50 things you should know about DREADLOCKS

50 things you should know about DREADLOCKS
I have the thinnest, finest, straightest hair you could imagine and have tried everything. So the quickest and easiest way for my hair type that I found was to back comb and then I would tighten it up with a crochet hook. I had no experience with the crochet hook and found it to be very easy as I could feel the lock tightening in my hand while doing it and did it very quickly. For maintenance I used the crochet hook to clean up and re-tighten and then as my hair would grow out I would interlock at the root but I had no tool for that I just stuck it thru by hand. The other way that worked for me was to twist and rip in place of the back combing with the same following steps however there was several reasons this did not work out as well as the back combing.
I don’t smoke but all of the other loc stereotypes are true. Plus, my husband is a musician, I do yoga and I am a vegetarian: the three other local stereotypes.
Does anywhere in Scotland install these types of locks please?
No!
You lost me at extensions lol later
Thank you for the Video, great information ❤️✨
I want to do dreadlocks in my hair and add synthetic dreads to them for length… I haven’t found any videos on that yet so I’m excited for your next video!
Awesome video! Thank you!
Very clear, concise video.. excellent! Thank you!
how do you make those :o
Every culture existed before brushing...
I've got a suggestion for getting the moisture out of the center for quicker drying is wrap them around tampons to suck up the moisture inside
can I have dread without damaging my hair?
The Eclipse will drain your energy, too. Thank you for sharing!

I have a loc EMERGENCY! ❤ HELP ME PLS, 🙏 I started my loc journey about 4 yrs ago, and for the first 2 yrs I kept my hair wrapped, for the last two years I've worked construction and between the sweat dandruff and neglect I've put my locs through. I haven't pulled apart and crochet my hair in over 6mo. I dont have the time and I can't find a single loctician who's willing to work on fine hair, I DONT WANT TO CUTT THEM OFF, they mean the world to me. Can you help?!?! Any tips? My locs are entangled together and it's extremely difficult for me to see where I'm cutting or pulling apart. It's so matted up 🤦♀️ but I love my hair so much, pls pls pls respond 🙏 🤲
People see the cap on its own and be like what thaaaaa

ALL OUR ANCESTORS from all around the world had dreads
All our ancestors had dreads , from ALL over the world. Research it.
OH MY G I love your dreads so much !
Thank you so much for this video. I started my dread locks kind of free form but also like with rubber bands and they’re coming along like 2 years later down the road I need help figuring out how to fix them on my own
I got myself some braid in dreads wanted just as a partial, and I just can't do it...😢 I lack patience and skill...
Wow, your ink is really nice!
Im indian can i do locs ? 😂
Is it ok to tie up hair when you trying dreds, 1st time
Love the hair the tats and the You❤
I like the braids and the ponytails but all of them are so pretty!
What if some of your dreadlocks are long and some of them are different lengths?
Question: How do you wash partials? I just installed (for the 1st time ever) synthetic dreadlock extensions ... not a fan of how the whole head dreaded looks on me so I'm thinking of taking the top out and rocking the partial with dreads just underneath (still the majority of my head with extensions though) .... so how do I go about washing my hair/dreads in that instance since we dont want to be getting the dreads wet as frequently as the top is gonna need to be washed .... ?
You're so pretty anything would look good on you I love your hair oh my God
Starting my lock journey at 60
What about oil like rosemary?
do you have any tips for someone who is working to make their own extensions? Asking for me.
You can tell she washes her hair regularly. Tons of people with locs literally don’t wash their hair and it stinks so bad. Then they “detox” their hair after months/years and tons of crap comes out. Her water was so clean compared to the mud puddles I’ve seen of other videos of people detoxing their locs. It’s crazy how dirty some people can be. Please someone teach these people how to wash their hair like a normal person. They have tons of build up and grossness in their hair and try to gaslight light people saying they do wash their hair, but if they did wash their hair none of that stuff would be in their hair and their hair would be clean, but instead they leave mud puddles in the sink
Bro you are literally just talking just to talk , she has build up too .. anyone & everyone with Locs will get build up …
@Real843BabySkii they get build up if they don’t wash their hair. And she washes her hair 2 times a week. She has build up of product meanwhile a lot of these other people have build up of product, dandruff, dirt, sweat, and nastiness. Meanwhile some of these nasty people don’t wash their hair at all. It’s literally basic hygiene. Of course when you don’t wash your hair crap is gonna stay on your hair. She doesn’t have as much as a lot of these other nasty people. Look at the color of her water, it’s still somewhat clear. Then go google other people detoxing their hair and it looks like a nasty puddle of mud. Every person I’ve met with dreads stink so badly. Their hair smells so bad and half the time they reek of BO. They’ll even admit they don’t wash their hair for months. Heck some of these people making detox videos will admit the last Time they washed their hair was months and sometimes years ago. I’ve met people with dreads that wash their hair and have basic hygiene and their hair is clean and doesn’t stink like sweat and fermented rotten cheese. And they don’t have nasty crap that has built up over time. They wash their hair and the water comes out clear. And I’ve also been friends with people with dreads that stink so bad and they say that it’s normal to not wash their hair if they have dreads. So they don’t wash their hair. And of course they can’t smell their own nastiness but everyone else can.
I know this is over a year old, but I was just trying to figure out how to add some of my moms gemstones, pearls, and Swarovski's to my hair (she made jewelry and passed in 2021), now I am going to do it! I can just look at my locs and think of her <3
How do you remove them?
Your amazing 🤩
This has been the most detailed and easy to understand instructions on these installs. I’ve watched many and helping someone for the first time today so I wanted a refresh and I feel so much more confident now than ever before.
I feel like if I attempt this (i'm 35 and have wanted to for over a decade) I'll ruin the back. i have nobody to install for me and I cant find anyone locally. I'm tempted to risk it.... any tips on trying to do the back of your own head? :')
I need someone to install mine I don't get why anyone would do themselves my arms would hurt😢
YOU DIDNT SHOW HOW YOU DID THE CROCHET HOOK!!!!
I don't know if anyone feom thia post is still chillin' about. But I'd like to learn more. I have some questions. I'm actively on a journey(one of the hardest I've found myself on) and I feel I need to let go of a part of myself to really find my path. I know I need to relinquish my control and a single maybe 2 locs might assist me to heal this part that feels so lost within the structure.
How can i make a detachable piece for the back of hair while tesl hair up
