DD coils are better at target separation and a can be better in trashy areas also. A DD coil shoots a more narrow knife like signal vs a round signal of a standard concentric coil like comes on the 3300

It uses the same coils as a fisher F4/F2 detector but should us a push on connector instead, you would need to double check your 3300 to make sure it is push on but if so this coil should work www.metaldetector.com/products/fisher-11-dd-search-coil-f2-f4-push-in-connector

Yes you can find gold with it, I have found one class ring. One thing to remember is that if you are looking for gold you will dig a lot of foil and pull tabs. There's no real way around it no matter what detector you are using if you want gold you dig trash. Good luck with it.

No problem, I am happy you found it useful. Yes I think the 3300 is a good detector, it may not have multi frequency and target ID options of some other units but for the price it performs well. The biggest key to doing well with it is to use it and dig a lot of different targets. You will eventually figure out what it is telling you is in the ground.

@@chaddthompson okay thank you for the response. Yeah I’m knew to it all so I figure I need dig up all targets so I can understand the piece of equipment. I just got a pinpointer on Friday to help me find what i’m digging faster.

Thanks for watching, depth wise it really depends on conditions and how the coin is in the ground "flat/on edge" but in our ground here it will get a quarter down to at 8" or more.

@@robertshort6147 It is the same coil that the Fisher F2 and F4 detectors use so search for that but make sure you get the right connector they sell them in both screw on and push on connectors. I think the 3300 is push on but be sure to double check yours.

It seems like a fairly common problem. My repair has held up well and I haven't had any issues with them since I fixed it.

That means the detector thinks the target is a US silver dollar coin. But it could also be a huge chunk of buried iron, you can usually tell by pinpointing to see how big the target is.

Glad the videos helped out, the recovery time really isn't horrible and depending on what mode you run it in you will still hear a target and you can go over the target more slowly to check it out.

Yes, from the factory it appeared to be some sort of silicone sealant and it did not adhere well at all to the plastic wheel well liner. Also no other sealants seem to stick to silicone sealant. I used through the roof sealant when I did the repair. It is still holding up well.

BH used to make their own stuff not sure if that is still the case or not. I do know that some BH and Fisher coils interchange.

Sorry I am not sure on that one, I don't know what the availability is over there.

Yes a much better machine for sure. I started out with a Tracker and while it was good the 3300 is much better.

Yes I would recommend one, sometimes it feels a bit cramped with my Wife two Daughters and myself but we don't like to spend much time in the trailer while camping unless the weather is crappy. Campers are always a trade off of space/weight though so you are either going to have lot of room with big heavy trailer or less room with smaller/lighter/less complexity. It is light and tows very well and with the murphy bed you still have plenty of room and a couch to sit on when you aren't sleeping. The bunks are a bit small but the kids like them, an adult could fit in a bunk but it would be pretty cramped. Like all travel trailers it has had some issues, other than the inner fender well issues and a few pcs of trim coming lose I have had to rework the attachment points of the murphy bed as it was starting to come lose a bit after a few thousand miles of use. For some reason they only put screws in ever other hole on the side of the bed hinge that you can't see and only had a few screws holding the bottom frame that the bed attaches to. I put in several more screws to more firmly attach the lower frame to the cabinet work and then used pop rivets to attach the bed hinge to both the bed itself and the frame that the hinge attaches to. Seems to be holding up well so far, we towed it out to the east coast at the beginning of Oct about 1900 miles and it held up fine. IMO if you are going to buy a travel trailer of any brand you need to be handy and be able to take care of small issues on your own, otherwise the TT will be sitting in a long queue at a dealer somewhere waiting to be fixed and then you are at the mercy of the dealer to complete a good repair.

Yes you can upgrade the coil I have a DD coil on mine, the one you want to get is for a fisher f4 with the push on style connector. This is the one that I used www.metaldetectors.com/11-dd-fisher-search-coil-with-push-in-connector-f2-f4

For the money I don't think it can be beat. Sure it is missing some of the features of the higher priced units but it has all the important features.

Ours has held up great since I did the repair. No issues with it at all since. So the "through the roof" and truss head screws seems to hold up well. We have pulled it a couple thousand miles since I repaired it. It is pretty frustrating to have to fix something like this on a new camper though.

That's great, the more you use it the more you will find with it.

Thanks for the comment, the music on this game is some of the best in pinball. Interesting layout and the transporter was pretty cool for the time. Too bad the art wasn't a bit better on it as that's my only real complaint about it.

Chadd Thompson well I spoke with someone at Bounty Hunter and I was told they are the same detector and the 3300 has the digital readout and Pinpoint feature.I know the QD II also has automatic ground balance and the 3300 does not.I am keeping the Discovery 3300 simply because I prefer the digital display and having a manual ground balance.

@@1OFGODSOWN Yeah I would definitely prefer a manually adjustable ground balance over auto any day..

Depending on ground and target types you should be able to get quite a bit more than 4". You need to make sure you have it ground balanced correctly for your soil then adjust your sensitivity as high as you can without getting false signals. As far as jewelry goes silver will normally be a good hit but gold will a lot of times show up as trash, foil, pull tab etc. The DD coil can give you a bit more depth and make separating targets a bit easier. The biggest thing is just getting out and using it and digging a lot of targets until you figure out what the detector is telling you.

I do get tired of tabs but hate to pass them over because it could always be a nice ring you left in the ground.

Yep it is hard to get the time to go out and hunt, seems like all we do is run with the kids so not much time for Detecting. The 3300 is easy to use and has enough features but isn't overwhelming to learn. Get one of the DD coils and it is hard to beat imo.
