, which I read half century back...AGAINST THE FALL OF MIGHT by Clarke...endlessly used. Greater than the angels and worse than the devils man is the measure of all thingies and doodads and whicheverevs. Manyway. Mean what I know? I have studied sci fantasies for 60 plus years...love much but recommend DO NOT MISTAKE FOR REALITY of past present ...or high tech will cure damage of high tech WHEN Coal gone all high tech gone. several centuries....windmills Of wood, dams by hoof and by hand. Takes fuels produced over a billion years to mine anything at these levels...thorium uranium lithium.... Um. No satellites by 2400 ish. You wish but genies cant be replaced by genius. A generalist be...study all in balance with provable reality. byee

I like the little grin Soval does when the Admiral asks if humans remind them (Vulcans)of themselves. It shows that Gary Graham realizes that Vulcans aren't _emotionless_ just suppresses emotions. It also shows he might have been studying Nimoy.

Agreed. That is a Very good scene. It is one that some people in positions of authority have suggested has been played out in actuality.
