    I just finished my stem cell transplant...I'm on day 50 and just beginning to get my appetite back....and also am a Hodgkins lymphoma patient. I watched your first video before going in and found it helpful. I can relate to everything you say in this one! The thing that I hated (there are many) the most was the "flushing." They'd always say, "okay I'm just going to flush the line" and it completely nauseated me every single time. It just seemed constant. Anyway, I'm very grateful to have the opportunity and hope my lymphoma is gone for good. Thank you so much for posting this. I LOVE your doggie!!!🐾❤😊

    Seriously so thankful you shared this and that you’re so positive. Was the three prong catheter mandatory or can you do a stem cell transplant through the port? I might’ve missed this as well but how long did you have to stay in the hospital?

    • @briannafresh8
      @briannafresh8 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh wait 12 days. Sorry!

    • @erikamargurite6292
      @erikamargurite6292 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was mandatory, because they had to take my blood out and collect the stem cells and then give me the blood back, all in one loop. So the three prong catheter was the easiest way to do that. Yeah! 12days, but I still was so so frail when I got home. Looking back now I think they wanted me out as soon as possible because the pandemic was about to hit and the health care professionals knew that.

  • @briannafresh8
    @briannafresh8 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was diagnosed with HL IVB and did the same chemo regimen but my post chemo scan showed that I pretty much stopped responding after the check in scan we did after 4 infusions. Hey! I just found your channel. I had stage 2b Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I’m now 5 years cancer free. I got incredibly depressed after I finished treatment. I thought something was wrong with me. I felt I should have been happy 100% of the time because I beat cancer. However like you said, there is still a lot to process after finishing treatment. I didn’t realize that until much later. As far as motivation goes, I also felt similar. But our bodies have to take time to heal from trauma and there is no time limit on that 💜 I also had activity in my thymus! It scared me when my doctor told me, but he wasn’t worried at all. It eventually went away. Every body is different. My period completely stopped during treatment, but came back once I was finished. I didn’t think I’d be able to get pregnant after chemo, but I now have a beautiful 1 year old baby girl. Wishing you the best! If you ever want to talk, I’m here! 🙂

    • @erikamargurite6292
      @erikamargurite6292 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the steroids, I also think part of the reason I gained weight was that I quit smoking when I started chemo. once I was off the steroids I lost a lot of the "water weight". I am not as small as I was before treatment but I am healthy, about 125. just know your body will fluctuate with different medications.

    I know the feeling. losing so much time in your life because of the stupid cancer really sucks but on the other hand thank God for the doctors visit 2 1/2 to 3 years is a small price to pay for the rest of your life. I was diagnosed February 2018 with diffused b-cell lymphoma triple hit and I was stage four end stage. nine months of R-CHOP etc. ended in epic fail, Then December 10, 2018 I had a car T cell transplant and again it failed, so then I did some other drugs and July 17 I did a aloe stem cell bone marrow transplant. only had a couple issues with my stomach like you were mentioning, it’s interesting watching people like you who were several months ahead of me. Thanks for making this video - I'm in the exact same position. I have some refractory Hodgkin's and I've started undergoing BvB waiting for a clear scan. It's really disheartening to hear that a treatment that works on most people didn't completely work on me but it's reassuring to know that I'm not alone. I'm nervous about eventually getting a bone marrow biopsy though! My pain tolerance isn't super high and to be honest, I had a big fear of needles before all this cancer junk came up. @@JG-ix5xr Hey Joy! I'm very sorry to hear about what your sister is going through. I got my transplant back in July and am doing great. I ended up getting a month of radiation therapy post-transplant and am currently doing maintenance therapy, but my hair is back (softer and curlier) and my strength and endurance are on par to what it was before I got diagnosed with cancer. I actually got back to college (all online, of course) less than two weeks after I was discharged from the hospital! Transplants are nerve-wracking for both the patient and the family. I was extremely nervous before mine because I wasn’t allowed to have any visitors and I’m not great with medical procedures. I was 20 at the time and it was super overwhelming. I felt so “abnormal” leading up to it if that makes any sense. But, I promise you that the feeling is temporary and passes quickly. You will all get through it, and I bet it won’t be as bad as you think it will be. Let me know if you have any questions about anything. I’d be happy to be of any assistance. 😊

      a good diet is no guarantee to be disease free but surely something everyone should aim for. Some things we cant influence though, even if we wish we could. I believe EBV plays a big role in developing Hodgkin. But it’s surely only one of many puzzle pieces. Hello This woman in the small youtube profile picture is you? I hope you full recovery. Hair is not a problem. The important thing is being healthy and happy. You look so energetic. As a medical student can I ask about your diagnosis? what do you take ABVD for? Best wishes. :)

      @@erikamargurite6292 Yes thank you I managed to know more about hodgkin's lymphoma later after my question. Side effects rather than hair loss: A: cardiotoxicity B: pulmonary fibrosis V: peripheral neuropathy D: burning at the needle site of injection But most patients will not have any of the above mentioned SE's. The good news is that this disease have a very favorable prognosis :) :) Stage 2 I suppose you have two enlarged LN's somewhere in the chest eck Get well soon 💐💐💐
